Chaz. They didn't make the video in Venice. Some parts of it were made in London and other parts of it were made in Vienna. They made parts of it in London due to budgetary restraints.
Oh I remember this. This show was great in terms of having great new acts performing (or showing videos) but the show hosts had no clue what they were doing. They asked the most stupid questions like "why don't you have any guitars" to Depeche Mode, or asked Rupert Hine if this was really music as he didn't have any live instruments on the set. Embarrassing.
Chaz, I don't wish to have an argument but your comments about the Midge Ure version of Ultravox are the kind that make it hard for those fans to want to get to know the John Foxx era
Okay - what is interesting is that Midge Ure made the same mistake. You are right the Swedish guy is making the mistake. Presumably Cann learned the difference when he made the video
I used to love Ultravox! during their John Foxx days. The switch to Midge Ure; and the Huge gaff in which the band made a film in Venice, about a song called Vienna, was so embarrassing that I could never bring myself to listen to them again. There has to be a basic credibility concerning the content of songs. It does not have to be incredibly profound, but stupidity is unforgivable.
