I love Espeon's sprite especially in Pokemon Crystal. He was the first eevee I got and I even put him in my starting 6 because I liked how he looked and some of his movesets. I always taught Espeon Psychic because I felt it fit the pokemon. I even eventually decided that Espeon was my favorite pokemon up to pokemon white/black and favorite eeveevoultion.

I love the geodude sprite in Crystal, sure it uses Gold's sprite when it's static, but when it does its animation it looks like it's knocking on the screen from inside the game. It's just goofy and I like it.

crystal had updated, moving sprites, crystal was the first game i think was fully polished/finished when it was released

I kinda have a theory about that Raikou sprite: Maybe that sprite was supposed to represent his beta form. It looks completely unique and different from all the other sprites we've seen of Raikou over the years. Perhaps it isn't an error, but an old design that was eventually switched out for the Raikou we know of today.

In gold and silver, Porygon's sprite really helps it earn its name in France if you look at the head. If you didn't know, his French name is '3D Long'

It doesn't work with the Gold sprite, but try battling an Umbreon with Sand-Attack in Silver or Crystal...oh my. Some of my favorite-looking sprites are Eevee in Silver/Crystal, Blastoise in Gold/Crystal, Geodude in Gold/Crystal, Gyarados in Silver/Crystal, and Dragonite in Gold/Crystal. Some of the weird-looking ones in my opinion are Arcanine in Gold, Eevee in Gold, Flareon in Silver (those EYES!), all three Legendary Beasts in Gold/Silver, Mewtwo in Silver, and Graveler in Gold/Silver (They gave it a new one in Crystal).

Question. Why do they keep making multiple game but in the same region. Gold silver and crystals are Johto, leaf green and fire red are kanto, emerald and ruby, sapphire are all hoenn , and platinum, diamond and pearl are sinnoh. Why not just make just 1 game for each region. Why three for each. It's basically the same thing

overall I found your complaints about these sprites to be less of a bother than you made them out to be, which is fine. even if say, houndoom, looks alright to me, I have to say its crystal sprite looks so much better. recently I got a look at nidoking's gen 2 sprite, one of the many gen 1 pokemon I wouldn't likely use in johto. it looks really good!
