Slowly recovering from my 3rd booster. After 2 months my painful symptoms are easing took NAC and symptoms were not there after 2 weeks of taking it. Still dealing with sleep issues so I’m looking for solutions on that.

Just started taking NAC… and I’m wondering if I should be careful to NOT add other supplements at the same time…? (In order to gauge its effect(s)/effectiveness?) Or, is it perfectly safe to take in addition to most supplements… as long as I remain curious about my overall response?
@DrAimieApigian
@DrAimieApigian 3 года назад
It is very safe in its mechanism (though that just changed with the FDA making it prescription only) and one that you won't necessarily feel an immediate effect from. It does depend on your overall strategy for supplements and whether starting out, you are one that wants to take everything to get better as soon as possible and then back to see what is it that is actually helpful for you, or if you like to start slow from the beginning. Very safe though in that it is boosting your liver's own natural detoxification system!

I've read on a couple websites that taking it in an enteric capsule to help it pass the stomach better because alot of it will be destroyed before being absorbed. Any information further on this from anyone else? I will eventually have a chance to look into it further but thought someone may've heard more than just that about it.

Liposomal NAC "if available" should make it past the stomach in intact and have max absorption.

Can brain inflammation be the reason why I now can’t read or watch tv without severe pain, dizziness and possible seizure like episodes? Neurologist, doctors, eye specialist all say I’m fine. But I can’t watch a movie with my wife, 😢

Have you had covid by any chance? I have been off balance and dizzy with a sensation that my brain is buzzing or vibrating. I had covid last October (2022) and have been very unwell since. I have been referred by my GP at my 3rd request, to a Post Covid Team as this is so debilitating and depressing...no one as yet can determine what is wrong with me...I'm sincerely hoping that someone will figure this out. I have been taking ginger 3 times a day...2-3 pieces x 3 doses, crystallised ginger cubes. It is helping a bit, perhaps if you haven't tried it, you could give it a whirl.
@Ismimical

@@CelticSpirit7 I did get Covid symptoms but didn’t go test. My issues started before Covid. Have you had a metabolic panel? To check for nutritional deficiencies? If not do that, check B1, D, check for leaky gut, do you have mercury fillings? I do take ginger, I cook with it also. I have several nutria so deficiencies, including D, B12, A, some kidney issues, low HDL cholesterol ect. I’m supplementing and feeling a little better except for the head issues.

My husband had those same problems. Due to COVID he had inflammation on his cerebellum. Make them give you a MRI and PET scan . My husband was on steroids and also I made him blueberry smoothies to get rid of the inflammation. I also found out he was deficient in B-12 vitamins. Look us the nutritious value of B-12 vitamins and blueberries and celery juice

@@TinaSelftalk blessings for your response, your husband couldn’t watch tv or read? I had mri and I think they are part of the reason I’m sick due, I felt burnt out after them, like my brain was fried. I am severely deficient in B12 and others. I will add blueberries and celery, do you have a brand of b12 that is clean of additives and fillers? Blessings.

I have this, as part of my cfs.. it’s a nightmare. Hoping NAC will help with glycine (although I’ve tried for 18 months to get to the bottom of my body issues - undermethylating and b6 problems, high liver enzymes, low gaba, high inflammatory markers… on and on it goes)… Have hope tho 🙏🏼

Hi Dr Aimie. I'd like to know why some people feel bad on NAC?
@DrAimieApigian
@DrAimieApigian 3 года назад
I'm not sure that this is as clearly understood as we would like! It can change at different times, so sometimes coming back to it and trying it again at a later time after other health issues have been addressed can be helpful.

What about for teens with autism or similar spectrum issues? Same dosage or how would that help them?
@Talentedtadpole
@Talentedtadpole 3 года назад
Autism isn't an 'issue.'. It's poorly understood. Learn about autism from autistic adults & you will find better ways to help yp than the harmful, outdated ideas that unfortunately hang around. The 'issues' aren't autism but lack of understanding from a neuronormative society which is a mess.
@TraumaChaplain
@TraumaChaplain 3 года назад
@@Talentedtadpole I think I understand that you are not appreciating the characterization of issues. However this does affect me and my children so it's not an issue may be in the term that you were thinking but it is an issue as it does affect me and my family. If you have any videos or information that you could refer me to in reference to your response, I would be glad to learn more. As a parent of children with processing issues, however you define it, I am always trying to learn more how to help them at a core State physically to be in the best shape they can be holistically so we can deal with the other challenges without worrying about core health issues.
@relishjane
@relishjane 3 года назад
@@Talentedtadpole It is when you are stuck in a systemised society that diminishes or negatively labels anything "different" and you are a parent of a child who is different. Very different. Autistic or spirited children/people are powerful, talented and here to create the changes so desperately needed in our world. As parents at the forefront of this generational or even evolutionary change, we need more support, more LENANCY, more language to correctly guide our children + cope. The behaviours + differences are seen as "issues" as they are compared to other neurotypical children who EASILY follow along with societal structures, everyday norms and processes that are currently setup in our world. Yes these need to be changed + updated, and it will take time, meanwhile, we are still trying our best as parents. This is NOT easy.

@@TraumaChaplain It's very cool that you are doing your best for your kids. It's shocking that almost no research has been done into our health. Good basics in nutrition go a long way. Movement is vital to us - something that your child enjoys will be a big help. Not to overwhelm as we have such hyperconnective brains & stong sensitivity that we do not do well when forced to behave the same as allistics (non autistics). Lots of peace & rest & time for personal interest will help your child's health & wellbeing. There is so much that can help, it's a whole learning curve, tho, it's likely your lives are being made harder than they need to be. Ehlers Danlos is fairly common in autistics, you may want to look into that. Lots of conditions result from stress & could be avoided; one day they will. In general, it's well worth reading Steve Silberman, Neurotribes, Dara Macanulty (a young autistic writer who has won many awards)! & Luke Beardon has a book on autistic kids - he's excellent. The #ActuallyAutistic community on twitter are a fount of helpful knowlege - Damian Milton is an autistic researcher & pioneer. Autistamatic is a youtuber who I like & trust. There are so many helpful sources that these folks can lead you too & they are kind & generous when asked - off hand, I haven't a list of resources for parents but they do exist. Twitter is a great place to find helpful autistics; the thinking person's guide to autism & many others. It is a bewildering world & a minority discovering themselves, so a good if complicated time for us & you to be alive. Good Luck!
