Runesmiths. Heroes. Runelords are lords for dwarves. Empire is getting a warrior priest lord, that makes me hope that dwarf will get runelords. There is even a legendary runelord

A bit late, but interesting thing to note this DLC was directly based on the Expansion for the tabletop game called. "Sigmar's Blood", all the units featured in this DLC were from that Expansion from the Silver Bullet Handgunners to the Tattersouls.
Thank you for the Mac release update. Happy to see that the entire roster is slowly being filled for each faction. Still missing units like the Coven Throne and Spirit Hosts, plus the Celestial Hurricanum and various Empire characters. Nevertheless, keep up the great work my friends. I hope to soon be playing this amazing game on my Mac.

Apparently people think this is free, no it is not free, you will indeed have to pay for this. There are some free units, but not all of them are free. There would not be a "Pre-Order now" button at the end if it were free, there would be no reason to Pre-Order free content.

Can someone point me to where anyone with any actual authority on the matter has said it is SEGA who sets the DLC plan for Creative Assembly? Because I have only ever seen official quotes to the contrary... There is also the fact that other SEGA in-house studios have entirely different policies on DLC and often give it away Free like the Yakuza series, Project Diva or Valkyria Chronicles on PC...

Unfortunately we still have a while to go before Skaven. Wood Elves and Tomb Kings (according to a DLC list datamine) are supposed to come before Skaven.
According to datamined DLC list, the next DLC will be Wood Elves and the next Free Content will be a new Hero and a new lore of magic for the Empire (probably like how the Amber Wizard was added alongside Beastmen, I'm thinking a Grey Wizard for Lore of Shadows). After that the next free content is a Legendary Lord for the Greenskins.
Trouble with the Vamires in a nutshell: the zombies and skeletons work best as swarm units to suppress the enemy. They aren't designed to pack any heavy firepower but to slow the enemy units until the heavy hitting units can arrive. So no vampire player EVER uses them, thanks to the pop cap.
Maybe the RoR will solve that problem? We can hope. I have to agree though, once your enemies start fielding armored armies, skeletons become super useless forcing you to upgrade to Grave Guard, which really cost too much tbh. Zombies are best used as meat shields to slow enemy cavalry/soak up ranged fire mid to late-game, which is fine I guess, that's what they're for.
I'm coming to the sudden realization that CA is probably gonna ride the Warhammer train for a very long time. Not saying that's a bad thing (I quite like Warhammer, and I've played this game at Pax East and rather enjoyed it), but I'm dying for a Total War game set in the Victorian Era. (preferably with a focus on the wars for Italian and German unification and the scramble for Africa, but the American Civil war would be cool to see as well)
Yup, the second team has been working on the next historical TW for awhile now after they had finished Attila I believe. I've been playing Total War for a long time and I think I like the incredible diversity of Warhammer more overall but I agree with you that a Victorian era game would be great. Or even an Empire 2 that has an increased time line. 17th - 19th century would be cool imo.
They actually got like... 3-5 if I am correct? One working on History total Wars, one working on Total Warhammer, Third working on Halo Wars 2, 4th and 5th being about total war kingdoms and arena but I'm slightly talking out of my ass now because I've got no idea.

