Yo at 3:08 , you were high key gassed Mikole because Jina's friend found a black guy attractive 😂😂 Like 'Yo, my G representing and doing our people proud' 🤣 Loved that!
I'm also from Georgia (Marietta) I've been wondering, what got you into Korea (literally and figuratively). How hard do you think it would be for one of us to get a job at a tech company? (IT/Cyber security). Also I really think you're a great personality and you always make the videos even brighter, I'm incredibly happy to have a fellow Georgian like you representing us in Korea!
I'm from Europe and for real, not having facial hair and chest hair is a thing I find really attractive about Korean guys :D I guess we all want what we don't have nearby
How to pull a Korean chick as a foreigner: 1. Buy a big dog 2. Go jogging with dog 3. Talk to dog often whilst running to ensure everyone you speak English 👍
So here's a funny experience of mine! I was in Seoul 2 years ago and was in a shopping mall. Me, being the British guy I am, held the door open for the person behind and let them go through first...They said nothing, and then more people came and I continued to hold the door for literally a minute! No one said thanks or made eye contact with me 🤣🤣🤣 I swear they thought I was a doorman!
When I was younger (like 5) I used to hold doors open for people that worked in the bank where my mom worked. When they didn't say thank you, I used to say "you're welcome" with a tone.
Florida native(not the crazy part of florida) southern hospitality is real. It's weird to me that people don't open doors for others, or offer to hold bags.
Regarding number 5: Most women I've met in Korea (including my wife) are at least a bit afraid of dogs, especially big dogs. Like, my wife thinks it's cute when I'll pet a dog but she'll watch and not come over near it... And on holding the door, one time I walked out a convenience store and these girls walking through so I held it for them as they went in. Immediately, they went giggling. When I told my coteacher, she said that here people usually only do that for dignitaries and such. It was just good manners in the States...
I'm from the south and I treat my fiance like my mom is watching 😂😂 also the grammar goes both ways. My woman speaks broken english and texts super broken English. Super cute it makes my heart melt.
It may be wrong but I LOVE my wifes broken Konglish , I always thought it's so cute. 12 years later IM using it in our house...soya milk stays cold in the "fridjee"
I'm a European woman and I open door for people. It's just polite to be nice to people, especially old people, pregnant women or anyone who seems like they need help.
Mike, I have become your official fan hahahah And Jina I felt the same when I went to Europe haaha "I'm a princess .. I want to marry an European guy" lol
You’ll have to do another video about the five things that Korean people dislike about foreigners: earwax, telling how it is, etc. Great video by the way.
Curious you said earwax, because even where I live, there wasn't any type of scenario when someone would complain about it, whether it was about me or someone else.
I like when guys are polite just unconsciously. Just having good manners to anyone is really attractive to me. In America, stranges hold open doora out of habit of just being polite and i really like that we do that here. Always thank you and your welcomes as well. My friend is from england and when he moved here he was sorta annoyed at how polite everyone is where I'm from lol im from Arizona. He had to get used to random small talk with strangers and lots of smiling and greetings lol it was funny
With the exception of soth europeans that do love small talks as they are the more expressive and pasionate ones from the continent the rest of us europeans are not that much into small talk with random people. For north, central and soth americans seems like talking to others randomly and small talk is a pace of cake. You are so much into small talk in general that sometimes I wander haw can you manage to do that and not to feel bored to death. And plus you smile so much! 😂😀😁
That door holding fact shocked me! That’s such a natural part of American courtesy I can’t imagine being seen as super polite and attractive just for doing that. Cultural differences are really so interesting
I loved this video so much! Your reactions to each reason were priceless! #5: I love big dogs. All breeds of large dogs, you are my children xD They're the best wingman so best believe you'll see women being drawn to the guy with the happy dog. For me it shows he's safe to be around and he's compassionate. #4. Body hair is not my preference but if my guy has it, I'm not going to harp on him to shave. I'm not really a fan of facial hair either but again, if he has it all I can ask is for him to keep it groomed/clean/presentable. #3. I have not had the chance to eat a lot of Korean food but the few times I tried it, I loved every dish. If someone from another culture ate my culture's food and loved it, I'd be very pleased and appreciate them more because they're open to my culture. It's a very good thing so I'm glad we have this in common, Jina :D #2. I'm not gonna lie, I agree here--if the person is not a native speaker and they're putting forth the effort to communicate in your language (and even if it's pretty bad) I appreciate it because they value you and want to bond. #1. I love it when guys are kind. I love it when everyone's kind. Opening doors, pulling chairs, all that stuff is highly appreciated. Also, at 13:02 I think it's just a group of girls that don't appreciate being helped, like the "I'm a strong woman who don't need no man" becomes erratic because in reality, you can't DO EVERYTHING by yourself. You NEED help at some point. It's fine to be independent like yes it's great you can take care of yourself, but you don't have to proclaim to the world every time you open your mouth that you're strong. It shows insecurity. Strong people don't need to say it, they just ARE. It never stopped them from accepting help when they could benefit as well.
