Big tip: the quality of your microphones, preamps, plugins, etc. is not nearly as important as how well your studio/recording space is set up to handle resonant frequencies and other problems that result from an untreated room

Just wanna note that the tubetech cl-1b plugin requires an apollo interface/satellite to run. The Neve 1073 you can get away with if you get the UADx version

That’s probably a U67 looking at the shock mount, it’s hard to tell but the U87 has a shorter smaller shock mount that doesn’t cradle the upper part of the mic body, but I’m not going to say for sure that a U87 can’t fit in a U67 shock mount because that could easily be the case. For an affordable and surprisingly accurate reproduction of the U87 sound, the Rode NTK is a tube mic that sounds very similar to the U87. I’ve tested them side by side and put the vocal recordings together and asked dozens of people to say which one sounded better and everyone says they sound the same.

Some people may be hating in here, but this is pretty solid way to achieve a very similar sound.

Smart guy but from experience…theres nothing like actually using that gear. Emulators are good though but you def can tell a difference & theres way more than just using that & poof…u sound good. Just saying.
