I bought a few stack tech boxes at lowes when I saw them up on the shelves, after messing with them for a day I’ve already hunted down the rest of the stack at several local lowes and sold all of my ryobi link and pack out items. I’m all in on this new system, it’s way better than the rest.
I have been holding out from investing in a set because of wanting various options. StackTech has answered and I've already gone to the 2 Lowes stores near me to begin puchasing my wants.
I'm very excited for the xl drawer. I like to store my welding helmet and jacket together, and the sliding drawer on my Craftsman rolling tool box is great for that. No other system has something like that, so I'm probably going to choose this system for my shop. I have a few packout and Ridgid boxes, but if these are good and have a pretty square interior I'll probably completely switch over next year
Great video!!! So many choices. I'm currently in the Milwaukee eco system but if the quality & price is good I'm in. I think we all just want quality blacked out carriers.
Regarding flex in the lid, I don't think these will have any issues at all. I have a couple of the boxes on hand and there is actually a metal bar along the front inside edge of the lids, which makes them really stiff with zero flex.
I went Ridgid, but truth be told if they dont step their game up. I can see me possibly adding this to the mix as well. Great video. Excited to see what you have next.
Toughbuilt already changed the toolbelt game with cliptech and now being able to take bags off the side of the box and go right to the bag will be even better
I just got a chance to play with the new system at Lowes. I love what I am seeing. And especially love the design/look of this versus the competition. The reason is because I can use the system to store tools as it is intended. But also for other purposes too because it doesn’t scream “toolbox.” Such as a modular system for my boat. There was two shortcoming that I thought of while at the store. One was whether they had drawers coming or if there will be a deep investment into this new ecosystem. Your video provided the answer to that question. Looks like a bunch of good stuff coming. The only other thing is the ability to open up the boxes on the bottom without having to separate the stacks. This is one thing I love about the boxes Festool uses. That said, it won’t be a deal breaker for me. I am liking the latching, look and design of the ToughBuilt system the most among all the new and old competing units for my purpose. Also love all the accessories and idea you have brought to the space as well. Keep up the good work.
Bro I love your page… I just started developing my tool set and I’m on Makita Battery platform I have a Husky set of mechanic tools and I’m seriously considering a Husky build out box set…. Just wanted to share….” Keep doing your thing my dude!!!!!
I'm trying hard not to do mobile work, but got to make that dollar. I'm still debating mounting boxes to a flat bed, or going with a stacker. Bought a DeWalt roller, and have junky BASIC stacker from a yard sale. Doing ok, but need more. Thanks for the video
Very comprehensive video. I think the Toughbuilt has a lot going for it, but the compatibility of the Packout with my Milwaukee tools might be a dealbreaker.
Valid. Are you referring to the vacuum and lights? The full size boxes fit surprisingly nicely on top of toughbuilt boxes so I think the two systems will work well together
You are correct; I think it'd be nice to use the rolling toolbox to carry my vacuum. If they fit together, that'd be a dream, but I can't imagine that's intentional. Anyhoo, the packout corner clips you sell might make the pill easier to swallow.
I work in the Security space and have tools ranging from Laptops/ Network components, specialty programming tools, to door coring jigs, cutting equipment to pipe benders and more. I have some money invested in the Rigid Platform. but if the Toughbuilt Stacktech and the Transporter can deliver on everything being promised expect my rigid stuff to be up for sale soon.
I have ridgid it's ok. There are no issues at all, but I'm at a point now that I need to re organize my van, and ridgid doesn't have any options, no drawers, and so on. I'm not mad about buying them they were cheap but made very good. My needs have changed, I guess I outgrew them.
Honestly as long as a system is just home depot exclusive its as good as nonexistent to me. Looking forward to though tools offering, with any luck they will be sold on amazon.
Ridgid 3 drawers are coming out December and 2-4 drawers hit Jan/Feb. If TB had drawers on release I would invest but I just spent 2500 on ridgid and tstaks and I’m not waiting till summer for drawers 😂
We need the base line dimensions. My van is designed around the measurements of systainers. These look deeper than those but shallower than packout. I like how they stay square and don’t have things like latches and corners hanging outside the profile.
@@JakeWeihe I’m torn on these Black Friday sales between ryobi and packout. Figure I should go with packout to start because there’s more options, but I already have a handful of ryobi cordless and zero Milwaukee.
Nice video, Jake! I'm curious what type of plastic do you use for your prints? Some of the stuff I've printed using PLA have failed and become brittle over time. What type would you recommend to use for prints like these? Thanks!
Pla is a one of the most brittle material. It’s actually very strong but can fatigue more over time. The best of the best would be something like PETG Carbon fiber, or ABS or ASA. But I use petg. Great balance of ease of use, cost, and durability
yo can i suggest a product that i would def buy not sure who else would, i could certainly jimmi-rig something but like your sleek looks. a product that connects to the husky build out and can lock in a 6', 4' and 2' level and allow a chain to pass through and hold them to the side you may already have this in which case if appreciate a link. i already can't leave high quality levels out at the job site but it seems people nab even the mid range ones at lunch breaks
Yeah, not to sure about a lot of these modular systems, especially for what they cost. I invested in ridgid a while ago, they were the best for the money for a l ou ng time. I thought competition would bring down the prices? Ridgid has gone up 40-60% from a year ago, but I guess that's most things... most seem a waste of space(milwaukee), with to much focus on aesthetics, with metal corners that serve little to no use. Flex looks a little better thought out, quality & price we'll see? This Tough Built looks well designed, but I question quality, and all of them are to expensive.
Like the complete modularity ,unlike the difference between my PO crate and say the toolbox. The metal corners and bar in the lids are great for rigidity, don't hang dead rats or tools outside on them..just extra structure. How they're carried ,like transporter and wall storage. But I live in Ga where it's hot, that black will be unusable. The 3 points of contact including latch is asking to break on the 3rd tipover.. my PO stack has fallen at least 10x without breaking, since at least 6 tabs holding it and latch is only a latch. I use the boxes to carry my tools to the worksite, don't care for 200 accessories for papertowels. I will buy the hospital gurney and adapt it to PO. This will make fanbois happy, lots of incredibly stupid designs for men who want to use them for work. Some guy will paint his car to match, and get a vinyl wrap too.
This looks like a great system. But how do you deal with all the money invested in other systems? And in another year or two version 2 of systems come out to entice you. With improvements in the current systems you’ll be able to keep this discussion going on indefinitely.
No one beats the pack out design! New companies have it easy. Just copy Milwaukee’s design and add the stuff we all wished the pack out had and you’ll come up in top
As for the battery, I noticed that Bosch started rebranding some of their batteries under ampshare. If it’s being sold at Lowe’s, I can only think of Dewalt or Bosch.
@@ProxyFinalI was looking at a FEIN multitool the other day and the rep explained it’s powered by a Bosch ampshare battery. First time I’d heard of it but not something I imagine DeWalt or Makita will join anytime soon!
"Real soon now" as they used to say for computer software. If you can wait 6 to 9 months great. If you need something now then you have to go with the existing offerings.
Mobility and organization. Many people in various trades must travel to different jobsites. I won't get into the many obvious examples. Would be like explaining why so many people have dressers and kitchen cabinets with doors and drawers.
@@mrrutledge1967 with the surplus of metal filing cabinets out there you can customize a layout to suit your needs. You'll have better open access to your tools not needing to unstack, better safety and metal will out last plastic.
