$475 to play Dunes Club without a member last time I was there . Definitely the primo golf course in Myrtle Beach and I’m pretty fortunate to have a friend I play there with 12-15 times a year.
I have been playing courses in Myrtle for over 20 years. Many courses you mentioned are over rated as well as their green fees. I found some the best courses are down south. Tradition and Wilbrook Plantation are both excellent courses at half the price the ones you mentioned. Also, the Wizard and the Man of War are fun courses. Keep River Club on your list as well.
There are clearly a ton of courses in the area and prices have skyrocketed. However, for high caliber courses I think that that you’re reasonably spot on. I have been visiting and playing there for years and I think you could swap Caledonia and the Dunes, though. All of the Barefoot courses are nice. For some reason I prefer the Love course. Can you find cheaper courses? Yes, absolutely, but I would say a huge percentage of folks visit the area to play spectacular courses, not something similar to the muny’s in their home town, which some other commenters listed remind me of. Not ragging on those courses, they are nice enough. Just not “memorable” IMHO. Thanks for the work you do!

You also have to remember that I live in the area so I get rates that out-of-towners will not get. Right now, 9 holes of The Thistle are closed. They are doing greens. We maintain it like no other.
@parfessor not usually, they put rates together in March or April. But it also depends how many people you have. If you have a group.... you get a better rate.
Sorry- you picked overpriced, overrated courses- there are numerous courses I the MB area that are in as good a shape and just as challenging as the courses you mentioned- and half the price- you scoff?? Try Meadowlands,River Hills, Thistle- all better in all aspects and half the price if not more- so hype the “ premium “ courses with the over priced green fees- $150-$185 and only fools and tourists will play there 5:50
My top 5 favorite are Medowlands, always in great shape- Prestwick- long, lots of water and big freaking undulating green- Oyster Bay- just a fun course and if you like gators,OB has them- another course out that way is the Pearl- east and west courses- both fun ,one a little more challenging and last any of the Barefoot courses other than Dye course- I have friends who live in BF,and we play most Wednesday’s there with my fee $50 as guest- all the other courses are reasonable all year round, and only need 2 cards- Prime Time and Golf Trails both imo are inexpensive and well worth it-
