Choosing specialization in MBA.. completely depends on the specialization u choosed in ur graduation right..?? Or u can change ur specialization once u reach to MBA..?
Sir, Kindly suggest me some reputed B School from where I can apply for Operation Management with considering ROI and Financial Aid as I have an experience of 4yrs in maintenance engineering in the manufacturing industry. It will be great help sir, Thank you in advance. You are doing great job, All The Best
I think Marketing and Finance is the most lucrative options....But can you tell me what will be the scope of International Business Management in India and how and on what basis it is different from Marketing ?
How difficult is it to land a job in marketing post MBA as an international student in US/ Canada considering your domestic counterparts are more well versed with the culture in those countries than you are? Any tips?
Client facing front office roles are more difficult to get compared to mid/back office roles, for the reasons you've shared. In some industries, such as technology, domain knowledge and transferrable skills may compensate to some extent.
Hi Sameer, I found your videos rich in content compared to stuff around the internet. I have a query regarding my application 1.I am interested in startup and business in general but not looking for entrepreneur specilization 2.what next specialization you could suggest me if I want to switch from coding to management
All the good MBA programs provide a solid foundation in business management concepts. You don't need to take a decision on the electives upfront. So don't get too stressed out about it at this stage. Other than specializations, you'll find other ways on campus to polish your entrepreneurship skills - like startup clubs, competitions and other resources.
Sir I am pursuing Bachelors jn Information Science and Technology from Penn State University. I am really passionate about doing an MBA. Would Business Analyst be a good role to start my career. If yes, then which MBA speciation would be the most helpful for a Business Analyst to climb up the ladder and acquire senior positions.
Yes, business analyst is a good role to target. But it would be too early for you to worry about getting an MBA. For now, focus on doing well in your bachelors and getting into a good company.
Iam really in a confused situation, Iam a 3rd yr medical student and interested in buisness also... Since after completion of mbbs we usually go for md or md specialisation. Since mba in abroad requires work experience we will be having 1 yr internship n i want to pursue postgraduation and as i get work experience there then i can apply for mba in abroad So what's your opinion and which specialisation is important for medical student?
Which is better, Product management or SAP functional consulting for MM, SD, FICO modules etc in terms of growth, both responsibility and compensation wise, size of the job market in India and worldwide and finally, in terms of future proofing the career from the claws of automation?
From a longer term perspective, it's better to build platform-independent skills that aren't relevant to only a specific company. SAP skills may be in demand today. But who knows about tomorrow. The same way mainframe/DB2 skills went out of fashion with the entry of open systems, Informix/Sybase got gobbled up by Oracle, and you'll find many such examples. For that reason, we'd pick product management over SAP.
Coming with an medical background can I still do an MBA... And select a specialisation other than health care, as I am interested in other specialisations..
Yes, you can go for an MBA. And you don't need to select healthcare if you don't want to. But you will be expected to have a clear rationale of why you want the degree and how it'll help you with your career goals. We've published some articles on this: www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2017/05/31/why-doctors-join-mba/ www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2019/06/19/mba-after-mbbs-uk-scholarship-low-gmat/
Hi thank u for the video may i know the difference between masters in HR n MBA in HR and MBA in general. My bachelor is in psychology and education . What masters should I do?
In MBA programs, the primary focus remains on getting a well-rounded exposure to business. Then you choose electives in topics you like, such as HR. MS programs are relatively more rigid in terms of how much experimentation you can do.
I am working in Amazon as an seller partnet support associate and doing my mba and having doubt in choosing the speacialization... Looking to start my own startup in e-commerce... In such case which specialization will help me to choose and build my career
Sir,I am a graduate in English literature and I am interested in doing MBA.Can you suggest me a specialization which will be suitable to me? Please do reply sir...
The specialisation isn't related to what you've done, as much as it is to what you want to do after completing the MBA and your personal interest. For that reason, it won't be right to ask others which one you should choose.
A general management degree should be good enough to get a strong foundation in business. Beyond that you can choose electives that may be aligned to your business role and industry.
There may be variations in terms of the breadth and variety of what they offer. But the most popular ones tend to be more or less what we've covered in this video.
Please make a video on healthcare administration sector, abroad college s of Germany and France. 1.5 yr course program in international healthcare administration MBA
International MBA programs allow students to take up electives in multiple areas. So you could take up a few in finance, others in marketing and so on.
