The Lake District is a region and a national park in Cumbria in the north west England. A popular tourist spot, it’s known for its glacial lakes, rugged hills / mountains and rich history.
All the land in England higher than 3,000 feet (914 m) above sea level is in the National Park, including Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. It also contains the deepest and largest natural lakes in England.
With beautiful coast, ancient hamlets and hidden valleys, the villages make up a big part of the character of the area.

We moved to Ulverston last year and have visited a few of these places. Grasmere is my favourite that we've been to so far. I can't drive past without grabbing some of their famous gingerbread! I will show my wife this video and plan in some extra trips!!

As someone who has lived in the Lake District all their life, my video of favourite places in the area wouldn't include the tourist hot-beds, such as Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere, Coniston etc... No, I'd be going to the quieter, less frequented but (to me) equally glorious villages and hamlets *rarely* frequented by tourists, more over the Eastern edge of the Lake District, bordering on North Yorkshire..... still scenic, but without the hordes of people, yellow lines, and endless gift shops and tea shops.

Hello. I will be in London for the first time in April and I have been told to visit the Lake District .Your video showed a whole different part of the Lake District that I would LOVE to visit. How can I travel to all of the places you showed in your video? Rent a car and drive around? Thank you. Just stunning!

Wow, what a difference you'll find..... Just remember to get yourself a good Winter coat. We have Winter, followed by 6 months of bad weather here in the Lakes. I wouldn't live anywhere else though...... Where specifically are you moving to?

@@grimjim1599 I couldn't ever imagine living in a city. As I type this I'm looking out of my lounge window at fields, trees and sunshine. I can't see any other houses or roads........
