You know I love a sandalwood note! This was a great selection and you look completely stunning! 🤩🤩🤩love the whole look especially the lashes!💗💗💗Great video!!!
I am such a fan Veronica! Thanks for this video. You really have a knack for this and are so captivating. I feel like your are talking to your girlfriends. 🥰🥰 Also, leave it to hubby to get off script 🙄😜 makes it even more relatable. You're great at this... wishing you success 🙌 🙏🏾 ✨ ☺
Aawww thank you kindly! It's exactly what I hope for that viewers feel like we're just hanging out shooting the breeze about fragrances and life. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And yeah... hubby is a trip! 🤣
First let me tell you that you look like a magazine cover in this video! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 There is Sandalwood in more perfumes that I thought… just on my shelf according to Fragrantica, I have 44! 😱 Even your beloved Still has Sandalwood! 😉 But the obvious ones in my collection are Hanami, Santal Vanille and Cocoa Woods by Nest. My favorite note for fall and winter for sure! Your husband is such a good sport! 😂
Hey Julie!! Awwwwe thank you so much! 💖 Yessss sandalwood is in soooo many! I tried to pick ones where the sandalwood is front and center in the fragrance. Darin is definitely a good sport, bless his heart. I put him on the spot. 😂 Glad you love sandalwood too! 🥳
Thanks for the recommendations!! Great video. You're so right, my husband can't tell one perfume from the other... He just likes when I smell good (and don't choke him out with over spraying...!)
You're welcome! Yeah. They don't care if it's expensive or not - they just know if it smells good. And right - don't knock them out with it (as I continue to re-learn the hard way). 😆
It is (as we have remarked together)! 💖💖💖 I saw your pre-edited comment and would be curious to know if Pat thinks it's feminine. I was shocked to hear Darin say that! I'll spray some on Darin in his sleep and he'll wake up wondering why he smells so amazing. 😂
Lovely video and great selection of perfums. I love sandalwood I only had one of ur collection Santal Carmen and you should try Santal Musc from narciso rodriguez & Mojave Ghost from byreedo they both stunning 😍 platinum ice body spray from victoria secrect it’s just as good as most perfums very long lasting as well
Thank you so much! 💖💖💖 I have tried Santal Musc and like it a lot. Mojave Ghost I go back and forth with liking or not. Platinum Ice Body spray is one I need to try!
Favorite note in a fragrance for me at least, I love this is her Because of it ❤️ I just sampled TF and I did like it enough to get full bottle ☺️ I absolutely agree on celebrity fragrances some don’t give it a chance but that would be their loss 😂 you look gorgeous as always 😉
Santal’s Kiss is so good! My husband loves it because it has a scent memory for him since I wore it on a vacation once - exactly why I’m addicted to fragrances: because of what they do to a person.
i cannot wait to try Reveal during Spring and Summer... Man, the pepper can be too much in the entrance, but as it dries down, it is so nice and smooth !!
Right?! And it has to be worn on skin for the full effect. Same with Tobacco Maniac. Wow!! Okay, look forward to hearing your warm weather impressions of Reveal! 🥳🥳🥳
I love all of your choices. If you love an earthy almost hippy style of sandalwood please try Maison Louis Marie no.4 it is so beautiful. I don’t have anything like it in my collection. Also, I just got my bottle of Want today and I’m loving it. Thank you for recommending it 😊
This was so fantastic, thank you for this excellent list! I will have to revisit Hanami. I love sandalwood and will be adding many of these to my to-try list. Happy almost birthday, fellow Cappie! ❤️
Thank you so much!!! I'm actually wearing Hanami today - there's light snowfall and it seemed Ike the right scent for the morning. Happy Birthday or belated birthday - whenever yours may be! 💖💖💖
Have you tried Santal Austral (sp?🤷🏽♀️) from Matiere Perfumerie? I got a brief whiff of it a while back but it’s on my list to re-visit and possibly purchase!
This was a great list, something for everyone! My favorite Sandalwoods are fresh, creamy, and smooth. I’m still deciding if Santal Majescule is for me, I love the cacao note but the rose messes it up for me. It definitely would smell great on a man. I agree that fragrances with a predominant Sandalwood note aren’t for everyone, Adam Lavine and Santal Cardamom smelled great but were too masculine for me. I prefer a more sweet or floral touch. There’s a new fragrance by Lorga called Santal Sugar that Sounds beautiful and delicious, I’m waiting on a sample 🤤, look it up!
Hi J! Yes, Santal Majuscule has some masculine undertones. Not for everyone! 🥴 Santal Sugar? Hello? What a great name. I will look it up right now. Thanks so much! 💖
Rehab is my fav sandalwood 🥰 but I recently bought Santal Blush and I am falling in love with it… I think that this perfume does not work for me in cold weather as everyone says, because with the cold weather my skin is always cold! and that perfume needs some warmth from the skin to shine! from the bottle or on paper doesn't smell that good at all. I wore it one day when the temperature started to rise and it was sunny… it amazed me 😍
Hi Laura! Oh I love this! You make me want to try Santal Blush when the weather gets warmer to experience this "blooming" effect. Thanks for the tip! 💖🥰
I LOVE sandalwood 😍 Especially Santal Carmin and Santal Blush from your list. For both of these, I have received a ton of compliments - not a usual thing for me! Santal Blush was my first intro into niche perfumery so it has a special place in my heart. Will definitely check out the other options as well. You look beautiful as usual! xx, Cameron
Hi Cameron! 👋 Thank you so much! And glad you enjoyed the video. 🥰 Santal Blush is a beauty!! And Santal Carmin is such an interesting perfume. Let me know if you try any others!
