Guy doesn't come off as a douchebag to me. I think his relationship with Nardwuar is like that one friendship where you're so close that you degrade one another as a sign of affection.
In the GG Allin video called "Live and Pissed" of that show when the camera pans to the audience you can see Fat Mike and Jello several times. That was in 1988.

I know, who doesn't realize that Fat Mike is almost always joking around. This is interview #6 so if it is so bad then why would Nardwuar keep doing them? Obviously there is mutual respect and Fat Mike is just trying to be entertaining. Interviews are usually lame, and he's making sure this one is not by maybe being a jerk but he is putting that on for the sake of entertainment value. Who wants to watch Fat Mike be polite? that's stupid.
I think nardwaur would throw hands almost immediately on GG as a sign of domination, knocking GG out. The camera crew would stand over a splayed out GG and scream "he need sum milk" with the type of enthusiasm that only comes from seeing nardwaur deck out electric luncheon meat with a boxers skill and precision.

People don't get Fat Mike.. but that's quite alright 'cause he probably doesn't want them to. He's a true legend, not an asshole.. well, maybe a bit of an asshole, but a legend nonetheless!
why is he a legend? He had more luck then other bands. Its good to see him as a legend but the point is, he got more luck then others. I think everyone is a legend, in their own kinda way.
He start the independent record label Fat Wreck Chords and got Lagwagon, NUFAN, ect ect... and signed some other fantastic bands. Pretty sure luck has nothing to do with all that.
Williame Salvador If you actually look at what Fat Mike has accomplished, I'd say it has nothing to do with luck, but everything to do with hard work. Fat Mike though doesn't like to portray that persona of hard-working, but you can't get any where near as successful as him without hard-work. NOFX's independent-mainstream success and Fat Wreck Chords successes (whether it be 90s bands such as Lagwagon/NUFAN selling millions of records or 00s bands such as Rise Against/Anti-Flag/Against Me! getting big) are strong indicators of his work.
I love punk rock, but always feel like the "scene" is to highbrow for me! I mean taking dumps on stage and spitting at people...way too cultured for types like me!
He says nard doesn't have discerning taste, that's a good point. Intellectual punk rocker, the last of them. Now most punks you encounter just bark at you.
What are yall talking about, Fat Mike is clearly enjoying this interview. If he didn't, he wouldn't let Nardwuar interview him six times. And if he wasn't interested, he'd have walked away at the Wesley Willis question instead of just not answering. If you didn't expect sardonic humor from the singer of NOFX, I don't know what to tell ya.
Mah, Fat Mikes ok once you get used to his character. It's kind of an act to be honest. I met him after a show in Bristol and he hung out with people and let them go up to the hotel with him. Also the show was pretty fucking fun if not a little overcrowded.
so funny... that gg show is on youtube if you can find it. you can see fat mike and jello in the crowd a bunch but you don't get to see fat mike dive behind jello. i dunno how to find it... search?
People if Fat Mike actually didn't like Nardwuar he wouldn't do interviews with him so many times, NOFX are not big fans of giving interviews. If you actually want to see people annoyed with Nardwuar go watch his first Hank Rollins vid or the Wu-Tang one.
Fat Mike and Nardwuar are incredible human beings, and it gives me hope that such people are out there. The amount of work that they put into their work is so under-rated and unknown...But Fat Mike has proven that he has many talents and Nardwuar has shown himself, time and time again, to be an outstandingly well-informed interviewer. Please...PLEASE!...don't ever stop guys... \m/ >.

I've listen to NOFX probably... 3 times in my entire life. Like a song, a half a song, and a song playing out of someones car radio one night as I was driving by them. I don't like NOFX, I don't even know really who the fuck Fat Mike is other than he sings for this band and plays guitar. But yet, somehow I keep coming back to this interview over and over again. Constantly rewatching because it's so god damn entertaining.
