I like how Sun Jian is explicitly narrating this trailer to his sons, as though he was expecting to get bodied by boulders.

Sun Jian, one of the only guys of RotK who was more badass in history than he was in the book. Sun Jian was pretty much the only warlord who actually fought Dong Zhuo and he beat both Hua Xiong and Lu Bu - Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei weren't even there lmao.

Literally tears in my eyes. I personally come from the Sun Wu area, the basic foundation of my hometown is laid and developed by Sun Jian and his two sons(mainly by Sun Quan). Respect and gratitude to my old king!

While the campaign map looks beautiful I think my favourite thing about 3K so far is the soundtrack. It’s so bloody epic!! I’m on the edge of my seat ready to go to War every time I hear it!

This looks like a great map on which to pursue Lü Bu!

0:41 dam CA you guys really gave it your all for Three Kingdoms! Guys you see how the Imperial Seal of China has a gold corner in the trailer? This was because when the Han dynasty was being usurped by an outsider (before the 3K era), the empress tried to smash the seal and chipped off a corner. The usurper, Wang Mang, had the corner restored with gold. What a simple but brilliant piece of detail!

The story of the video happened when Sun Jian's army captured the Capital Luoyang as the pioneer of the Anti Dong Zhuo Coalition while Dong Zhuo burned the Luoyang city and fled to Changan, kidnapping the emperor and the whole court. In the city Sun Jian found the imperial jade seal which was built during Qin Dynasty in 221 B.C., 400 years ago, which had always been the symbol of imperial power. Soon after Luoyang fell the coalition dissolved due to the conflicts among warlords. The lyric of the song in the video is the first paragraph (上阕) of a Linjiangxian 临江仙 by Yang Shen 杨慎 of Ming Dynasty. 临江仙 滚滚长江东逝水，浪花淘尽英雄。是非成败转头空。青山依旧在，几度夕阳红。 白发渔樵江渚上，惯看秋月春风。一壶浊酒喜相逢。古今多少事，都付笑谈中。 Lingjiangxian (name of the tunes to which the Ci poems are composed) The roaring Yangtze flows ever eastward, Its waves scouring away all heroes. Love how CA can recognize theres two completely different fan bases fantasy and historical and managed to make a game catering to both absolutely fantastic!

OMG didn't expect a Sun Jian trailer! Sun Wu is the underrated faction of Three Kingdoms. Shu Han and Cao Wei are usually more popular. I prefer Cap Wei myself.

Sun Jian is a great example of the opportunistic leader who nobody wants or needs, but are sadly helpless to resist as he takes advantage of the turmoil to build a massive power base for himself and his family. Like Napoleon Bonaparte, all Sun Jian has is his name and very little else, but rises to power through guile, determination, and a little luck. We admire Sun Juan’s ambition, but know that he is not the ultimate solution for the nations ills. He’s merely a consequence of the incompetencies of whoever was the previous administration, government, or the current political group that held power before him.

I am in tears. Tears of excitement that finally someone made this amazing part of history of my country epic again.

Moving this game's setting to Lustria was a really outside-the-box move!

Those art elements like falling peach petals and dropping willow shoots in a dim background REALLY GET ME!!!!! It remains me of the traditional artistic conception in the ancient Chinese poems! Love the work you spend on those details!!! I am really into it!!!!

I really dig the OST. I hope we'll get so much more vocals in background music. The very, very few times Warhammer 2 has any it's always goosebumps chilling. Plus I love the cartoonish colors.

Growing up, my brother, my father and I used to play RTK on the SNES. I have so many great memories. My brother would play as Cao Cao, my dad as Liu Bei, and since I was the youngest they thought I had the worst kingdom which was Wu. Boy did I surprise them with Zhou Yu and Sun Ce among others.

A little part of me died when I saw a grown-up Shang Xiang standing alongside her young father.

That map! Damm ! Beautiful imperial China in all her beauty ! I am now official hyped for it !

Anybody else think that the Starks from Game of Thrones were based on The Sun family from the Three Kingdoms era? Theres a lot of similarities, they both hold family and honour in high esteem, they both lose their family leaders to betrayals, and they are related to the first men of their nation (Game of Thrones: Starks from The "North", Three Kingdoms: Suns from The "South")

Time will kill everything,but history。

I think a chinese setting has sooo much potential for total war. I'm hoping for a more "historical" dlc, maybe warring states period or Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. EDIT: Yup, I realised now there will be a classic mode. Win-win for me.

“滚滚长江东逝水 浪花淘尽英雄 是非成败转头空 青山依旧在 几度夕阳红” The song is actually the beginning of a poem created by Yang Shen in Ming Dynasty to express his thought about three kingdoms'history，and used as the opening song of《Romance of the Three Kingdoms》,a well-known TV series in 1994.This series has been a legend to tell everyone about history(recreated in some ways) of three kingdoms. Glad to see CA study a lot about the culture beneath history!

Damn the southlands look so lush and green....Hope creative assambly took the time to model the terrain based on RTK. Snowy north, dessert & flat central plains and mountains of the Shu land 😍

The Sun clan has always been interesting in my opinion. They are one of the most influential Clan in all of Chinese History; from Sun Tzu, to Sun Jian & Sun Quan, and then Sun Zhongshan (or Sun Yat-sen). I admire them to be somewhat of a grand-family of Pioneers

My favourite Faction of this Era... And I shall lead it to Greatness and everlasting Glory! May the Tiger never falter! FOR WU AND THE SUN-FAMILY!

The poem used in the BGM here is also used as the opening song for the ROTK 1994 series. Great poem.

TV tropes mentioned under Badass Family that Sun Jian and his kids are seen towards the end of his reveal trailer and if playing him, both him and Sun Ce can live long enough to see it happen. I never had a favourite example of the trope until now.

I just hope the settlement building upgrades are more like med 2. I love tw warhammer but I miss the in depth city management of med 2.

The landscape looks very beautiful and detailed I cant wait to get my hands on this game! It's like the dev poured every ounce of their love into this project which mean they are serious and I can just tell this will be the best game to release next year