지나 사랑해!!!.... hope this says what I'm trynna say, how I know 한글 is a whole other story keep making videos. p.s..love your accent, and I have all 5 these except I'm white and Canadian 😅
I'm actually an American going to Korea for studies in a year, and I was wondering if it was rude or not to open doors for others in Korea and I would do it by mistake as it's such a normal thing here, glad to hear it's appreciated! Are there any other things you think a foreigner might do by accident that could be offensive or rude in Korea without them realizing it?
Interesting video. Western women I know still expect a guy to open doors (car, restaurant, etc) for them. It’s a way to show the woman that you respect her and care for her. When you treat her like a queen, she will treat you like a king. However, I did date a guy from Nigeria and he hated opening the car door for me. Now I know it wasn’t apart of his culture, but we argued about that a few times.
@@itsjinakim unnie check Indian actor Anil Kapoor...he is full of hairs at the back chest and literally the whole body..he is the hairiest actor from here hahaha!! My boyfriend is from Korea♥ and I really appreciate and love Korean food, language and culture ♥ love you too♥♥♥♥
i was hanging out w/ this k girl this 1 time and we were walking down the street, she told me i was a gentleman for walking on the street side of the sidewalk, keeping her away from the traffic. she liiiiked that for suuuure lol
I was raised and equated to be a gentleman, but that doesn't mean I consider all women as princess. I like independent smart women, that doesn't mean girls have to ignore men. I like to help people when I can, so I find it disrespectful when someone struggling refuse my help because of my gender.
Note to self: Never watch Jina's videos while brushing teeth again. The random images in the beginning (1:54!! 😂) had me choking on my toothbrush... That was hysterical! About your last point: I'm a European woman and I really like it when guys act gentlemanly, I'll gladly accept that courtesy and thank them. However!! I'll do the same for other people too - say, your example of holding open doors for others - and it bugs me when in THAT situation men (strangers, not ones I'm dating) are like "no thanks you go first". Hello, dork, I just went through the trouble of offering you an open door and stopped for up to 5 seconds of my life, don't act weird now just because I'm a woman! You're not being polite by rejecting my act of common decency, you're just making me waste my time. I wouldn't have *stopped* and held it open for you if I'd known you're just gonna shake your head and make me go through ahead of you anyway. You know what I mean? 🤔
I have to say those things that Mike and Jina are talking about around the 11:00 mark, I do all the time here in the UK. The thing is instead of it being Chivalry I've actually been told that Iwas sexist and that it is embarrassing when I opened the door for a girl who I was going on a date with. Seems as though Chivalry is a dying breed nowadays!
The grammar thing is so cute. I had a german boyfriend and he wouldnt know how to say some words so he'd have to describe what the thing does for me to understand and it was just so cute!!!
this is so interesting to watch!!! here in south africa it just depends on the person you are,for me personally i always let adults go first if its a doorway, sometimes men will offer first and itll be the ''no you go its okay'' situation for 2 seconds lol,for the most part i think ppl usually do those polite things as you'd give off a bad impression if you dont
안녕하세요 진구 🤗🙂! 5) I still want to adopt a Great Pyrenees as a puppy; usually prefer bigger dogs. Since a Tibetan Mastiff is a bit on the pricier side 😅; still would love to adopt one. I previously had a puppy who was a Schipperke/Corgi/Westie Mix. 4) I don't have much chest hair but have hair in other areas. My back isn't that hairy though 😅😂. There are people who are hairy all over. 3) I love Korean food but I don't eat pork though. I love Ramyun, Jjajang and etc. I also have a very high tolerance for spicy food (Spice is life 😄); bring it on 😋 (is still looking for a spicy Kimchi)! 2) I'm getting better at speaking Korean and can read it...however translation wise... I'm terrible 😭 but that means more practice on my part 😁😅; I'm not going to give up. 1) I ace this one 100% 😄! I'm from the Northeast and was always taught to be polite, respectful, kind and if someone needs a hand, help them out; like if there was a lady (or guy) who's loaded with bags and needed to get through the door, I'll help her (or him) out. I'm quite chivalrous (though I hear from many women including friends, that it's rare). Although I also take care of myself but naturally like to take care of others. I'm ethnically mixed; come from a very mixed family. With what is still a mystery since the "Are you adopted 🤔😮?" question comes up all the time. I don't have an American accent at all...which is weird. I speak certain languages including English, accent. Korean? No accent. I just wish I was a bit more confident in speaking it more. Sorry if this is too long Jina 😅!
