I've had my toshiba a505 since 2009 and its still running like a champ. You have to take care of high performance laptops as in cleaning them out and making sure they don't over heat. Most people make the mistake of trying to game in bed, little do they know they are slowing suffocating their laptop.

Thank you for your excellent Video! Especially helpful is that the mechanic's fingers point to what he's going to disassemble. - When I was done taking the thing apart I found out why the monitor stayed dark: the electrictrick leads had left the building, errr, their respective connectors. But I'm not going to put the seven year old laptop back together...

i have 2 toshiba L305D-S5974 computers. one is stuck on the startup screen. none of the hold zero etc works. i swapped HDD and memory between units but no luck. memory and HDD from bad unit works fine in the good unit. known good HDD and memory into troubled unit made no difference both are windows 7. and sit on a cooling fan. am i screwed or what? barry

I enjoyed that video and I have a Satellite laptop and it is partially torn down, but can't get the cover off above the keyboard for some reason. I am trying to clean the fan assembly which is covered real well in a Toshiba computer, making it hard to clean it until the computer is torn down like the one on this video.

i need help: i was burning a cd using the realplayer program and the program crashed so i had to close it. i pressed the eject button to take the cd out but nothing happened. i went to the DVD RW DRIVE (D:) AUDIO CD, right clicked it pressed eject but all i get is an error message. how do i solve this? please help....i got the toshiba satellite laptop L55-A5299

This is why I prefer tower computers - they are much easier to open and repair while laptops are more expensive and actually perform slower (less bang for buck).

Trippin, I think you are being a little too critical. True, he probably should be using tools more suited to computer repair, but the video answered a lot of questions for me and definitely helped me to disassemble (and reassemble) my Toshiba Laptop.

When i start my laptop the light comes on and disc drive spins...windows doesnt load and screen is black...i hear a pop sound by where the cord plugs in(not post beep). This happens everytime i turn it on. Any ideas?

It should be easy, look at 3:15 when he takes away that screw (possibly manually, not with an electric screwdriver) and the player comes off. Then you'd have to replace it and put the screw back. I guess I'm late though

Honestly if you want your laptop cleaned or fixed take it to someone who does this for a living (not this person) all it takes is one wrong move to truly ruin your laptop. If you disassembled your laptop and it doesn't work that sucks to be you.

1: my L675 looks NOTHING like that on the inside. 2: You guys REALLY need to add narration to these videos. Seeing some guy with a power tool do some stuff he's done a hundred times does little to inform the novice layperson on how a pc works, what steps are needed to disassemble them, what needs to be where, and most importantly, what not to do. (yes, i would like to. i've been told i have a great speaking voice by several people that work in professional and community radio)

Bloody toshiba i had to totally disassemble it to clean fucking fan. It was a lot easier on other laptops. Design of toshiba is pitiful.

+MasterZeroOne You said it mate! I need to clean the fan and then i find out i have to become a PC repairman to do all this crap. Basically re-build the thing from pieces. Not impressed Toshiba, these things should be more user friendly. I saw a video today and the guy took off the back to get at the fan with just a few screws. Needless to say it wasn't a Toshiba.
