Its nearly time for Ossie"s knee"s to go all trembley "in the cup for Tottingham" as General Burkinshaw"s Spurs side produce one of the greatest nights in the clubs history against Wolves at Highbury,home of their bitter rivals Arsenal.The 2 sides had played out an after extra time 2-2 draw 4 days previously at Hillsborough with goals by Archibald & Hoddle for the Londoner"s being cancelled out by Hibbitt & Willie Carr who converted a 90th minute penalty after a highly contentious incident involving Kenny Hibbitt... Highbury Attendance - 52539 .. Tottenham line up - Aleksic / Hughton / Miller / Roberts / Perryman / Villa / Ardiles / Galvin / Hoddle / Archibald / Crooks - (Sub - Brooke)

I know Ricky’s goal in the final was one of the best but his goal here was very special too 😊😊

Great to see extended version of the game, one which I have very fond memories of. I think this match proved to everyone (including me) that Spurs were turning into a seriously good team. They'd been showing it in patches all season but were often let down by dodgy defending. Glenn's pass for the second goal is a thing of beauty and Garth Crooks was on fire that evening, Ricky Villa's beauty simply the icing on the cake.

What a night! I was stood in a packed North Bank. The attendance was 53,000; of which 45,000 were Spurs fans. Highbury hadn't seen an atmosphere like it in years.

Simon, Thanks very much for this double-look at this excellent Spurs side. Great night at Highbury as Ossie''s Wembley dream comes true. Marvellous performances from Hoddle, Crooks and Ardiles and great second and third goals from Crooks and Villa. Also Hoddle's strike v Liverpool.This was a replay of the semi-final at Hillsborough where thankfully tragedy due to overcrowding was avoided!

Magical moments, when Wembley meant Wembley!! Only bettered by the replay that year. How Spurs could do with a Roberts, Miller type of player now? Real blood and thunder the pair of them #COYS

I'm a Pompey fan and was 11 years old at the time...what a great Spurs team that was. I remember wanting Tottenham Hotspur to beat Manchester City in the final!

Great night on the North Bank ( as usual) was 18 now near 60 but remember that night like it was yesterday. Took half the pitch home with us lol COYS

An absolutely fantastic evening. On the pitch at the end of the game, and swinging from the chandelier in the Plimsoll. Recollect scum fans lobbing bits of concrete over the fence from the Avenell Road side earlier in the evening.
