As good as Taylor is, he had a very good encompassing special teams unit.

2nd punter drafted in 2 seasons. Gill was taken 7th round 2022. Passed on Brock Purdy. Only the NFC champion QB, no biggie. Who'd they pass on this time? Total failure.

The experts do not like thinking that does not agree with them. You cannot use a 4th round pick in punter they say. You cannot draft QB Penix with the 8th overall pick if you just signed the 36 year old Kirk Cousins who is oft injured and trying to come back from a turn Achilles. To me both picks make sense. With Penix it's called planning for the future and for contingencies. With Taylor I ask if the guy can kick as we see in the highlights, how is this not extremely valuable?

LOVE IT! I can't stand when fans complain about drafting special teams players high. Fields position flat out changes games. Fans complained about Hester being drafted too high back in the day and that worked out pretty well for us. I'll repeat: FIELD POSITION CHANGES GAMES!

I wonder why there are NOT more kickers/punters are selected in drafts? It seems like one of the most important positions because it dictates field positions. And having a place kicker would also directly translate to points and game winning turnarounds.
