I met Mike one time before a Rancid concert. He was just standing at the front door. Everyone was walking by and didn’t notice him. I said hi, he then proceeded to talk to me for an hour. Just shooting the shit. He was asking more questions to me than I was to him. Nice guy. What a character.
I always thought Punk N Drublic was their one true masterpiece. It had all the best elements of who nofx were but also paved the way for what their sound and style would eventually evolve to. It had the intensity of S & M Airlines but ended softly with classic gems like Reeko. What was best about being 13 in 1994 was that i had my whole teen years to watch the pinnacle of 90s skate punk evolve into all these wonderful sub genres.. its good seeing fat mike still relevant and the same
A few years ago he wrote a guest article for a German music magazine where he named Suffer his favorite album. However, he states in this video, that the three records mentioned may not be his favorites but rather a selection of 3 records you can listen to front to back wihtout skipping.
"The decline" is not the best NoFX song but The total artwork of this century. As if God had managed to express himself philosophically through NoFX and Cesar Cepeda so that finally the human being becomes aware of the love he owes to himself.

Two of his top 3 are my fav two of my top three of their songs! So disappointed I didn't hear The Decline when I saw them live. It is an 18 min or so song tho.

He used to be. He changed his mind for some reason. It's actually pretty funny, because he became a vegetarian shortly after Liberal Animation was released, which had a ton of anti-vegetarian songs on it.
