It's an easy and beautiful walk from the Üsküdar ferry terminal to Kız Kulesi. Is it not possible to purchase tickets outside the Üsküdar ferry terminal?

Currently it doesn't seem so. We saw there was a notice posted on the official site: muze.gen.tr/muze-detay/kizkulesi You can see the relevant text here: Official Announcements: The Maiden's Tower Restoration Project, Technical Report. Boat Transportation Will Be Provided Every Half Hour Between 09.30 And 17.00 From Karaköy Pier Due To Coastal Landscaping Works At Üsküdar-Salacak.

It looks worse now. Back then it looked better before the renovation.

We have heard mixed responses to the new design. It actually was designed to reflect what the tower looked like in the past. "In the statement, the ministry mentioned that the elements added to the tower at a later stage, which did not match its original character, have been removed, restoring it to its authentic appearance."
