Problem with E.T. was more people didn't know how to play it. In a time when the point was to get as high as score as possible before you die. E.T. was pretty unintuitive. Also I'm working on a video on a game I can prove that is much worse than anything on your list >:D

I was kinda hoping to actually see Superman 64 on here. That game was broken as hell. Also, many licensed games I've played. A lot of them are pretty bad. When I was a little kid, I played Herbie Fully Loaded on GBA. I picked it up, did one race, then sold it at a garage sale, never to be seen again. True story. It was pretty awful, but a lot of games are arguably worse. Which for an industry like video games, is pretty sad.

Also, I don't think Custer's Revenge is infamous because it had bad gameplay. It's just infamous because it offended EVERYONE.

Seriously speaking, Big Rigs should not be on this list. It is bad because it wasn't completed, not because it was badly programmed, and it provides lots of entertainment actually. Like speeding up to infinity and all sorts of things happening when you do that, or phasing through everything, or contemplating the fact that this game was actually released. And to put it at number 2 when you have games like Road to Hell is a bit ridiculous, to be honest.

I totally agree about E.T. being at number 1. I so totally remember playing that game when I was 4 or 5 years old. And at the time I really like that game. This is going back to the mid 80s. At that age I really didn't know that E.T. was consider one of the worst games ever made. Now that I am 36 years old. I know better now at what games are good and what games are not good. And E.T. is definitely one of the worst games I ever played with in my entire life.

One time, I seen Ninjabread Man in my local game shop. I brought it up to the counter and asked why they had it. They replied with "So we don't have to look at it."

Amazing idea. I hope someone influential steals it. A new Bubbsy game, which sardonically acknowledges how absolutely terrible the 3rd game was and how largely obnoxious the first two were. The third game could be about questing to steal every remaining copy of Bubbsy 3D to destroy them.

Oh my God! That Elf Bowling totally hit me in the nostalgia feels! I had completely forgotten about that game until seeing this. I remember playing that browser game so much at school when I was a teenager, it was such a dumb game but got me through several semesters of CA1 & CA2. I will be honest, ET is actually kind of overhated, mainly as a result of most of the complaints being around the aftermath of it instead of the actual game itself. First of all, it was an Atari 2600 game. There are very few games on that system that still worth playing today, and it is often judged by the standards that games of nowadays have. Granted it is still crap by Atari 2600 standards but it is not hard to find Atari 2600 games that are worse. Also the thing about it being developed in only six weeks, the original King's Quest had a similar development time and that game is considered a classic.

As a former mental patient I resent that remark. Manic episodes give you the BEST ideas man.

The redeeming quality of Big Rigs is that you can use it as a teaching tool. "And this, class, is why the alpha testing stage is so important. Be less like Big Rigs. Iron out your bugs."

"Rapelay" - a game the encourages the rape and molestation of a woman and her two daughters, with points being awarded for how stealthfully you do the filthy deed, and game over being if you impregnate one of the women, or if your stamina reaches zero during a rape. A disgusting, putrid, hellscape of a game that shouldn't even f-ing exist. That's my pick for worst game of all time.

Kill me and bury my body in a landfill for saying this, but.......... E.T isn't as bad as it is thought to be. Just because, I don't know, a few 30 people thought it was "the worst game ever", if you work out what's happening... I don't know. Cut the guy who made this some slack, though. He had 5 weeks to make a game based off a block - busting movie, which would have to be equally as good to get attention. *5 weeks* worth of game making is not enough time to get it just as popular as the movie. Stephen Spielberg was showed the game, and he approved of it, so it wasn't the game maker's fault that it was such a flop. The guy who made it was given the task because he had made such good work of the Indiana Jones game, but there was alot more to work off for that, considering the movie just *asked* for a platformer (it was pretty clear that, with the adventurous style of the movie, platforming would be the obvious choice).

Okay... Sorry, but I can't take this into account. It's honestly kinda hard to swallow. How would someone put Sonic 06 in the same list as the ET game? And WHY?? I mean, I admit FREELY that Sonic 06 is riddled with glitches, but at the very least the story WAS enjoyable, and while it was a bit off-line for a Sonic game, it still presented a bigger scale and bigger risks for the characters some people grew up with. It has TONS of pros, but putting him in the same list as the game that caused the Crash is just mind-boggling. Sonic 06 isn't THAT awful, and definitely not meant to be so despised. Dare I say, it's perhaps underrated. I'm not saying it isn't bad and that everything Sonic-related is golden (Shadow the Hedgehog the video game can go die in bullet hell) but what I ask is a review of listing.

There's a running joke I've been hearing (and using) for a while now: When a game's total shit, just put Bethesda's name on the box, and it'll be named Game of the Year before it's E3 reveal is over. If Bethesda doesn't say anything, you'll get away with it, because people won't be able to tell the difference.

The infinite speed bug in Big Rigs is a similar bug to one I once made a long time ago, The difference is: 1. I was a total amateur, messing about in GameMaker, and they were (supposedly) professionals 2. My little projects that included the bug were never even games - just experiments 3. It took me no time at all to spot, and fix the bug, and I was just a kid - these adults couldn't even get it done for release!

I knew number 1 would be E.T. That game was atrocious because it failed at being BASED off of a classic. Not only that but it just failed overall. It's one of those games that have you think: "Were the creators of this mentally handicapped?" (Sorry if that sound offensive.) The game failed because the physics of the game seem like they're not really there or aren't working for that matter. Even broken game can be fun (exploiting glitches has value, specially if they require a certain level of technical ability.) E.T. is on the opposite side of broken games that can be fun... It's broken and it has glitches that just happen. The glitches require no skill and with garbage physics (easily, the worst of any game I'ved played), that's pretty much the last nail in the coffin.
