i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any tips you can give me
@Clayton Jordan I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Awesome list! Glad to see lapidus on there I actually kind of like it. I recently tried m/mink by byredo and that is a serious power house it has the same urinal cake vibe as lapidus but more powerful without the pineapple to even it out some serious stuff the only person I see wearing it is the hulk. If you get a chance check it out its insane. Keep up the good work man.
Great review as always but there are a few notable omissios that in my humble oppinion should have made your list!Habit Rouge by Guerlain for one!Escada pour homme,Paco Rabanne pour homme,Santos by Cartier,Acteur by Azzaro and a few others!!Perhaps you'll include some in a future presentation!!
Two very good lists! One for part 3 - Caron Yatagan - (pine, castoreum, moss, wood and smoke!) and perhaps Platinum Egoiste, I much prefer Egoiste as a fragrance but I think its is more refined and Gentlemanly, Platinum Egoiste seems to my nose a bit more rugged with a type of shaving cream vibe.
Really nice video brother! Can you do a video on fragrances you wore when you first started wearing cologne. And the people who influenced your fragrance journey as a kid.
Great second part! Nice addition of Chanel Egoiste. The best masculine Chanel IMO. Lot of quality and complexity Let's see some another masculine fragrances (for part 3!!) -Quorum Silver: great fresh spicy, a lot of ginger, lavender and cedar. - Lanvin Avant Garde: This is very sweet but with an interesting combination of beeswax and tobacco. Sadly discontinued. It goes to the same way to the DHP; 21 century masculinity. - Van Cleef & Arpels pour homme: awesome. YSL Jazz/VC&A Tsar: Good old school fougeres with a lot of depth. Herrera for men: Vintage version is really good! Lalique encre noire (and flankers) Balmain Carbone: smells like a wood pencil, rare at first but interesting has a lot of depth because it has a resinous base. Bye and Greetings from Punta Arenas, south of Chile!
@mrsmelly1977 really interesting video and you have done justice to the golden era of FRAGRANCES! i was wondering which fragrance is the closest to YSL pour Homme in your opinion?!
Hi bit late to this, I was wondering what your thoughts on Moschino UOMO are. I use to wear it many years ago as my adult mature scent. Love your videos and humour.
Dior homme parfum... I totally agree. They released it the same year they release the eau version so you can have a winter flanker and a summer flanker and they're both great releases
When I was sixteen one of my Christmas presents was some cheap Walsall Market abhoration called Gino Di Ferrari. It stank like the Gorilla pit at Dudley Zoo so on that point alone it was quite masculine.
I'm very big on your interpretation of "masculine" fragrances , but i do own qiute a few ... Egoiste Platinum , Eau Sauvage/Parfum/Extreme .. , Bois du Portugal, Vetiver by Guerlain,Oud Malaki by Chopard , Antidote and a few more ... SOTD Unforsaken by Kerosene
Great list, as always! I remember getting some of these as gifts when I was young and wearing them to school in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I wish some of them were still more readily available. I like the inclusion of Dior Homme Parfum too. It is one of my favorites in my current collection, and I wish I had more occasions on which to wear it. Keep up the good work and maybe your subscribers will buy you an Italian sports car. I heard it happens nowadays 👍 #smellyarmy
Ted Lapidus PH is really a fragrance that will grow on you. I am 18 years old, and I thought I made a mispurchase. The more I wear it, the more I get used to it and love it. A girl that I'm dating at the moment, she's 17, absolutely loves it!
Quorum was very Good to Me ! Great Choices ! I remember getting a bottle of Xeryus for my Graduation among other things. I also remember Halston z-14 being very masculine and Salvador Dali. But I think it all depended on availability in different areas. Or what we heard someone we were interested in say was there favourite.
Replace the plastic packaging of the clubman aftershave with the glass one. Wait 1 or 2 weeks to use again. I did it with clubman vanilla and it became an elegant and refined smell for 1 hour. The plastic in the packaging inhibits many notes which will not occur in the glass packaging. Take the test and then tell me the result! Greetings from Brazil!