In Philippines normal here being gentlemen and respects for a girl , Filipino guys can do housework and helping a woman in household even he has a Job if a wife is unemployed the Filipino guys support his family and give them his salary to his wife ,,if Filipino Married both has a job they both support each other but mostly a guy supports their family the salary of woman the husband don’t force her to to finance their family they don’t care her salary what her wife to do that her money sometime a Filipina girls are spoiling her children to buy anything to her children they don’t matter what’s she will not have as long she give her children what they want
I watched this after the part two of renting the korean boyfriend video and I have to say that I find his effort in speaking english adorable. So I agree that "bad grammer" can be attractive from a non-native person.
Let's see, I have a beard from time to time, hairy chest, I have an Irish Wolfhound, I LOVE Korean food, I was brought by my parents to be an old school Gentleman and I'm learning Korean.
Good show. :D It is just good manners to hold the door for whoever is coming in behind you. It doesn't matter if they are male, female , young or old. Letting the door smack them in the face is just rude. (and painful to them) Oh ! and my opinion of hairy guys is ..."PUT YOUR SHIRT ON! I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THAT! lol
I'm now in Korea and always I open the door first and I feel I'm weird here If I do that. I had to shave my face becuase when I was walking in the street I felt many eyes watching me ... sometimes I feel here I'm like a strange bug Haha
Jina Kim you have a error in description. Both videos say "TOP5 Things You Should Know When Dating Korean Guys" but one of them should be "TOP5 Things You Should Know When Dating Korean Girls"
Ranking myself according to this ranking: 1)HAHAHAHA!!! I speak English very well, as a native speaker and literary dude. I need to get jogging-and as far as the dog is concerned, I have my neighbor’s black lab, so a medium-sized dog. I semi-pass! 2) oh, no!! I don’t have much chest hair! But my dad does. I fail this one. But there is hair on my tush. And I do have a pretty good beard 🤣 3) I love Korean food! I pass! 4) I can say some stuff in Korean! Like cog jung hajima (I can’t write it in Hangul though, do I get a point at least for knowing that phrase?) 5) My heart is super caring and generous, kind and compassionate! So I big time pass that one. And I am mostly ethnically British. But nationally American. But I also speak Tagalog. And I am also a RU-vidr. Alright! So, what do ya say? Do I pass?
5. I'm a cat lover, how does that go down with girls? 😅 4. I'm half Pakistani so...Chest hair you say? No problem at all! 🤣 3. Korean food is massively different to what I usually eat BUT I fully try my best to try new things 😄 2. I always text my Korean friend with random Korean phrases 😂 Like...Bbeong chijima...and...pabol 🤣 Good enough? 1. Oh I have a HUGE....heart 😂😅 Nah I can't say that, makes me sound big headed. I let others decide for themselves 😁 Okay, so when we going out Jina?...
Actually would be holding doors open for people letting go through first, pull a chair out for a girl, pick a date up from their place and bring them back, and just treat people well. I know Korean culture can be different and I respect the difference, but I think I'll will always be respectful to people and do my best to be a gentleman to a girl. It'll interesting once I move over Japan and travel to South Korea to visit friends. Love your channel. Hello from Texas USA.
Thanks for really nice information^^ I am from the Philippines and i have a Korean girlfriend... one time i ask her what are the things she love bout me. She said "i am gentleman, sweet and romantic" At the young age filipino elders. They teach kids about respect woman and always be gentleman. Aha maybe we get that culture from Spanish and American. #justshared lol
I did... not know that korean girls like foreign guys with chest hair.. I really have to grow it instead of shaving it. And the girls who don't want help who want be strong is true and the other part and i know that part to hold the door because the girls know its pure respect and huge heart? wow haha
in Chile, men open doors for women, acommodate chairs for women, hold doors for women, let women go in or out of elevators first, etc. but femenists get mad at it. meeeeh
Jina I love the way you speak cuz I feel like u re so outgoing. But I have a question for you: 'Why do Korean people idolize American people?" And when they hear the word America or have someone from Us, Koreans get ready to do everything. Isn't it racism towards other nations?
You go Mike! I love every time you give your two cents about feminism. You manage to be nice, easy going, and understanding. Even your delivery is good, showing how you see things without sounding like a lecturer who thinks he knows best. Seriously. I feel like I should say thank you 😊😊😊😊👍
