VERY SORRY!!! off to a great start!! Flub at the Super Robo Taisen OG saga start....should i pull this down and re-upload?? I can fix it, hope it's not a huge deal...I'm officially an idiot!!!
To all lazy people out there 1- Luminous Arc. 2- Avalon Code. 3- Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier. 4- Endless Frontier. 5- Radiant Historia. 6- Black Sigil. 7- Solatorobo. 8- Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. 9- Contact. Bonus: Golden Sun DS. Nostalgia. Fighting Fantasy. Sands of Destruction. Rondo of Swords. Some personal adittions to this awesome list: Knights in the Nightmare. Kingdom Herts 358/2 days. Dragon Quest IX. Pokémon Soul Silver and Gold Heart. Final Fantasy The Four Heroes of Light. Digimon World Dusk/Dawn. The World ends With You. Etrian Oddysey Franchise. Rune Factory 3.
I liked Digimon World DS better than Dusk/Dawn. People (in game) are too familiar with the Digital World in Dusk/Dawn, so it didn't feel enough like Digimon. In DS, you're figuring out the digital world for yourself. I'd also like to try Lost Evolution some time.
Hey GamezOf War, as a recent 1st-time owner of a 3ds I have to say your channel quickly became my #1 destination for quality review and excellent game suggestions! Great laid back style, very articulate and we can all just feel your passion...keep it up, looking forward for the next installment!
Hey just want to say thank you for taking the time to make this videos man. Really enjoy the quality of your videos and highly respect all your recommendations.
Awesome Video! I Recently bought a charger for my Dsi After 3 Years lol And ive been into RPG's lately This video helped! You showed footage and went into good detail about each game Youve Earned a Sub :)
Gaming God that's fine man, I'll just have to prove you wrong...I can't control everything that happens in real life man...but I appreciate your opinion and value you watching.
In the man's defense, he's not really broken his word. He said he needed money from us "for taking this channel to the next level" and "to spit-shine it". Now who can say he hasn't done just that? XD Shoutout to The Happy Console Gamer who showed him support when he asked for Patreon money. More big youtubers should pay attention to small, quality channels like this one!
Gaming God dude chill out, life happens, not everyone has the time to dedicate to their hobbies. The point of Patreon is so they can have a little extra income to help put towards making something, or using that money to work a few hours less at work so they can put some time into it.
Been looking for some DS RPGs to try, and a lot of "top 10" etc videos are just lists mostly devoid of any real information about the games. Loved this video, loved the game clips you used, loved the detailed but concise explanations of WHY you chose the games. I'm gonna sub.
Happy to see you back with a new video! An under rated and rarely talked RPG about series on the DS by Level 5 is Inazuma Eleven and while it might look like a silly concept a first a turn based battle system while playing a game of soccer it's actually a ton of fun. I own the entire series even the 3DS games and have a pal region 3DS just to play them. They remind me a bit of pokemon too because you can collect over 1,000 players for your team. If it's something you didn't pick up back in the day try it out you might find you like it :) also great list. The DS really does have so many fantastic RPG's.
Thank you so much for making this video, I've been looking for something new to play and this video was exactly what i was looking for. In fact i went out and got radiant historia today so im pretty psyched Some recommendations I would like to suggest is having a list of games you talk about in the video description maybe with time stamps for each
Fantastic video, bro! Some amazing picks. Just a small bit of criticism, you should put some more full screen gameplay footage in the videos. It'll help cover up some of the reading off the backs of the boxes. You do a great job of explaining what's so great about these games, so some narrating would be awesome
Last year I did quite a bit of research about RPGs for the DS (and also for the PSP) and bought a nice amount of games (Infinite Space, Luminous Arc 1 and 2....) but still you're able to mention quite a bit of titles (Avalon Code, Black Sigil, Rondo of Swords...) that I will have to look up and who knows, I might like what I see and read and expand my DS collection a bit more. Thanks again for another wonderful guide !
You did say you were gonna make more videos and you came out with this!!! Love these videos. You are one of the few youtubers whose opinions of games I highly respect. Keep doing it bro!!
Just found your channel today and as soon as I started the video, I became really happy because you started the countdowns with my first SRPG series in DS. The Luminous Arc games are quite memorable to me, as I played them when I was about 11 or 12. Great video BTW. :)
You know every time I get into a Japanese RPG mood, I always land on your videos and love every second of it. Thanks for making really good content. I will always love the DS for it's huge line up of great RPG's.
Thanks for the upload, I went overboard last year and now have a collection of 50+ RPG games for the 3DS and DS (when I say games, just cartridges. I'm that one guy who doesn't have the space for cases that come with the games.) This vid convinced me to get contact and Black sigil.
start of gamezofwar 2.0!! Infinite space has been on my list for the longest time, but now I HAVE to get luminous arc, all you had to do was put it in the same ballpark as fire emblem and i'm sold. i'll keep an eye out at work for it, great vid as always man
Very interesting video, like always. I think that video editing has become a little bit better. Thank you for some of the game names under the gameplay video! I like strategic JRPG's, like Shinning Force. But the other games looks pretty cool. Thank you, man. Waiting next video!
Great list... Just subscribed! Radiant Historia is my favorite DS RPG, if not my favorite DS game, of all time. I'm actually near the end of it now (finally). I really need to get Infinite space, that game looks amazing! Great list, added a couple to my want list.
