In this case we received a hard drive out of a laptop that had been dropped. And by dropped, we mean accidentally left on the roof of a car, and then it slid down onto the pavement as they drove down the road.
After getting the hard drive repaired, we then used our deepspar imager (you can find more information at deepspar.com) and also our PC3000 system to fully recover the data from the drive.

people's logic, priceless data but no backup. you need at least 2 backup if it is priceless.

HELP PLEASE... My external hard drive when plugged to a laptop spins, and its recognised by the laptop. Immediately I attempt downloading, minutes after I start hearing a scratching sound and it gets disconnected. When I plug it back, it no longer recognised by the laptop. After 3 to 4 days, I attempt and the laptop sees it and when I try opening a video, same issue reoccurs and gets disconnected.

cool video, but not the ideal way to use DE. copy prior creating the image. Did you just pickup PC3000?

We've been using PC3K for over 10 years. In most cases the only additional step would have been creating a head map and cloning the MFT. In this particular case that was not the ideal way to handle this job.

acsdata yeah, but with same result you could have used R-studio.

Oh there are a few things we could have done, and yes using R-Studio in conjunction with DDI is certainly an option.

I wonder if there's a brand of hard drives that are the most reliable and robust or does that always change over time?

20:25 "Defects in G-List: 557" Isn't that quite a lot? That wouldn't be out of the ordinary for the plist, but seeing that in the glist is something I'm not used to. Also sort of funny seeing an ST3000DM001 as the destination.

It's not completely out of the norm. We've seen GLists much higher in some cases. Depending on the drive and the particular problem, clearing those will help but in this case that wasn't the issue. And yes, we use a variety of drives for imaging to, even the dreaded DM family drives. It's not a big deal since we pull the data off that clone once it's complete. Amazingly, out of 50 or so that we have here, we haven't had a single failure...yet.

Where do you get the parts drives from? Do you buy new ones or do you just get good used ones?

My hard disc Thoshiba, is not detecting in my computer BIOS, it has only Ubuntu os , is there any solution for recovery data, some one say it's cost 5000. Anybody can help please respond

PART NUMBER: HDTB105EK3AA This Toshiba Internal or USB 2/3 external has been discontinued because of poorly designed HDD. The heads fuse with platter if you slightly bump it.

Not a bad video, though I cannot in all good faith support your choice of using an ST31000528AS as the destination drive. I would not trust that drive as far as I could throw it. Which is exactly what should be done with it...

Yeah, we don't get too concerned about destination drives. We even use DM drives sometimes if that's what is readily available on the rack. Any drive can fail, and I'm not going to sit there and sweat every destination drive we use.
