After a neck-and-neck thriller against the Angry Old Man, Kevin from @TotalTennisDomination steps up to face his next challenger: the infamous Toxic Tennis Troll himself... #tennis #vs #match
Very emotional set. You could see the contrast in personalities as Kevin was calm and collected while Mark was....well, Mark. Props to the commentary team as well, Megan and Mattie did a good job.
Solid set full of emotions; Mark's trademark fire psychology vs Kevin's brilliant perseverance. Mark's huge challenge with his dietary choices and Kevin's with the new court and lack of game play in the recent years, besides Scott the Beast the day before. Thank you RT, Megan and Maddie (spellings??). M
Kevin is such a battler. Was fighting to stay in it the entire set, feeling like he would be broken at any point and then he clutches up when he needs to! Just goes to show how much will power / mental strength / taking your chances really matters in tennis.
One of my favourite sets ever on RT! Some peak-level toxicity from Mark and pure grit from Kevin to win a set he really had no right to win given all of Mark's opportunities. Can't wait for set two! 🔥🎾
A set of ice and fire. Kevin's got ice in his veins while Mark's breathing fire. Way to go back and forth and props to Kevin for winning the points that matter to win that first set.
So much great stuff. Lesson I take is that trusting your best under pressure works out more often than not. Mark hit three cautious slices on the last point, whereas Kevin went for big topspin and forced the error. Granted it was off a second serve…
absolutely brutal loss, Mark looking in charge of that set the whole time and Kevin taking advantage of the one opportunity. Props to Kevin for hanging tight though on all those break points Mark had! His serve is really solid, great technique.
For me, this is the best set I've seen on RT. Been waiting for this match-up ever since this whole format started years ago, and it is not disappointing! Very very tactical, high IQ tennis. This set is a case study for managing energy and focus, and in the end really, what your mentality is like on the biggest of big points. It's so impressive how kevin managed to stay with mark and not get behind even when mark was playing so well and seemed to be all over it. Incredible match, que sigan asi muchachos!! Vamos dale!!
I can't help but picture Mark sitting in his car before the match hunched over a pad of paper, scribbling down silly one-liners like Eminem composing rhymes in 8 Mile.
I thought nothing would top Kevin and Angry Old Man, but WOW! This first set was just peak competition and maximum effort by both players. I can't wait for Set 2. Real Tennis, keep up the great offerings. Gonna go buy some tennis balls from Diadem.
Really spicy set, loved it. Wild that Mark had so many chances to break but Kevin only got one and converted. Definitely hammers home how a whole set can hinge on one or two points. Looking forward to the rest! I remember Kevin was mentioning some issues/soreness with his toe at the end of the match with Scott. Since this was filmed the next day, I wonder if any lingering tenderness there might account for the somewhat slower movement around the court even though he still had plenty of explosiveness in his shots and didn't seem THAT tired. At any rate, you gotta do your best to win with what you have that day, and Kevin certainly pulled through in that department. Kudos to everyone involved, I really love watching high level rec matches in this format. Well shot, well edited, great audio, great commentary.
Some really good quality tennis here guys. Mark was probably the better player until 5-5 but Kevin just played a more solid backend of the set and applied the pressure when it mattered. Very close though👍
Great tennis, crazy serving and very clutch from kevin. I like the commentary. Especially Megan doesnt sugarcoat anything 😂 also love that cocky Mark is back. Hope he can get the second
Didn't watch this channel for a year or more but just remembered to watch my favorite players. I will always be an old man scott boy, because of his attacking game and my own elderhood. But Mark is the special one i must root for - regardless of how much i like Kevin, because like me, Mark still hasnt mastered a decent healthy food pattern.
I'd love to see a whole match from the low camera angle used at the conclusion of the video to highlight critical points from the next set. Excelente partido, chavales.
haahaaaa love the humming of "eye of the tiger" I feel like Mark's energy brought out something different in Kevin's personality and mindset than Scott did
Kevin - that is the first thing she did said, "Why did he serve and volley." :) She knows you. :) I think Kevin gave Mark 3 points, (so far) b/c he would not call the ball out. Great play for pulling it out. Where is set 2? Congrats to Mark for playing well and Keving for pulling it out.
Kevin's experience really showed in the clutch time of this set. He kept battling but started really slapping the ball and attacking to force errors. His cardio is definitely not up to par with Mark though so will be interesting how the match goes on.
geez, if a fit guy like TTD is getting tired w/ one set... what hope do we middle aged pudgy men have... guess I need to stick w/ doubles :( Looking forward to the next set.
Mark talks too much smack!!! If he was on the other side of the court, it would be my last time inviting him out to play. Very annoying. Poor etiquette.
Can anyone even see anything from these slow motion line calls replays? The video is so blurry with the low frame rate that they make balls look even closer than they probably were.
