What do you do if doctors don't listen? I'm 23 an scared that I'll never be taken seriously. I was told no one would care until I'm 26 an honestly I'm so tired of the pain I don't want a utris anymore.

My experience has been that doctors only care about your gyn issues when you tell them you wanna get pregnant. So tell them that even if you don't want to.

Get new doctors. Be sure to tell them you don't want pain meds, but to do a few test to see what's wrong and have the problem removed or fixed. Do you have a family history of women having a named condition like endorsement? If so, be sure to tell the doc.

This video was super helpful. I am new to your channel and find all your content so helpful! Thank you! I am getting married this year, I'm 30, and my husband and I would love to start a family. He mentioned IVF a few times as he is 15 years older than me and now I'm wondering whether it should be our first port of call. I have always had painful periods since the start, but a lot of women around me and in my family did too. On the first day of my period only, I get a lot of pain and I have to take painkillers regularly that day if I want to have a normal day. So now I'm wondering if it is Endo... I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and auto immune runs in my family... so that's almost half of the things you mentioned! Thank you so much for this video. I feel like I have to think more broadly now about family planning/options.

I had a miscarriage and then my son was born 3 years later. He is now 18 months old and we have been trying since he was born for baby number 2 and it just isn’t happening. I have never been on BC and my period comes every month between 30-36 days. If I have a period every month is there any reason why it’s taking me up to 3 years to get pregnant?

Hi! I’m 32 when I was 25 my obgyn had me do the nexplanon implant for painful cramping. I’ve never been diagnosed but I thought it was a possibility. I did 2 full years and my 3rd was about 1.5 years. So 7.5 years of constant birth control hormones. Well now I am 3 months and a week post removal and my period has not returned. (I do have an appointment set for next Wednesday) The reason I am concerned is because pre birth control my cycles were super reliable. I even had one about every 4 months on nexplanon. My only other red flag is I am higher BMI, and was diagnosed as insulin resistance. I have lost 60lbs since then and still losing. With the insulin resistance and things like growth of facial hair I am now thinking maybe I have PCOS. I live in small town rural Idaho and am frustrated that I have never been educated on any of this. So in short I am curious what blood work or tests I need to ask for when I go in next week for these concerns. - lack of returning periods - possible pcos or other issues - high cortisol levels - anything else you think might be an issue. Sorry about rambling 😊

I was also in bc for 5 years that completely took away my period I gained so much weight I finally decided to get off it took around 3/4 mo for my period to come back and when it did I bleed for 7/8 mo straight my doc keep telling me to get the bc but I new my body was just regulating itself and I didn’t want to prolong it any longer I’ve been bc free for 3 years and it was the best decision ever my hormones are regular my period come like clockwork and my weight has dropped significantly to my normal pre bc healthy weight a lot of my friends also Experience this after long term bc use I know it’s so confusing no one body is the same but I hope everything works out for you and everything starts flowing correctly wishing you best of luck 🤞🏼 (:

Well done on losing that weight, what an amazing effort. Secondly, it is very frustrating that we as girls and women are not educated about how hormonal birth control can affect our cycles, I completely agree. Just so you know, hormonal contraceptives work by stopping ovulation which means that you don't usually produce your own hormones, oestrogen and progesterone while you're taking them. Essentially the communication between your brain and your ovaries stops working and it can be normal for this communication to kick back in and regulate again. The weight and insulin resistance can also delay ovulation, but you are working on improving that. It is good timing also, cause you can only test for hormones 3 months after stopping hormone contraceptives as it takes this long for them to be detectable again. If you had regular periods before, this may not be PCOS but post-pill PCOS. Testosterone and insulin are tested when looking into Pcos, prolactin can also delay periods and hinder progesterone production. You could track your cervical mucus and this will tell you that your body is producing oestrogen and trying to ovulate, just know that your body might try and ovulate a few times before it is successful. I hope this helps x

Just took at day 21 progesterone (actually day 23) and my progesterone level is 7.9 ng/ml. What does that mean for fertility? I'm TTC! I remember hearing it's supposed to be greater than 10?

