This is what the freaking radio station should be playing. Beautiful classy music with one of the best bands . NOT THE GARBAGE you hear today. This is music and a true artist. ❤.
David plays this introduction, then the band just takes you to the most magical place in music. This band has been the soundtrack of my life. Each musician in this group past and present puts their heart and soul into the music like no other band. Thank you Toto for making the best music that has ever been written and recorded.
@@tropialex Rosanna, Ill be over you, stop loving You, ésta, georgy porgy, stranger in town, 99, hot the line en fin.... Es la música más bella que he escuchado.
This version makes me think of my ex. I really loved him but I was in a very dark place in my life. And I felt he deserved better. He dedicated this song to me in 1993 when we were both beginning our Junior year of HS. We both realized that we did love each other but there was too much anger that I held onto. Sometimes it takes a beautiful song like this for the person listening to it to realise what a good person they have and to feel the pain of Loosing that person. I have never had any song do that until I listened to Toto and I Won't Hold You Back.
The beginning makes me cry cause David is amazing playing the piano. His introduction is amazing, harmonious, very sentimental. Steve vocals are terrific and also kill me. This is truly one of the best pieces of all time. They have wrote balads that will never be forgotten
this is one of my favourite ballads ever. the harmony is spine tingling, the song is worth listening to over and over, I never get tired of hearing the beautiful words and music, it also holds some very special memories for me, with love
Sandy Kennedy I sing this every chance i get in my music group on Facebook, called jabs music lab, all is welcome we have a lot of fun and different themes every night
As a pianist, this beginning makes me so very emotional. David is amazing. I cry everytime I hear it. Much luv and prayers for his future. He is one of my all time favorites. Steve vocals are terrific and also kill me. This is truly one of the best pieces of all time. It really shows how spectacular they are being session musicians for all the greats as well. This does happen to be genre as a young adult, and who didn't love TOTO.
This performance was in Paris in 1990....how I wish I could have witnessed all the sensational songs from that gig....Toto will be a legacy band forever in my heart and soul.
Toto has been around since the 70s and came to fame late 70/80s.from there skyrocketed to one of the best bands in the planet.and those talented back-up singers could NOT sound any better..❤❤❤.
.......and yet your heart has healed, this brings back that little bit of heartbreak. Just for the few minutes of this song your taken back to that point where you thought you'd never get through the loss of that special person. And here you are reflecting on that very moment. Your heart skips a beat. Your good now but you think back to when you weren't ok, and you can't help but wonder where they are and do you ever cross their mind. Love is a crazy thing isn't it. And songs like this take you to all the good and bad times of it. And through it all we come back to our hearts memories from lost love. Here's to the ones we love and loved.....
This song makes me think of my Mom. It was popular when she was very sick in the hospital and we didn't know whether or not she would make it. It breaks my heart every time I hear it, but I can't stay away from it......
Has to be one of the top ten songs of all time toto was a really good band but did they get their credit l dont think so they made a lot of good records
He did write the song (Steve Lukather), He also wrote "I'll be over you' their Fahrenheit album and " How does it feel" off their Isolation album which are both emotional songs.
Lukather is sick with those vocals I feel like he never gets credit for his vocals if almost all the hits they have he sang most of the leads along with Bobby
Que belleza ! tuve el placer de verlos en vivo en Londres en sus 40 años con la música (2018) este no lo tacaron pero maravilloso verlos gracias TOTO por tanto talento y tan hermosas melodías
I couldn't stand this song when I was young...but then I only heard it on the radio driving around in the Volkswagen bug. Now that I am in the second half of my life, I cant hold back the tears due to the profound deep emotion this song elicits in me. I identify purely with the words and soulful tune this song delivers. Absolutely humanly beautiful! Thank you, I am sorry it took me so long to appreciate this timeless piece..
