You are in the big blind playing in a $1/$2 NL Cash Game and are facing 4 limpers. What is the bottom of your value range that you decide to raise?

my bottom hands are 94 sootered when 4 limped ahead of me, pot sized raise, i use the 3x last bet plus formula. most of my opponents eventually stop limping at some point ( i play mostly multi table tourneys) i think cash game my range goes narrower to like pocket pairs, K7 off +. same pot sized bet recently played live in LA mtt, there were many remembered players and archetypes there. i remembered very rapidly how quick they fold to aggressions, and how many hands i fold pre flop position, position, position

I’m raising JJ+ and just checking in AK- and TT-. Players that limp are typically worse post-flop as well so I just wait to make a hand, blast, and scoop!

On extremely rare occasions, in early position on very aggressive tables, I have limp called an early position open with AA expecting someone in a later position to steal the 'dead money'. I only do this when I am like UTG2/3 and UTG opened with a limp, and I have a high level of certainty that someone in late position will raise. When I reraise as the 2nd limper, they always believe I am just stealing and probably 90% of the time I do this, I get heads up, all in preflop heads up when I have AA.

An important part on punishing limpers from the Blinds is how often are you squeezing from the Blinds. There are many players who OVER squeeze and this can have lead to really strong hands limping late, because they know you'll put money into the pot and open up action for them to raise. I see this often, even at lower stakes poker in Las Vegas.

Here is a scenario: I was in the big blind with 2,3 and one other player limped in and I checked flop comes 223 I checked she bet 1200 I check raised to 3500 she thought I had a 2 and folded and showed her pair of QQ. If she had called she could have easily won if a 2 or Q had have come on turn or river. Biggest reason to raise 3 times their bet to stop her from beating me. She probably made a mistake by not raising on pre flop. I think she was limping to trap. Can you comment on my action?

In your master class, do you go over small stakes 1/3? I've been getting crushed when I have decent cards and raise preflop and get called by suited connectors or gaps that hit the flop or make trips. I feel like I make the right moves, but my sizing is off and I let my opponents see cards too cheaply.

What does it mean "play straghtforwardly post flop"? e.g. i have 9-9 and flop 4-5-k, play as normal at this point?

Wait confused so From SB Fold hands with huge reverse implied odds: Ex- k5o BUT raise with bluffs that can’t call Ex: k6o Is a K5o THAT much different than K6o to completely change the strategy?
@ChristopherB123
@ChristopherB123 Год назад
I noticed that as well. I think a couple things come into play... (1) You don't ever want to be *calling* with that kind of hand. (2) You're raising that junk only in certain circumstances... i.e., when you are up against mostly limp-fold players (3) you're only doing this with a small subset of your junky hands. If you take this to say raise all K6o+ then you're bluffing WAY too wide. I believe that hand is there just an example, but the idea is to just throw in an occasional stab every once in a while with junk so you can occasionally steal limps with a worse hand, and you retain a bit of balance so they can't completely exploit you because you're only raising with strong hands. If those hands do get called, you must tread VERY carefully postflop as they are often dominated when you hit and get action.

Yesterday a limper called my barrells all the way to the river to show flopped aces full (he had AA). Some of them completely miss the raise button. *big facepalm*

These strategies sounds logical, but you should try these strategies on play money if you looking to practice to get your A game going for real cash game?, you going to end up playing like play money at the real cash tables and then go broke because you're going to fall like a knit. 😂

Yep. Where I play 1-2, typical hands see 4-5 limpers, and if you raise to 7-9bb you still get 3-4 callers most hands.
