As a detailer that has applied Can Coat Evo to my wifes car, I did all the correct prep work required for any long term coating, applied by spraying into a towel as per Gyeon's instructions, coating believe it or not is at 21 months and still beading and glossy AF. Ive been adding pics and videos to an Aussie car detailing group on FB every few months. I havent sprayed all kinds of chemicals on it, its never been through a car wash, only washed by me. Ive never given it a full decon wash. This stuff is legit. Car is a daily driver that sits outside 8 to 10 hours a day and garaged overnight. Just my two cents on it. Cant get more real world than that

The other car gets parked under a car port with a single layer of CC and it's still going strong after 18 months. 2 coats of Gyeon Pure EVO on my truck looking like day 1 after a year.

Your testing conclusion is that Cancoat lacks durability. I challenge your testing methodology to determine durability over time then. You can easily find professional detailers who will offer it as an option above a sealant but below a ceramic coating. Those detailers generally educate their customers that the durability expectation is one year. For me your testing is of help as direction on how to best remove old previous coatings but it does not help in determining durability over time.

hey Jimbo, quick question, do you know if something like Bilt Hamber Touch-Less would degrade Jimbo's Hard as Shell coating at all? I like to do rinseless washings but sometimes do a touch-less foam and rinse before the rinseless contact wash

Bilt-Hamber Touchless V2 is pH 10.5 and when diluted to 1% PIR is pH 8.5.
@victor4091
@victor4091 7 дней назад
@@TheBreakfastLover wonder what's better Bilt Hammer V2 diluted to 1% PIR or Jimbos Super Soaper (also 8.5 pH). I tried super soaper yesterday and it's ok but of course not reallt touchless, it does remove a bit more than just using the pressure washer alone (or PW with pH neutral soap), but it's closer to how much pH neutral soap remove than how much an APC like Optimum Power Clean (3:1 ratio) removes, of course Power Clean will degrade coating heavily
@TheBreakfastLover
@TheBreakfastLover 7 дней назад
@@victor4091 can't say as I never used Jimbo's. But Bilt-Hamber Touchless is a dedicated touchless foam that's been well reviewed (e.g. Forensic Detailing's channel). I've tested several mild pH foams (pH 5.5 to 8.5 when diluted), and my go-to touchless wash is Bilt-Hamber Touchless v2 at 1% PIR (pH 8.5) to remove organics and traffic film, followed by Fireball pH3 at 1:500 dilution (pH 5.5) to remove mineral deposits. Then I rinse with deionized water and blow dry. I pretreat bug guts or bird bombs with P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner. Yes it's an interior cleaner but it's actually an excellent pH-neutral mild APC for the exterior.

I love your videos man. Hier is a question or 2. Can you apply 2 different ceramic coatings over another? Example Cerakote (the bad one) over gyon Mohs. I know u shouldnt but what happens when u do it? Also if you could mix it if the flashing is different. Sweating+ Rainbow. Or Sweating+ swearing. Or rainbow+ rainbow. Second question : you know the turtlewax scratch remover kit the one with the clear coat? Can i cover the whole car with the clear coat and apply over that a ceramic coating? (The thought behind would be the clear coat would act like a Lens and make the paint pop more). Also if the clear coat would get removed from the solvent from the ceramic coating. Till now asmuch as i know noone tried it atleast not on tape.

@autodetailingpodcast
@autodetailingpodcast 4 месяца назад
Are you referring to Jamie’s vid? If so, for one, it’s one video (not multiple like you suggest) and Jamie will even admit it didn’t fail. Depending on how he was shooting the water it would sheet slower or faster than the others, at worst it was on par with all except his mystery product, which he admittedly couldn’t get it to NOT streak. Also, mine is rated at 6 months - he washed it 20 times with a ph+ soap. So depending on how often you wash your car that would give you 5-10 months or protection with a single layer. Which are exactly my claims…

I compare can coat to only Glassparency Graphene spray or Adams Advanced Graphene ceramic spray. i have them on many client vehicles and all surpass the 1 yr and still bead and sheet water get well with a minimum of a wash every 3 weeks to 1 month. no high alkaline products on it which will obviously deteriorate any coating over time. yeah noone os spraying brakebuster and megs acid wheel cleaner on their paint ever. of course it'll fail. doing that will turn your 8 yr coating into a 1 yr coating real fast... so don't. repeated apc prewashes or waterspot remover as a mild acid are about as harsh as anyone goes. don't use anything except ph neutral chemicals unless absolutely necessary to keep your coating working great video can you do one torture test on Adams advanced graphene ceramic spray?. its solvent spray but i think its the closest thing to a real coating that's in spray form. haven't seen a torture test on it