The part of testosterone was confusing. How does taking supplements reduce chance of sperm production when it’s needed for sperm production. Would you clarify that part for me. Thank you.

What bmi should we aim for? Unfortunately, I'm on the high side. I'm working on it and making progress... would this effect egg quantities if I wanted to freeze my eggs or embryos while I keep working to loose more weight?

I’m 29, got off Nexplanon bc in March and have used this form of bc since I was 18 years old to prevent pregnancy to focus on my nursing career. So far we have TTC the past 2 cycles, AF showed up today full flow, so starting cycle 3 now. My cycle ranges 31-35 days since off bc. Do you have experience on women who try to conceive after nexplanon implant? Thanks for this video! 😊

Taking hormonal birth control usually shuts down ovulation, which means you don't produce your own reproductive hormones, estrogen and progesterone. So the communication between your brain and your ovaries is shut down. This can take some time to regulate again. Having cycles in between 31-35 days is still within the healthy range. It is good to have a few months in between stopping hormone contraceptives and trying to conceive to regulate hormones again. The eggs journey when it gets blood supply in your ovary is about 100-120 days before ovulation, so you want this amount of time to be healthy and regulate hormones, which will improve quality of the egg and better quality hormones to help conception but especially implantation, you want good progesterone for that. So, give your body time to regulate itself.

@@jessicafunk9414 All hormonal contraceptives shut down your internal hormones as their purpose is to stop ovulation. Your body can take some time to regulate itself again. It is good you have a Dr appointment set, you can't test for hormones before 3 months after stopping birth control as it can take this amount of time for your hormones to start producing again. If your periods were irregular before starting hormonal birth control it can take a little bit longer to come back after. Hope this helps

With an AMH of .92 OAR report on CD4 (Quest said it was 1.12 on CD 3) and 5 follicles seen on CD 2 and 7 seen on CD 4, would you suggest IVF? I’m 33 and we at least want 2 kids
@noornoornoor23
@noornoornoor23 Месяц назад
Hi Natalie! Thank you for this valuable information. I understand the implications of low AMH. But also curious what high AMH (7 ng/ml) in a 33 year old woman means for fertility? I know it can hint towards PCOS but what if the person doesn't have any other criteria for PCOS? (No irregular periods, no excessive hair, no cyst signs on ultrasound). Thank you for all you do! Its because of you that I feel knowledgeable about my body.
@mgoogle8192
@mgoogle8192 Месяц назад
I am also 33 and I took my AMH twice - my fertility doc said that AMH readings can be off. My first was a 3.8 and second was a 5 (which is above average for this age) but he ruled out PCOS and said that a 5 is still in the range of normal for 33. you should get yours taken again, but 7 might be in range for you too.

Hi am 25 years old and ever since i had my periods i had a mestruation of 40-45 days apart some people say i might have hormonal imbalance . What do you think is wrong with me, am scared i might have a huge problem tell me doctor what shoud i do ? Help me doctor
@amanda_howe
@amanda_howe Месяц назад
Even though you have long cycles, they are still regular for you. It might mean you ovulate later (your body takes longer to ovulate), but you probably still ovulate. You could have your thyroid checked and prolactin checked as these could make menstrual cycles longer. Please don't be scared, it is unlikely there is something serious happening. You just need to know that you are ovulating later and when the time comes if you want to have a baby, you will need to identify ovulation, which is approximately 14 days before your period. I hope this helps

Hi Natalie, I'm just wondering if the use of SSRI's (namely escitalopram + paroxetine) effect fertility? I'm 39 and have been on both of these medications at different times since the age of 16. I'm in the early stages of TTC and just worry about the effects of these on my fertility.

Same! Been told my my dr that it won’t effect fertility. Been trying for about 7 months and had one chemical in this time. Only time will tell I suppose.
