I remember when this album was in production, and someone came on the Usenet Tori Amos obsessive fans groups: he was selling the ENTIRE back catalogue, from demos to b-sides, to unreleased stuff...... After this appearance on Jools Holland, the news broke Tori and her producer Eric Rosse had split. Tori later confessed she'd been in a love quadrangle (but not naming names, although we all know now it was Trent Reznor). The guy selling the back catalogue was Eric. His message to us, whilst formal in sales terms, was full of heartbreak. I'm actually welling up as this album, and his message showed how in love they were at that point, and the pain caused, and how much she loved Trent (the two versions of "Hey Jupiter" evidently being about/to each of them).... So much pain there, you can feel it. I'm really glad she married her sound engineer, he seems brilliant for her, and their daughter is a beautiful young woman herself now. (Assuming the couple are still together.) The video for "a sorta fairy tale" really showed how much love and care was there.
Omg … this intro, this song, and everything about it has my heart in the palm of its hands. Memories of a love that once was, but could never truly be. I miss you SMS.
