For the electrical folks out there. Would the output amps @5v on the powerbank matter? (The higher the output amps the better?) The Sony power bank in this video is over 3 amps, which is on the higher end. Thanks.
hello If you hold the button for a few seconds in stanbay mode, you can select the dac function (with fixed output) or pre output (with volume control)
Excellent review. Comes in line with my findings regarding the power bank. Do you want to go a bit further and try a better power supply cable and a better USB cable from GhentAudio and share your findings? Good quality for the price. Another option for USB cable would be Monolith from Monoprice. These have very good reviews as well. All the best and keep up the great work you're doing. Guys, the most important thing for DACs after a jitter is a good power supply. In such small case it’s impossible to have it (battery voltage must be converted into 3.3V, 5V, +-15V, so this is no matter that a battery is used). I only hope that i2s is galvanically isolated, and I/U converters are made properly noiseless (but I doubt). I expected here a little bit more hi-end (exactly what you personally would like to use), but so few people need this (
Even better results if you change the voltage output should be 3 settings 3 2 and 1 volts you want it on 1 volt output 3 volts for valve Gear. Should tell you in the manual hopefully but most are done by switching the unit off holding the power button and menu button together it should flash on different voltages should be 3 flashes for 3 volt one flas 1volt and using a coaxial cable at 30 ohms for analogue that would drop the output as well
I am curious that why a powerbank is considered to be a clean power source? The battery inside is 3.7 volt. And most most powerbanks use a step-up boost converter to output 5 volt. Isnt that same as using a noisy switching power supply?

I agree! I had the E30 connected to my vintage IA using a Sony dvd player as cd transport, worked well for me. Was your E30 power transformer too close to the unit? Or distance didn't matter as the noise was coming through the power connection? By the way, thanks for introducing me to Grace Mahya!
I've owned both the Mimby & the E30. I was very happy with the E30 over the built-in DAC. Here are some of my listening notes: Mimby bass is tighter and more controlled but there is slightly less overall output. Mimby keeps up with fast complex music much better. Mimby has less digital glare on bright treble spots. The best way I can describe it is on the bright strum of an acoustic guitar or a high note on an electric guitar solo, there is a bit of a whine or sheen to the note that impacts your ear in a slightly painful way. That sheen is not present on the MMB. There is also less sibilance, or no sibilance for that matter, versus the E30. The E30 is still a nice unit. This is better. I've since bought a BiFrost 2 and it is worth every penny over the Mimby. Much fuller & more present midrange.

Hello, I thoroughly enjoy your channel and appreciate you excellent sound demos. Just near professional recordings that I can trust the sound of when using Sennheiser 650s plugged into a Benchmark DAC (no other gear). I can even hear the soundstage listening this way...which I think is a testament to your recording. Anyway, I write not for this video but for your posting of gear you give us in these sound demo videos. I just wanted to give you a heads up that many times your Amazon links do not always point to the direct piece of gear you want to list for us. For example, you left a link for headphones in one video and it gave a page with many headphones of different manufactures. So, if you could you leave a description of all the information regarding the piece of gear. Make, model, name of precise piece, etc. I tried to visit Amazon for a headphone, sony player and another piece I forgot, only to get the manufacture page of many of their devices of this type of used gear. I don't know, I guess there is the possibility of the Google extensions i'm using that cause this, not sure. Thanks again for your great work!
it is better than E30 but you may or may not hear night and day different in sound (depending on system) but performance wise it is very good upgrade. Thanks
Sorry for the idiotic question. But if I have mackie mr524 monitor speakers, can I connect them to this DAC via an adapter? You don't need to buy anything else, an amplifier for example? I know that they have a built-in amplifier, but it was somehow incomprehensible on aliexpress that you need to buy an external amplifier in order for such a bundle to play. It seemed strange to me, I don’t know who to ask now if it’s true or not. Thank!

I’m still on the fence between the Wharfedale 4.2 & the Quad s2 behind you & have watched you over the yrs, trusting your judgment aka (ears)👍...I have the kef ls50 hooked to my Yaqin mc-13s tube amplifier thru topping D90 DAC at this time & have another 25+ pairs of Bookshelf & Floor standing speakers i’ve acquired over 50yrs. that I circulate as I try different Pre/Amps, DAC’s, Wire, CD Players, etc. plus 30 or so given to my kids & friends over the years too..Since it looks like you’re still keeping both & I’ve heard your comments on both,, which is the keeper or as you said before, should I get both & use each when the music calls for it? Thank you, I would keep using LS50 and add a nice sealed sub from REL personally because it's hard to get significantly better mini monitor than LS50, may be Amp upgrade in the future, Happy Holidays!
I heard the quad s4 v1 which were the limited release ( only because they added an extra bass unit and I think bass radiator) but the s4 was phenomenal for its price (1800 Australian dollars on sale). I bought the Magnepan LRS because I've been wanting some for a while but seriously I could be very happy with the S4. I haven't heard the Wharfedale.