Great presentation and list, Mr. Smelly. All quality (and qualified).😉 I have two to nominate for part 3: Montana Parfum d'Homme - a piney oakmoss number w/ leather and aldehides. Also, Carven Homme (not pour homme) - another Sandalwood dominate frag that is 100% distinguished gentleman. Both are also quite affordable. Let's project! #smellyarmy 💨💨💨💨
Egoiste has been on my wish list for a couple of years now. A few days ago I caved in and bought a bottle. Now Chanel Egoiste is on your most masculine list. Oh dear, I`m not a very manly woman. Going to wear Egoiste and a dress:-) Found your channel through smurfygirly`s btw. Been enjoying your intros, they are hillarious! Thumbs up - new subbie for sure.
I would include Beckham Homme here. It's centered around woody, leather and woolly notes, with hot spices like pepper and ginger to back those notes up, to give them freshness and power. Not a sweet note anywhere in this one, so definitely a very manly scent. It's a bit unusual to have a fragrance with all these woody-spicy notes, and then not have any sweet notes to contrast it with. But it does mean it has a very unique smell, and something that makes you stand out. Not something you would expect from a mass-market celebrity fragrance. And it's super cheap, and has good performance. I don't know why it hasn't got more hype. If it's because people are scared away by its uniqueness, or just because they are prejudiced against the Beckham name.
great list!!!! nice to see my favorite old school juice---azzaro. if you get a chace, try to get your hands on the 2015 flanker called Azzaro Pour Homme Intense. It's a fantastic boozy cinammon edp version that retains some of the original character with a modern age that doesn't pander to the mass appeal. very little attention in frag comm, probably because it's another flanker.
Another great list :) Dior Homme Parfume is most masculine from Dior Homme line and definitely a powerhouse :) Hope to see part 3 with Oscar de la Renta - Pour Lui and Giorgio Beverly Hills PH :)
hey dude what about YSL opium for men loved this when i was at uni just found an old bottle fantastic also grey flannel by geoffrey beane - very masculine IMO super long lasting and powerful but a bit polarising
I never FFWD Mr. Smelly’s intro nor should anyone! Mr. Smelly’s vids only one I can say this about. All other reviewers get the FFWD taps here on RU-vid. Great Job as always Mr. Stinky...oops I mean Mr. Smelly...😜
Haven't smelled this for 25 years but I remember liking it more than Lapidus PH. A classic gentleman's fragrance as I remember. I had a small 5ml bottle which was part of a 5 fragrance gift set. I think the others were Joop, Lapidus, Boss something and Paco Rabanne Sport. Good times.
Tom Ford Anthracite is perhaps the most manly - not blokey, but not gentlemanly either - fragrance I have in my regular rotation. I'm getting addicted to it.
Dior Homme Parfum is a very manly parfum in my opinion. It is heavy and the oud component makes it even kind of dark. It's perfect for a man's night out in the cold season and way to sinister for a woman to wear.
Caractere by Daniel Hechter (1989). Drug store scent at this point, have not seen any reviews of this on RU-vid. Woody leather, bergamot and spices. I have a reformulation, which you can buy for 10 euros for 50 ml. Big opening, manly and animalic, becomes an skin scent after. Its like a (very) poor mans synthetic Antaeus. I seen it compared to Jules, but have not smelled that one yet.
Daniel Hechter! Now there's a name from the past. I had several beautiful Daniel Hechter sportsjackets back in the 1980's. I was probably wearing Paul Sebastian, Azzaro Pour Homme or Chanel Pour Monsieur in those days. I think I was wearing one of my Hechter's with a nice pair of pants, a pressed shirt and tie when a younger and very attractive Carolina Herrera walked into the elevator in the 5th Avenue building I was working in at the time. I'm pretty sure she noticed how I was put together that moment!
Dior pour homme should not be in this list, that Iris note give it that feminine touch, I like iris but in women's skin definitely to me that disqualify it from this list.