Nintenjoel I'm with you on Radiant, I bought it when it first came out...I have finished it 3 times now..love it to death!! And it was a blind but of sorts, I had no idea it would be so epic!
When I saw that you have Infinite Space in your top, I was really surprised. It's one of my favorite games and I consider that it's the best story for nds. You gained a fan in me haha
Getting Black Sigil in the mail tomorrow! Can't wait! I've only played the 1st few hours via rom so im so glad to finally get the actual game to play on actual hardware.
So glad you mentioned Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: The Endless Frontier! That game is absolutely amazing with the incredible chain combos you can achieve. As you mentioned the dialogue is hilarious and the characters are so memorable. One of my favorite parts is the addition of Kos-Mos from the Xenosaga franchise. She is definitely one of my favorite badass female characters of all time. Stange Journey is also fantastic and I'm sure you are aware of how amazing the Devil survivor games are. Anyway, awesome video sir and I appreciate these recommendations for the DS. It's an amazing system for RPG's.
I'm late to the party on 2022 lol. Very nice video. I'm new to playing rpgs and right now I'm playing thru the handheld version of lunar legends. Can you recommend any games similar to that. I love rpg games but most are to hard for me so I'm looking for a simple one but yet still great like lunar
Yet again another great video! I’m thinking about getting radiant historia for the DS instead of perfect chronology for the 3DS. It’s to expensive for the 3DS version now days.
Thought I'd throw this in here since I know this channel is all about Luminous Arc but Luminous Arc 3 got an English Fan Translation that just went online for Christmas this year. Worth checking out if you have an r4 cartridge, a hacked DSi, or access to an emulator on a PC!
GamezOf War yeah. The combat is fantastic. Reminded me a bit of Sorcerer's Kingdom on the Genesis. You see the damage points every time you slash right on the hit animation. Very rewarding.
I still have my copy of Black Sigil (got it on release) and love it to this day! The random encounters are a pain, but near the end of the game, you can sell items at this hidden shop and earn a crap ton of gold and buy stat items and basically become OP. I can't wait for the Xbox buyers guide! I've had mine since Christmas 2002 and its filled with tons of gems (so many amazing Sega games, like Gunvalkyrie, Shenmue II, JSRF, and more!).
This video was so damn good!! I hadn't heard of a lot of these and every game you chose just looked so amazing. I wrote them all down and will be on the lookout for them thanks again!
Thank you for the list. I bought DS Lite back when it was new, but unfortunately it died after a year and half. I wanted to try something different, so i bought PSP next. It lasted from 2008 to cca 2012, when an idiot spilled beer on it. I was handheld-less for a time. Then a few weeks ago, i got an opportunity to buy DS-Lite in pretty good condition, for just 20$. So i bought it immediately. Trouble is, i remembered only couple of games i really liked. I kinda forget about lots of games, also some new games were released since my original DS died. I love RPGs, and most lists got just the typical stuff. I really like your approach, talking about the game, mentioning it's main positives. Great list, you reminded me of some great games and even showed me some new ones. What i'll like even more though, is if you showed more gameplay. But cool list, thx.
great job man! keep it up dude. are you from wisconsin? your accent sounds like it. could you start listing the game titles in your description box? thanks dude
hey mate, i know so little about RPG but i want to learn more about, so i dont have enough background to know If this list is legit or not, but this production and the way You Tell about the games are amazing. to be honest i didnt expect so much for such a small channel. congrats and greetings from Brazil
Great video! A lot of people don't seem to know that the DS has a lot of amazing games! :) One of the best handheld systems for sure! Some of the games are pretty hard to find in Europe though...
As always great reviews. Thank you so much. My DS collection is expanding and I'm able to select with more precision the games I will enjoy thanks to your reviews.
And I'm now officially up to date with your channel! So you will stopped being harassed by my non stop comments lol! You should be happy to have made me add 3 games on my want list: Black Sigil, Fighting Fantasy and Sands of Destruction! I've never heard anything about those before and looking forward to discover them! Great video and keep up the good work!
Looking forward to the Xbox guide! Missed out on Majority of Xbox games.. lets see what I missed out on I hope Panzer Dragoon Orta gets mentioned in the Xbox Guide! I bought that game even before I owned an Xbox!
I love the series so much.. so dark and mysterious not to mention the art work for the game is just gorgeous! Definitely one of the best rail shooter of all time... though that Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is pretty darn good too lol But Panzer Dragoon has a special place in my heart. Treasure those games so much! Wish more people got a chance to play these games. Most of them are affordable with the exception of Saga lol. Last I checked Orta was still roughly 20$.... it is a hidden gem Everyone talks about RPGs, Platformers, Racing Games, Beat Em Ups etc but barely Rail Shooters That might be a good idea for another video :)
great tips! I never heard of contact I must get my hands on it. Did u try The World Ends With You? That's a game I still remember it was just super original.
I played it when it first came out and I remember it to be extremely out there more like a suda game than an enix game. I don't even know whether you can say it is 100 an rpg. In terms of art direction it is striking and the gameplay is original (if I remember correctly you control 2 characters at once). I guess you either love it or hate it but try it! It's been 15 years maybe but it is still in my mind whenever I think DS. Anyway keep up with the good work lots of great tips in your videos!