Hi Veronica, fabulous makeup and an amazing Santal fragrances collection. In Arab culture particularly the Arabian Gulf's tradition using Sandal (Santal) Oud, Rose and Saffron oils and blends means celebrations... Try Vanilla Vibes by Juliette has a gun , pure Narcotic by Boadicea and Kaleiscope by BBW.
Thank you so much! 💓 I love the idea of those "notes" being used in celebrations - beautiful! I have tried Vanilla Vibes but not the other two - thank you for the recommendations! 💖💖💖
What a beautiful lady and amazing lineup!💖🤩 I LOVE sandalwood it's one of my favorite notes and I can't get enough of it! My favorite here are Santal Blush and Santal Carmin, especially Santal Blush!. Magic Oud In Sandalwood Wowza never heard of this one 💖💖. I absolutely agree with the fact that some less expensive fragrances, if they were marketed by niche houses people would rave about them🤩
Hello gorgeous! Thanks for watching 🙏 I thought of you and Samsara - one day I will pick up a vintage bottle and properly enjoy it. 💖 Santal Blush is special - great fragrance. And yes, some of the less expensive ones deserve love too! 🥰🥰🥰
Second time around I’m watching this video 😆which is a good thing since I totally forgot about Reveal and now I’m sniffing my wrist and enjoying the wonderful aroma of this unique fragrance. Thank you, beautiful 😍
I'm in my sandalwood era and combing through older videos and lists looking for the one. Ill say i got a LOT of sandalwood from Bread in Chestnut if you havent tried that from Scents of Wood you really need to!
Bvlgari Omnia in the see through brown and silver packaging, it was the OG twin circle / chain link style bottle. It's a clean and fresh sandalwood that nobody ever mentions! May be slightly on the screechy side in the very opening for some people but that doesn't last, It's also super affordable!
Santal Kardamon is the one I struggled with but I want to give it a true wear again before I completely dismiss it. I have it in a dabber at the moment so i need to fix that!!
Awesome picks you have right there🤩🤩👌👌. I was a bit reluctant to get a sandalwood fragrance until I blind bought Boucheron Santal de Kandy towards the end of winter last year🤩👌.I absolutely love it and looking forward to rocking it from March onwards😍😍. It’s a woody, floral spicy fragrance and I need to add just one more😍😍. Great list as always👌👌. Stay gorgeous
Please try this 2 fragrances and tell us what do you think about them because they are hidden gems these two are super classy , feminine , elegant : 1-Baiser volé edp cartier . 2- la panthère eau de toilette cartier .
My favorite sandalwood is Skin Musk oil (not the spray). I can’t remember if it always smelled like this (previously owned by Bonne Bell, then Parfums De Coeur), but it’s owned by Fragrance Rebel now, and it’s a nice, soft, easy to wear sandalwood. I’m also interested in trying Nemat Sandalwood oil.
Now that's a challenging note for me! I used to think I loved it until I got Santal Carmin and Sandalwood Temple by Sana Jardin. They two smell so very similar and both nauseously sweet to my nose (so sweet sandalwood is def not my thing). And then there's Santal 33 and the like. And yes, I def smell pickles and dill in them. I'm dying to try Santal Wood from Theo, but I'm pretty much given up on the note.
Hi Yana, aw that's okay! Sandalwood can be a challenging note for many. Pickles huh? I find that so interesting! People say the same about Decadence by Marc Jacobs. Have you tried that one?
@@VeronicaSays I did! Funny you should ask about it as I've got it blindly after hearing so many ravings about how it's soooo niche among designer scents. For me, however, Decadence is an extremely sweet mass designer frag, the one I would never be able to tell from many others in the market. No pickles in there, but it did not make it more appealing for me =)) I guess the only (two) sandalwood scents I could do with at the moment are Samsara and Bois des Iles. I guess my struggle with this note is that it's sweet and salty at the same time and it causes cognitive dissonance =))
It’s very rare that a sandalwood doesn’t smell sour to me :( santal 33 is the WORST to me! Sour and nauseating! I do like Santal Carmin though! Santal Basmati doesn’t smell sour to me either. If anyone else has the same problem, let me know if there are some sandalwoods that work for you!
Sandalwood is a note I'm not sure about. I'm not sure that I can identify it 🙈. I feel like I have fragrances that I love that have it in them, but also ones I really don't like. I just need to be able to devote all my time to perfumery so that I can break the code, lol.
Hi there! Sooooo many fragrances have sandalwood as a base note. I only pulled out the ones that really feature sandlewood. It's mostly a woody and warm note but can morph depending on the composition. One way to "learn" it (or any other note) is to buy a small pure oil version and smell that to get acquainted with its unique character. Hope this helps! 💖
My husband hates perfume unless it’s patchouli (at least there’s that!) I have forced tolerance on him over the years. He would much prefer the smell of me after 3 days without a shower! Primal instincts I suppose!!
Men definitely don't care what you're wearing......now that's a sweeping statement lol 😆 😂 I don't think there's one strong sandalwood fragrance that I own.....!!! My best friend wore samsara for her date nights( pre reformulated) it was,SUPER strong......I nearly bit the bullet and bought one but I don't really think its my style. I need skank lol 😆 😂
You are too funny! I picture you in powerhouse florals, green fragrances, patchouli dominant fragrances. Samara is definitely a STRONG one!! I can't imagine someone wearing it constantly 😳😳😳
Santal wood is indeed a beautiful fragrance. I've got some compliments for it aswell!!! And I can't wait for scents of wood to start expanding to Europe
Tim!! I think you'll really love Scents of Wood. Try Cedar in Acacia, Oak in Oak, and Sandalwood in Oak. And quite frankly allll of them but these three I think you would be interested in.
