Sarajevo, YUGOSLAVIA - 1984 Winter Games, Figure Skating, Exhibition Performances - Encore performance by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean of Great Britain: "I Won't Send Roses" from the Broadway musical, "Mack and Mabel."
I was there! I saw the exhibition and closing ceremony at Sarajevo and it was totally wonderful - I really remember this - it was very moving. Thanks for uploading :)
Oh thank you SO much for uploadin this. I LOVE this routine so much. It's Howard Keel singing so sadly, and they get it so right (yet again) and it was their coach's favorite routine of their's. AMAZING to think Chris and Jayne choreographed ALL their own routines and also others for many teams later on.
I understand the constraints of having to produce new dances for themselves and so many others on DOI, every week and frankly, I think Jayne and Chris do a brilliant job. But I would love to see them have more time to develop their choreography for each other and practise their dance at a higher level than what DOI allows now. They are both still so physically fit and you sense the potential for them dance at a higher level than what DOI timing allows for them. Hope that would happen one day.
I love this routine, I can never chose between this and Encounter which is my favourite. It does appear to be their relationship in a dance - or at least part of it @brightelf - and it's very sad...

@brightelf - I forgot about 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' - also heartbreaking - I would have loved to see that ballet... It makes me sad to think that all these tragic routines are about their life -do you think that 'Stormy Weather' was about Jayne or Isabelle? What about the new routines? I know they're all glitzy for the cameras but Your Song/Let It Go/Fields of Gold were pretty emotional?
