I’ve applied for my wife’s subsequent entrant and been 5 months already but haven’t heard anything from the department. Can we do anything about it? I was filling out the Australia Eta and it ask (Alias). Has the applicant ever been known by any other name? My question is 50 years ago I got married. So I was known then with my maiden name. So would I click on yes ? I wouldn't think that was a alias, so that's why I'm not sure what to click. Thank you

What is the point of a 12 month visa if you can only stay for 90 days? That's stupid. Do they really expect tourists to fly and and fly out every 3 months?

Wait what - they'll go through your phone??? Can you tell us more about stuff like that? Is this only upon exiting the country? Or like entry too? That sounds so terrifying. And tbh a little worrying. Like maybe Australia's immigration officers are nice but i would feel racially/personally targeted tbh. Gosh. What kind of reasons would they have? yes they will often go through you phone or laptop , wallet or any papers you have ,they can even search your pockets or frisk search you, thats their job to do that, if you are from a high risk country of overstay you are more likely to face checks then if you are from a western country like the USA or UK, it has nothing to do with racism but the country you come from
Border force can do it to anyone. I was checked after re entering Australia from Vietnam for the 4th time very close to eachother. I wad seeing my fiance they checked me and took my phone to search it.

I've heard there is a problem aka being rejected if you mention your boyfriend and you're applying with tourist visa. That's why I'm about to say that I'm coming over strictly for tourist case and not to visit my bf. I mean I'm bssically coming for both. And I'm planning to return back to my home country.
I heard that with the tourist visa not there is I think a condition in the law where you can ask or you can explain to them that you're coming into the country with the intention of applying for a partner Visa and that they that you're allowed to request that I heard that from another migration lawyer
I just realized that typed that wrong. I believe that there is something in the law where you can request a tourist visa but you can also tell them that you have the intention to apply for another visa on shore like a partner Visa or something like that
Hey! Goodluck with you recieving your Visa. I lodged mine on 25th Sep. And like she said US residents get their Aussie Visa in 24-48 hrs normally. But its been a week now. I only hope we get ours sooner. Good luck everyone.
