Really interesting insights that also explain why some partnerships/marriages work (T+D, Fred and Ginger) and others just cant go the distance (Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, Brangelina). T and D each bring their own qualities to the relationship, and there is hidden strength in knowing what battles to pick.

They are indeed. I can't help but keep thinking of the probability of them meeting and pairing up to becoming this amazing dance team. I mean, the fact that they were born around the same time, that they were both in Nottingham, that they got together to skate, that they fitted so well, and that their temperaments match so perfectly - Chris fiery and creative, and Jayne patient and obedient!...

...and it also goes to show the depth of their friendship & love for one another, too. That they'd put up with each other for so many years (and decades!!) is an amazing testimony of their wonderful relationship :)

I totally agree too. Both have always acknowledged that Chris is the driving force and Jayne the stabilising one. That's why it's a relationship which has lasted 35 years and still going strong. Also, Jayne herself is very competitive or she would not have stuck with Chris all these years. There's a video somewhere of this TV presenter who beats Jayne in a video game and crows about it and Jayne says: But it's only with your hands, no legs involved. LOL! Yep, Jaynie is competitive.

It just shows the depth of their charisma, talent, and personalities, doesn't it, that we all still love him despite his aggression! He's a lovely man :D

I'm guessing that Jayne found a much kinder man (Phil) to marry. But that doesn't mean that her love for Chris isn't deep, dear and powerful. Just not the day to day, homeowning, parenting, etc. kind. Lucky girl to have two wonderful men in her life, loving her, and helping her achieve her different goals.

They are the perfect pair, and for this to happen I would've thought the probability was about 1 in a billion, at the least! It blows my mind...

haha I TOTALLY agree! Glad someone else thinks so lol! He is SOOO attractive, and I find him even more so when he's stressed out! I love his 'angry' voice, and his sarcastic digs at Jayne, asking if her 'legs are heavy' and stuff. He's so hot!

Well all credit to Jane. I wish I had her temperament. Not to make excuses for Chris but the number of times he had to lift Jane wouldn’t have been easy for him. A partnership based on respect for one another.

Not gonna lie if he spoke to me like that I would slam back but he drove her to success and I think she knew that’s why she loved him but not to take it to a relationship because it would not work because he would take the work home

they were under a LOT of stress; reading their book, "Facing The Music", is a great insight, and you can understand it from both points of view (why Chris was so stressed, and why Jayne, who has always been such an emotional rock, couldn't help but break down and cry).

I Agree, It must be so hard and demanding on them! Some of the things said were a bit harsh though...mainly by Chris (I'm just feeling sorry for Jayne cos she started crying...thats like something i'd do!)! I'll say one thing for Chris, he's passionate and harsh but he gets results!!! Its all worth it in the end! The're such good friends that things like that dont affect them at all! I love it!

aw lol, I pity Chris as well, for being portrayed like this. The documentary team only captured a couple of hours of just one day from their entire career; according to Chris & Jayne, this was a bit of an 'odd' time, and Chris wasn't usually that bad. He's usually passionate and dominant, but not that nasty lol! I think as Jayne says, there needs to be someone with that driving force in the pair, to keep them chasing perfection. Bless Chris... :)

No probs hehe, we were all new T&D fans at one point :) *welcome!* They are training for their Face The Music routine, which they had to make some last minute changes to, for the '94 Olympics. Most of the clips come from a documentary called "Facing The Music" from 1994, except for the clip at 3:27, which is an excerpt from a documentary about the making of their show, "Ice Adventures". yeh definitely; it takes the glamour away from it (which is a good thing lol, 'cos ppl sometimes get into ice-skating with false beliefs of what it's really like!), and shows the reality to it all. I find stuff like this deepens my appreciation for their performances. When I go and watch the Olympic "Face The Music" now, it looks 100x more amazing than it did before (and that's a lot!!) Just makes you appreciate all that goes into it. They're an amazing pair.

I Love Jayne more out of the two because she is so caring and kind and seems like the kind of person that you could just have a chat with. I usually like Chris too but in this video I really feel like punching him until he appolagises to Jayne. Jayne doesnt deserve anything like that. I can't believe he made her cry and then just skated off. He said you didnt see the times she made me cry. What a liar I bet she never did and even if she did it would have only been like once of twice.

I assume they were wearing body mics because they were making the documentary. I'm surprised that they didn't take them off if they were going to fuss. They've talked about how their coach told them not to let people see them disagreeing publicly. Anyway......doesn't matter. I ADORE this couple. Their performances are magical to me.

3:57 chris is well harsh to jayne

he says some really mean things to her like your like a dead weight, but I can see how they vounce of each other they are like the perfect couple. Anyone notice when she started crying she look liked she wanted to hug him and he just said no don't start the tears on me and skated away,lol. He is mean but I find it kind of attractive although if I was Jayne I would give him a punch,lol.

They were under external pressure at this time. That pressure might have meant they would have to reinvent themselves as skaters. They are artists. You don't tell Van Gogh that he can't use yellow paint anymore. And anyway, I don't see this friction as indicative of a fracture but of deep trust. Casual acquaintances would have stormed off and slammed the door.

THey had just come bakc from flying, kind of. Bit jet lagged I reckon. Thats only way Chris can blame something else, in my eyes anyway