Best performance of this song EVER!!! Just makes you wonder what the artist were thinking when they were performing this song at that moment. Did they feel how special this was? Were they collectively thinking, "We are truly in our zone here tonight." The stars seemed to align with this perfect performance! I can't stop listening to it! Just awesome!!! :)
One of Toto's most everlasting life performance ever, forever and a day. Harmonics, sustains, melodies, and magical notes of David Paich combined along with Steve Lukather's strong soul voice character brings all the melancholy yet powerful lyrics dive deep down into the bottom of all our souls. Toto simply nailed it at Le Zenith!
So glad you all are finding this music. This was album of the year for 1982 with, I believe, 6 nominations. Whether you like it or not, the 80s were a decade of very interesting & re-livable, music. Many memorable musicians. Timothy B Schmit from the Eagles did background on a lot of these tracks.
Great Piano man. I never played keyboards, only drums and guitars. But when I seat firstly on keys, I knew everything how to play David witout any lessons. Melody and words are amazing.
It's too bad that I can't simply put on the stereo in my car and hear songs like this anymore. I miss the 80's. It was the best decade of my life for many reasons, including this great music.
Passionate, harmonious, and unforgettable. Toto immortalized themselves because they sang from the heart. Other hearts recognize that--and will continue to listen to their melodic masterpieces long after the band passes on.
TOTO - one of the best rockband in history for me absolutely nr 1. Top musicians - R.I.P - Jeff Porcaro-drums, Mike Porcaro-bassguitar, Fergie Fredericksen-vocalist - thank you boys 👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Veo sólo comentarios en inglés , desde Chile decir está canción es maravillosa, evoca tiempos pasados, da nostalgia , pena quizá , que música más hermosa de los 80s
If I had another chance tonight I'd try to tell you that the things we had were right Time can erase the love we shared But it gives me time to realize just how much you cared Now you're gone, I'm really not the same, I guess I held myself to blame Time can erase the things we said But it gives me time to realize that you're the one who's sad You know I won't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found You know I can't hold you back now Now that I'm alone it gives me time To think about the years that you were mine Time can erase the love we shared But it gives me time to realize just how much you cared You know I won't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found You know I can't hold you back now You know I won't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found You know I can't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found You know I can't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found You know I can't hold you back now, The love we had just can't be found
I was going through a teenage break up and you know how gut wrenching and emotional that is, when this song came out. This song is my all time favorite.....still listening in 2020 💗
Truly one of the most beautiful songs ever written and an Incredible live version! Steve Lukather is massively underrated as a musician, and what can you say about David Paich but WOW!!!
+Cathy Bedwell wow steve wrote this song? whn i heared this song in fm radio 1991 i dont knw the title n i call d radio station jst to ask the title the nxt day i buy the cd of toto.
Jenny, Dawne, Lorrie, Tina, Ginger, Melanie…. That guitar solo is for each of you. That’s the sound of my heart breaking at some point in my life for you… I don’t know how else to explain it…
Heard this on the radio the other day. Sang along as if I'd heard it yesterday and it's been ages. Such a beautiful piece. This version is breathtaking.
...CERRAR LOS OJOS Y DISFRUTAR tan espectacular introducción; este bello tema es otra verdadera OBRA DE ARTE MUSICAL para la historia...GRACIAS TOTO por el buen gusto, por el talento hecho canción...
Toto was greatest band and sing I can listen millions times I did my high days still do today. Look back song back 1980s was classic always be classic years come. Class of 1983. Sure bring back greatest songs on radio in Iowa.
@@cathybedwell573 i was told one time, if you want to see a real great show, pass up all of the other bands, and go to a Toto concert. 35 years later, I understand what they were talking about, unreal talent!!! Thanks Toto.
What a BAND! I`ve been a fan since around 1986 when I first heard them. I think they are a rare jewel of that era......lost in all the big hair bands of the 80`s. Personally, I think their depth in the music is far greater than the more "popular" bands of that time. About your comment...well, I pour my heart out like this and get burned every time. But I won`t stop treating a woman the way she deserves to be, just because of the past. I`m looking for my "Rosanna."
