This is one of her best songs…. You have to listen to the studio version from the album of the same name!

I've seen her live multiple times, but the first time was in this beautiful old theater where it was just her and her piano and I swear you could hear a pin drop. In fact, if you had to walk out to use the bathroom, they wouldn't allow you to reenter the theater until the song was over. It was the most amazing concert! ❤

I feel like her calling people out that way comes from constantly being ignored and underestimated. She felt like she had to fight to be heard. She had something to say and you were GOING to listen because it is important. That's why she is such an influencial and important artist.

Yay another Tori reaction! Love this song one of my favorites. Many different versions of this song performed over the years, as you could imagine, but always love the stripped down version from this era.

Thank you so much for another Tori reaction. As soon as I opened RU-vid and yelled YAY my husband called it immediately lol. This is a great Tori song, but not her best performance of it by a long shot. I think she overdid the dynamics too much and it was throwing me out of the song. (And this is a song I have heard hundreds of times.) It's also also a shame that she left out the second verse, which has the best lines in it, imho. All that said, it's a beautiful performance. Tori from 1991-2002 could pretty much do no wrong. Also, aside from her incredible album tracks from that decade, some of the B sides that didn't get added to the records are up there with her very best. Sister Janet, Cooling, Honey come to mind right up front. Also, Siren from the Great Expectations soundtrack and Butterfly from the Higher Learning soundtrack are outstanding. The rabbit hole goes so deep that it's going to take you years to get down it (at least if you keep waiting to react haha!) It's exciting seeing someone geeking out over Tori the way I did when I first discovered her. I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Keep up the amazing work. You clearly put a lot of thought, time, and energy into these reactions and it shows! ❤

Fun fact, the often does that to ppl who show that disrespect. She's also kicked people out from her shows who sit in the first row and are unruly. The first row in her shows are always reserved to be given out to fans by tori and her crew. I got lucky and got to seat in the first row in NYC'17 tour through a friend getting upgraded. It was amazing experience. And no, she didn't yell at me, just stared at me during Northern Lad hah

the first Tori concert I've been to, in 2007, there were two guys standing in an aisle between the seats, talking audibly, so she interrupted the song, threw her shoe at them (!!!) and proceeded to play a little improvisation about them :D she can be savage!

She is so awesome, I remember being a kid and being so excited that she sung and played the piano (2 of my 3 passions as a kid… 3 was theater.) Another artist that I feel in love with Is Poe I suggest checking her out, her most famous song from her first album was “Angry Johnny” but my favorite was “Beautifully Girl” stunning and her second album has one of the most unique songs that actually has her brother narrating the story line. Wow please check her out but I’m not sure if they come with videos, still worth it.

"Little Earthquakes" is where Tori's musical career begins for most. It did come off the back of the total commercial failure of 1988s "Y Kant Tori Read", a big hair pop-synth band that she was heading at the time. Too much record label interference meant she would later comment "The only good thing about that album is my ankle high boots." However, she was still under a 6 album contract deal with Atlantic and pressured to release something by 1990. They rejected the initial presentation, but eventually green lighted "Little Earthquakes" for release in early 1992. A case of sticking to your guns paying off big time.
