I have always liked Kemi. She has common sense, integrity and honesty which is in short supply in the political realm.

Common sense?? She's campaigning to become PM on a culture warrior ticket while people in the real world are struggling to heat their home and put food on the table. Her views on welfare are reprehensible and based on dogged ideology rather than reality. She is not fit for high office.

@@assses-3216 No, when an island nation that has the highest density of population in Europe, double that of the next most populated Germany, which itself is double that of the next and the rest even less populated - when it is forced to build a city the size of Sheffield every 5 years it can not keep up - not with infrastructure, schools, hospitals, services, housing ! Immigration since the Blair Brown governments opened the door to multiculturalism has been crazy, since that time the UK has experienced more immigration than in the previous 1000 years !

No she didn't, there are legitimate problems with the bill and she just cried about not being able to go after trans people, because that's the hot culture war topic right now and she's just a conservative culture war advocate, the worst kind their is, because they care more about distracting the discourse with culture issues instead of making real policy and focusing on real problems. @@Locke350 - I wouldn't support any of 'em, but least of all her and Truss. Badenoch was the only one of the five who wouldn't sign up to the pledge to honour the leveling up policy. She'd cut taxes at a time when it would risk inflation going much higher and making it probable that the BofE would substantially increase interest rates. She desires a small state, sink or swim society with drastic cuts to public services and the NHS. She's a divisive culture warrior first and foremost and not fit for high office. She's the last thing this country needs.

Kemi is VERY impressive indeed. Shame we never normally have a chance to hear from high-quality, sensible, balanced, principled politicians like this nowadays. They all seem to be hidden away, for some reason. And as a fellow black woman, I agree with her 100 percent that there is no one way to be black, socially, culturally, educationally or politically. Very well done to her.

It's nice to see a politician not dancing around questions they're asked. I'm very suspicious of politicians but she definitely has a more honest and direct vibe about her. When will political parties realise the people, on both sides, want a leader who actually talks like a regular person, and doesn't beat around the bush, say the popular phrases and buzz words, and someone who is actually relatable. I wish her the best of luck.

@@oddhominem The raising of the wages of the working classes as their wages are not being undermined by mass immigration from poorer Eastern European countries undercutting their wages for jobs. Having control over our own soveriegnty. Having border control. Lesser immigration equaling smaller class room sizes, lesser immigration equaling less pressure on the NHS, lesser immigration meaning less pressure on housing. Faster rollout of vaccines during Covid, as we could buy them for ourselves and not as an EU block. Being able to make quicker and more precise reactions to anything that threatens the UK economy, such as pandemics

It has failed many times as history will tell. Remember Mrs Thatcher was an outsider with vision and led the party successfully until she went past her sell by date, failed to listen to her cabinet and importantly….the people. I’m delusional, I would prefer the final two be Badenoch and Mordaunt, now that would be real contest and if they go head to head in a debate on the magic box it would be comparable to the Cooper and Tyson scuffle. I’m hesitant but Kemi Badenoch could become a decision making PM but must learn by listening to advisors with sincerity…..not Mr Gove otherwise she must wear body armour at all times.

I think Rwanda is a bad deal. It will cost us to send the Illegal immigrants there, and we have to take a percentage of Rwanda's sick. I am 74, paid my taxes all my life, and cannot get a doctors appoinment. Forget the ECHR and send them back to safe France. I support legal immigration, but not these, coming from France. Kemi is absolutely the sharpest tool in the box. I was unsure about her initially on paper, but she speaks with such conviction and with substance. I do believe that some might find her intimidating as a leader/boss and that could go against her; I certainly wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her. But she is exactly the sort of PM or strongly influential cabinet minister we need. It's a shame that many just don't know it yet.

Iirc, as of now she's only 42, so hs plenty of time. You're correct on her obvious very high intlelligence and preference for addressing questions honestly and directly. Two of several attributes and perspectives I think she shares with Penny Mordaunt, who with her somewhat greater ministierial experience is the candidate I'd support to win this election. In which case, it is to be hoped that Badenoch receives a senior portfolio herself and is eventually able to become Mordaunt's successor.

I'm someone that considers myself a floating voter, although, full disclaimer, I've only ever voted for Labour or the Lib Dems, maybe the Green party once if I recall correctly. I consider myself to be a centrist/slightly left leaning, although the media would probably consider me further to the left than I believe myself to be. Kemi Badenoch seems like a decent enough person, her and Tugendhat were the only 2 candidates that I could've been happy with even if I probably would disagree with their political leanings, on the basis that they just seem like normal human beings, which is a rarity in the conservative party. I believe Badenoch would cause Labour all sorts of problems and after a disasterous few years for the tories I think she's what the party needs, even if she is a bit unexperienced.

Tugendhat would probably be my preference over Badenoch, but Badenoch would be my preference over the other clowns. She was out of her depth, and I'm extremely surprised that someone "very much to the left" could be impressed by someone as far to the Tory right as Badenoch. She basically wants to create a sink or swim society, with a small state and tax cuts for the wealthy. When she talks about 'cutting red tape' we should all know by now that this is a euphemism for chipping away at worker's rights such as sick pay, holiday pay, maternity leave etc. She shouldn't be allowed anywhere near high office.

She is far and away a far more accomplished woman then Candace Owens, I liked CO when she was a new firebrand but now she is happy to veer off from any principle and just repeats talking points she’s inherited by people she works for or influence her. Same with C Kirk, they’ve found a brand that works and don’t care if they have to veer from their principles to keep their audience happy. Typical US, it’s impossible to know what your average American really thinks because they default to binary positions and usually don’t have the objective reasons that lead them to their opinions, This is illustrated by Peter Boghossan, he asks people what their belief is and works backwards in a reverse q and a. Look at her tweet on June 30th on gender-id. She won't axe the TV Licence. She won't leave the European Courts and Laws. She's exactly the same as the rest, but words everything differently.

A very effective performer with an excellent grasp of detail in all the roles she was given before she was leadership candidate. She has grown in stature, seems genuine & has integrity. The thing that people say most about her is that she’s a real breath of fresh air in politics. The modern face of the Tory party. Very impressive indeed.

I’m a floating voter, usually erring on the side of Labour. But I do like Kemi, even if I don’t agree with everything she says. Her attitude seems a lot fresher.

Got to be honest here, I'd never heard of Kemi Badenoch, but hearing her speak about various policies, she seems to have a lot of common sense, which is pretty rare in a politician.