Sir , I would like to do MBA in mass communication or media management can you suggest me good universities or colleges in usa , and did this specialization has future?
out of hr, marketing, international business and finance, which one has a good future? can marketing specialization be ever took over by AI/Machine Learning or some other technology? also i am bad with maths and the tax structures etc
Hi Udit, whether you're able to make use of the specialisation or not will determine its value. For instance, many techies specialise in finance, but end up taking jobs in tech companies that aren't very different from what they did before the MBA.
UK MBA programs are shorter than those in the US. So the scope to go for any deep specialisation is less. Most programs tend to be general management focused. But you'll have the option of choosing electives based on your interests.
There's a difference between accounting and finance. MBA degrees don't create accountants. Talk to a few who've graduated from finance MBA programs to see what they're currently doing and whether you see interest and potential to be in those roles.
After class 10th I did diploma in Civil Engineering and currently I am in final year of graduation (BTech), so can I pursue MBA in finance (considering I haven't done 12th) ?
Sir, I would like to get in to the area of investment banking and I would like to know something more about it. And what are the best universities/colleges that open doors to investment banking. Could please help me out with these thing. Thank you.
Check the employers of a few top UK programs to see if any of them offer the opportunities you're looking for. That'll give you an idea of whether it would align with your goals.
Sir, I would like to know more about MBA in international business, colleges offering this course, career opportunities and salary package. Please help me out with this thing. Waiting for your reply. Thank you.
Hello Sir, Iam working as Tour consultant in Dubai n Iam a bcom hns graduate. My job profile is to explore destinations and create itineraries according to client's interest. It includes lots of travelling as well. Could you plz advise if Marketing is better or International business?
Yes, all international MBA programs are designed to focus on international business, as opposed to domestic ones. So the concept doesn't really apply to reputed MBA degrees. It's more common at the MS level.
All MBA programs start off as general management programs covering all the basic disciplines. Students use electives to convert them into specialisations.
Hey hi, I've completed my B-tech Biotechnology and I'm interested in doing MBA abroad but there's no idea in what to choose and where to do my MBA .... Can u please help me out by guiding me...?! 😊
MS programs are more popular than MBA for tourism and hospitality. We've covered them here: www.mbacrystalball.com/masters-degree/tourism-hospitality-management
We can't make recommendations based on what you've shared. Ask him to check this out: www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2016/02/03/how-to-select-business-schools/
Hello Sir! My Question is.... Sir i did BBA Hons in Finance but now i want to do MBA in marketing or HR. And i do these Bcz i want to see myself as a leader, as a Businessman in my future. And i choosed finance just bcz of getting entry into corporate level. I am vry intersted in accounting studies but finance subjects are little bit complicated in theory. Plz Suggest me what should i do Marketing or HR and Does it matter if i change my field in MBA.?
During your MBA, you can choose a specialisation that's different from your bachelors degree. Just make sure that you do some more research on Marketing or HR to ensure that the experience you had with Finance isn't repeated during the MBA. Talk to people who work in those fields to understand how things work beyond the theory that's taught in the class.
@@MBACrystalBall Ok sir ur ri8 but i am very weak in Maths even i really hate it. But i understand Accounting easily and i take interest in that. While my Dream is becoming a Businessman and A Leader in my Future..... So which Direction could make this easy for me in these fields. I have met many pple whose bkgrnd frm Finance but thy doing Marketing jobs and HR as well. One of my friend told me tht as finance graduate you can do HR and Mktng jobs as well but from these two bkgrnds you cannot do finance jobs. Do U agree with this? Why?
For someone with the aptitude and potential moving from either domain to another one is a matter of learning and practice. None of the topics taught in an MBA are at the rocket science level :-)
Sir i want to do my own business..to be an enterprenure.. which specialization should i choose?? & Which is the best collg in india and abroad for that particular specialization...pls pls help me sir.
@@jh9044 Most international programs start in Fall (i.e. around Sept). Some have spring intakes as well. You'll need to check the website to see how they spread their application deadlines.
@@MBACrystalBall Thankyou Kamat Sir. I want to be an entrepreneur, maybe it be startup or any business in india/outside india so should I do masters in entrepreneurship or MBA in same? As the fees are damm high for MBA, MBA fees wont be recovered easily if i am starting business. Also people around whom you work matter, I know by going in such institution my contacts will increase,my pov of business will change , i will get more ideas about doing business, a wide perspective. I am doing chartered accountancy and in coming november will be my 1st attempt. So I want to plan from now or I think I maybe a bite late. So please guide!
sir can you please suggest a MBA program for service engineer .. ..like most of the engineering(electronic/electrical engg)graduate who are working in core field as service engineer
Here's what MBA programs ask for: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3hugSTxze0k.html Quite unlikely that any good bschool will let you skip GMAT/GRE.
