Taking the first cuts with this absolute beast of a machine. Using a shell mill with a Getrag that was sacrificed for a T5 transmission conversion on a 1976 BMW 2002
hi thanks for the vid. what is the overall 1 to 10 rating you would give this machine 10=best is it a 40 or 50 in the spindle hp 7.5 ? add anything else you have noticed if you could because I an looking at one. Thanks
This specific machine needs the spindle seal replaced so it leaks a bit of oil. It had some poor wiring from previous owners and information is fairly non existent, or very hard to find at best. With that said it's unbelievably stout and strong. I believe 10hp on this one. 40 taper if memory serves me correctly. They are powerful and smooth and rigid machines and lovely to work on. If you find one in good working condition with only maintenance required I would buy it in a heart beat. For heavy machining it would be my go to. For more precise work I would prefer something like a deckel, but I always prefer a deckel ;). Machine 9/10 Information/support available 2/10
