Ohh they do if any company deserves to go down is blizzard after the ow2 pve cancellation.

He took that back in his 2021 fails list.

Since then, Blizzard (alongside Activision) became the worst video-game company for THREE YEARS IN A ROW.

CrasherX 2000 yep, mainly due to so many people uninstalling blizzard games in protest. Oh, and this sort of return and refund applied to digital versions as well.

And stuff like this is why Nintendo’s list won’t be that bad. Seriously the only crappy things I can think of is them not getting US copyright, whoever it was that thought it was a great idea to threat push Sakurai so badly into making a sequel to Smash that we almost never got Ultimate as he had vowed to never work on that franchise again and the Japanese branch not getting that their employees are pushing themselves too hard on their work thus not getting the breaks they deserve.

All pre-purchases were refunded because the arrival date was postponed with no new arrival date given at that time. It had 0 to do with HK, Japan couldn't give less of a fuck, stop being such a delusional child

L00rdAjduk Sorry, I thought it was sort of true due to reports through gaming articles I saw and it made sense to me considering the timing. Whether Nintendo knew about HK or not and if it had anything to do with the release delay, we can all agree this refund decision at that time gave them some great PR.

After the whole Blitzchung thing, I got rid of my copy of Diablo 3 and Overwatch. Even though I absolutely loved both, it just felt dirty to play them. I've lost interest now and still haven't even seen anything related to Overwatch 2 despite being a big fan of the first one.

@@drivanradosivic1357 I found a good Overwatch replacement through Paladins. My friends already played it as they didn't like Overwatch and I played Paladins a bit more. I'm having alot more fun being a destructive force as a Lex Main. When it comes to Diablo, I haven't found a replacement.

@@corneliussnow8215 Grim Dawn, Victor Vran, Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing and more are good Diablo replacements. Also, Team fortress 2 and underrated Battleborn along with Paladins are good replacements for overrrated Overwatched.

I don’t know if this comparison is a bit extreme, but that almost feels like the equivalent of threatening the audience at gunpoint for not supporting the speaker like back in Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union under Stalin.

Plus it wasn't Blizzard's fault. It was just one d-bag of a player who exploited a glitch that Blizzard didn't realize exist. I am pretty sure that they were think before the incident nobody would be crazy enough to try what that player did.

Much like WoW's economy, the Blood Plague was also valuable to researchers! The CDC wanted to reference player behavior for the COVID-19 isolation protocols. Blizzard said no because of the fear of bad press. But I bet they're wishing they could take it back considering the current situation.

At this point, Blizzard will soon be a lost cause amongst the industry. At least Konami will have a new buddy.

@@supermariofan03 I don't know about that, Konami has been doing fine in Japan. Sure, they lost their greatest manpower, but they've been making slow progress in getting back in games... just not AAA ones, that one is out of their reach now (and in all honesty, AAA games tending to make a gigantic mess and controversies, maybe they had a point...). Even in 2020, they absolutely did nothing, they look like they're just punished for existing and people refusing to forget their debacle at 2015-2016. Mark my words, it will stay as their black mark and probably why they won't be back in the mainstay game scene for awhile (they cancelled A LOT of their E3 appearances, probably not to embarass themselves further). Or maybe forever. I dunno. While Blizzard just can't seem to get away from ANY controversies and yet continuing to act like a big shot. Even Konami had enough sense to be like "OK, OK, we suck now, you can insult me all you want. We'll just stay locked up in our home turf..." while Blizzard continued to make excuses after excuses while also making new controversies AFTER new controversies (Konami at least made sure that the 2015 controversy would be their last big controversy.) (Also bonus: Square-Enix just came in and said to them: "Hey remember that one time I tried to kill your MMO, failed horribly that I had to restructure it from scratch? Well it's still here, eating up your former players. Who's laughing now, hmmm??")

One more game (Metal Gear Survive) to make them realize that Triple A thing is just no longer something they're capable of. Blizzard felt more like the meme "HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN!?" They continue to act as if they're still the beloved big shot when they were already heaped with so many controversies. Even Konami wasn't that delusional. They had enough sense to know that "Yeah, we weren't as big as before anymore." Pyroniusburn I’m an Alliance player and have to agree, the Horde got completely screwed with Vol’jin’s death, and Sylvanas was the least logical successor. I have doubts that Blizzard even had the idea of Shadowlands in mind when they decided to promote her, it was so poorly justified.

Not to mention they lazily repeat the MOP story beat for beat.

But this crunch is probably one of the worst ever, the development of Witcher the devs force the workers for overtime near the beginning of the project and for many months. The worst part is that the development was in a cult like system, where the upper ups and seniors will be revered and love while those lower in the totem poll are push and abuse. As a former developer mentioned "People and the media love them, but the employees hates them" and that's because they are the masters of marketing and PR which shows a horrible reality that companies with good images can getaway with this since nobody is willing to go against what many people love or speak up against their legion of fans,

Gearbox and Rockstar both deserve separate lists for how many scummy things they've both done. And on the subject of 2K, Firaxis should get a seperate one as well, for releasing broken game after broken game and charging horrific prices for anyone not in the US. (Civ: Beyond Earth wasn't worth $50 US according to many. Australia was getting charged $90 US.)

Valve responded quickly and communicated with TF2 fans with the Crate Depression, but usually what ya said is 'pretty much' of what Valve usually does.

To be fair, they pretty much KNOW that whatever they make will be dissapointing, and they're already making a decent income from Steam. That's why all they made in the last few years was a mediocre DOTA spinoff card game and a decent DOTA spinoff auto chess game.

Oh the big prediction that will almost certainly be number 1 if not occupy a few spots on the list is how Valve has let Steam become a sewage pipe for broken games, bad asset flips, and intentionally hateful products without doing any sort of active quality control, addressing the causes, and only responding after an issue has become too big to ignore, after which point it is far too late

It's bad enough that while I acknowledge that the Konami debacle will still stay as 'how to be really scummy', Blizzard looked like they're taking what they did... and EXPANDED ON IT. Damn it, Konami became shit in everyone's eyes so it would become a warning story that shouldn't be repeated, NOT TO BE REPEATED AND THEN MADE WORSE!! Konami might have mistreated Kojima, but at least that didn't extend into humiliating him in public with such vital information (even moreso than the ones on their employers), and last I heard they're on better terms now! (It's still a dick move, lemme tell ya. But Blizzard's...? No... Just no.) Honestly, I end up appreciating that Konami has gone majorly silent since Contra Rogue Corps. They could've dug themselves deeper by continuing to stay in the limelight and tripping up here and there (which is what Blizzard did, still thinking that they're still great big shot that everybody loves), but they chose to have an exodus and prevented any further big controversies. Not the best redeeming point, but still a little better than 'Making things worse for yourself'.

Rare used to be a 3rd party developer for Nintendo, and all of the games they made for Nintendo are considered great games (GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong franchise, etc)

Number 1 is definitely gonna be accidentally creating Playstation. Nothing is worse for a company financially than making a strong competitor that has beaten them 3 out of 4 times

I mean, before Nintendo only had to deal with crappy consoles and SEGA (though we know how that went) and i think Sony giving it a shot to tackle such a company and doing great gave us a new era of gaming. One i was glad to be part of as i owned a N64 and PS1 at the same time.

I'd like one of Epic afterwards but so far their only flaws were all regarding the rushed release of the EGS in its barebones state and the timed exclusives.