Hi Isabelle, it can be helpful but only incrementally if you already have an MBA. If the firm you join makes it mandatory for employees in specific roles to go for it, then it may be worthwhile.
Working for a few years is important before getting an international MBA. The experience will give you an idea of your career goals and specialisation choices.
Hi sir, as you said work experience is mandatory for joining in an elite institution and experience in any field will be ok for that. Waiting for your reply.
Hello, your video was quite interesting and but I want to do MBA in tech consulting can you tell me which universities in torronto are providing the course??
We have detailed video on MBA in Tech and MBA in Consulting. Check them out. Toronto has Rotman, the biggest brand in Canada. But you don't have to limit yourself to Toronto (unless you have a strong personal reason). If you already have a tech background, you can consider any reputed school (even outside Canada) that can open doors to such opportunities. Any reason you aren't looking outside Toronto?
You'll have to do your independent research to figure out which one matches your career interests. Don't take such an important call based on what others say, especially when they don't know anything about your aptitude or goals.
Hi, I have experience as a development engineer in india. Do I have to choose something related to IT for mba? Many people say that if your work ex is not relavant to your specialisation, getting a job after mba will be very difficult. I am more interested in HR but worried about the job prospects after mba
It is more challenging for career changers since there's no track record for recruiters to verify. But many manage to do it. It depends on how convincingly you can pitch your case.
Work for a few years to find out where you want to take your career. Then take a call on the specialisation. Otherwise it'll just end up as a theoretical addition to your CV.
Hello sir, I'll be completing my graduation next year and most likely to attempt gmat as well, if at all I score well I want to pursue an MBA in HR, will I be admitted directly after my graduation in any of the US business schools or somewhere else apart from India ?
Most MBA programs are designed around general management. So you don't need to go into a specific specialisation if you don't want to. MBA isn't comparable to MSc, as the two are targeted at different demographics.
Hello, Sir a really great video, and thanks for your valuable insights. Sir, I wish to consult with you one on one regarding my future career choices. I am already working however I am not quite satisfied with where I am and have some other issues as well if given an opportunity would surely like to discuss with you. Sir as I have understood the kind of in-depth knowledge you possess I am more than willing to pay for your valuable time. Thank you.

@@jitinvp3358 I assume you're referring to data analytics. Yes, it's grown to become quite a popular specialisation in the last few years. We had that along with a few others on the list, but the video was getting too long. So we focused on the traditional favourites. We've covered data analytics in a fair amount of detail on our site. Here are some articles: www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2015/12/23/big-data-analytics-masters/ mbacrystalball.com/masters-degree/data-science-analytics

Sir I completed BE computer science engineering. And I can't interested in coding. and I interested in MBA in which specification is suitable for me sir??
Is Universities such as iowa state University, Auburn University, Humboldt state University, University of South Florida worth it for doing MBA for an international applicant ?
Sir I just completed my btech degree in computer science .so which specialization should i choose for ? Bcs I believe to get hired for a good job we must have masters degree in hand . pls help sir.
It's not ranked by any reputed MBA ranking such as Financial Times. Which means not much is known about it. Make sure you do a thorough research on it, before proceeding.
You are right, Asif. Entrance exams (such as GMAT, GRE) can be tough to crack. Fortunately, they are just one of the many components that bschools look at. Which means if the GMAT or GRE score is low, there are still some chances that the candidate may get an admit, based on their other components - such as essays, recommendations, resume, goals, interviews. For some inspiration, here are some low GMAT score success stories: www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2011/10/30/low-gmat-score-success-story/
@@MDASIF-rh6ct We don't focus on CAT options. But from what I know, the CAT based process places too much emphasis on a single score (even using it as a cut-off) compared to GMAT/GRE based programs which tend to be a bit more balanced in candidate evaluation. An average GMAT/GRE score doesn't result in an automatic rejection. One option if you can't crack the CAT and get into a good Indian bschool, is to build your professional profile and consider international options after a few years. Is that an option worth considering?
In theory, yes it can help. Since you'll learn about the business aspects of real estate and finance concept (allowing you to evaluate investing decisions). But you'll need to have a strong career focus and strategy.
Hello Sir, I am Currently Pursuing my Btech in Game Development. so i am confused in taking a particular mba program which could help me further can you suggest me a mba program which will be helpful for me please Sir.. I am Confused in Operation Management ,Finance and Human Resource. I want to be financially well setlled so i am confused which program to choose among these
All good international programs expect several years of work experience, so it'll be too early to worry about specialisation. Focus on building a strong professional profile first.