When Helman was introduced....they mentioned SHADOW.... Lore of Shadow confirmed? Wonder what makes Helman special if he doesn't have a special lore aside from riding a Corpse Cart....else he would be just like Heinrich Kemmler... The Knights of the Blazing sun are introduced like another UNIQUE unit (Which makes 5 : Flaggelants, Free Company, Corspe Cart, Mortis Engine & Knights of the Blazing Sun) And they also seem like Shock cavalry...... So Empire will have Empire Knights, Reiksguard, Knights of the Blazing Sun and 2 Demigryphs ...all of those are Shock-Cavalry.... I really wonder what makes them special....like Immune to Psychology? Armor-Piercing?
Lore of shadow will not be added right now, they've confirmed all the new things they will be adding with this DLC and FreeLc, Helman is an apprentice of mannfred von carstine (Helman is a necromancer who uses lore of death). You can find more about him in the Books "Sigmar's Blood".
Well... the next FLC is supposedly a new lore of magic + empire hero so, you're not entirely off-base. Oh, also Knights of the Blazing Sun do fire damage, so essentially they're anti-vampire cavalry.
Ghorst has a unique ability to summon Grave Guard or even a Wight King. He also has much more diverse and elaborated Necromancy-boosts as far as I've gathered. He also gains the Ghorst Brothers Corpse Carriage. Knights of the Blazing Sun also has Magic Damage and Fire Damage. They are also a direct upgrade to Empire Knights.
Thanks for adding even more units to the already largest and most diverse rosters in the game. Empire and VCs are now even more overpowered than before. :P
Waaait a minute. White Dwarf once played a battle report made from a campaign, wich served (kinda) as an intro for The Skub Times. So... END TIMES CONFIRMED???
Seems like they're doing their own end times plot (as some things are like SoC, and some things are End Timesy). So I'd expect to see some End Times content at some point at the very least. And yes, you're not crazy, this dlc is based off the Sigmar's Blood 8e supplement which was sort of a prequel to the end times.
It's not really sad at all when there are thousands of times as many modders than their are CA developers. Can you just please use your brain for a few seconds before you commence with the typing?
if modded reskins are actually enough for you, you dont have to buy this. I personally prefer actually new Units instead of radious 12415512th reskin of an already existing unit that makes no sense lorewise.
CA have seperate teams working on different things, 1 team is working on the next historical game (e.g. Med 3) and another team is working on this game etc
+Peerro Ta though he really should mention that can doesn't have an endless supply of money.if they are focusing on one game(warhammer) they don't have equal resources going to the other.he should also not that can released an official statement saying they would not want to visit a period more than twice.
Good to see the Knights of the Blazing Sun are in the game now. p.s. I hope they add all the Knightly Orders of the Empire in the future especially the Knights Griffon my favorite Order and in the same pack... XD
You know, seeing as the whole focus of this is "Man vs the Undead", I'm almost surprised (and maybe a wee bit salty) that they chose to go with the Knights of the Blazing Sun over the Black Guard (Morrite templars)
a lot of very complex models there, which is weird. They said they could not add units like this to beastmen/dwarf/undead as the units would have ended up costing way too much.

Our third Empire LL won't be Kurt Helborg, Reiksmarshall, Bearer of the Superior Moustache? Curses. Though, if Vlad von Carstein's going to be an FLC, that puts the VC LL count on 4, including Ghorst. Does this mean all factions can eventually end up with more-than-three LLs? If so, nice. I've waited this long to embark on a quest to acquire the Legendary Moustache for Helborg (When equipped, increases aura size and leadership bonus, obviously.), I can wait a couple of months longer. That aside, I'm really psyched for next week, now. I get to play as Mannfred's vampire-daddy. I get to have a guy riding a massive mobile shrine to battle. I get to put a Strigoi on a Terrorgheist. And then there's the addition of a knightly order of the Empire to go with the whole thing. Pretty awesome.
Whoa! Games Workshop, CA and Sega are only charging 7.99 (7.19 sale) for this DLC, what has gone right in the world to not have them charge full game price for something that is already in the game via mods?
Mods will happen whether CA likes it or not, it's an inevitability, whether or not they have the ease of access like they do now, it will still happen. Look at Medieval 2 and its Warhammer mod. My point is, they are adding features in, that you apparently are going to pay for no matter what, that people are already modding into the game. Take for example the blood and gore pack they charged people for, already a mod in the workshop. If you're okay with their piecemeal practices, I assume that you'll be perfectly fine when they charge $7.99 for each different faction within each different race as well, huh? Which, mind you, will mean 11 more DLC packs to finish the Empire alone, there are 12 nations in the Empire and you can play as one of them, without mods.
Nagash (Tomb kings army), Daemons can't wait to see how they play out, Skavens... swarms, lizardmen, wood. high. and dark elves, and more, I hope you guys will have all the armies, factions and units so some of us can have real fun End time war style "Time for Chaos my bothers bare your marks and prove to Archaon we shall be victorious!"
"Why was this not in the game before?" Game developers have to cut corners and omit content if they ever want their game to see the light of day, plus production is expensive and waiting too long will cause people to be disinterested, especially for games of this size and quality. Also MMOs cost just as much and charge 15 bucks a month no matter if they add content that month or not so in truth this is not bad imo.
Just need the Empire hunters and their roster is 100% complete (minus bonus things like knights of the white wolf and the remaining lore of magic wizards)
