Looks like a character where you're not so much as playing as her, but more like she's taking you for a ride... And she doesn't listen well when you pull the reins.
I have alot of nitpicks regarding Saki. First of all, she's easily the worst of the three matriarchs. She lacks any form of defense, and her shot is fairly weak, even after the patch where her shot was buffed to be at least below average. Having piercing doesn't even help much since the damage done to enemies that are pierced is very negligible. My biggest nitpick is how Saki, lorewise, is supposed to be very strong. Her ability is literally having unmatched leg strength. Now, one might argue that it only applies to physical attacks and not danmaku. However, Suika is another character that is known to be very strong physically, but her shot and levels 1 and 2 actually decimate bosses, unlike Saki whose damage is like shining someone in the face with a flashlight. This game has alot of questionable decisions, but I feel this takes the cake for one of the most nonsensical and questionable decision ZUN has made in developing this game. Rant over. Next time, we have the best matriarch, who was questionably buffed even more in 1.10c despite already being very good in the old version
Gonna take over for the people that usually go over what each character does in every UDoALG vid LeSanae So, Saki used to be weak in the 1.00a version of the game. REALLY weak. Like, you're pretty much better off timing every boss attack out due to how weak the lasers were. Saki's Zanmu and Chiyari are of course a massive problem for LNN/LNB...and maybe for 1cc's. Saki's Zanmu was by far one of the hardest(or the hardest idk). 1.10c Saki got her damage buffed slightly, but due to how the new Zanmu shot works...she basically turned into a "C3 to win" fight. Which kinda sucks.
Holy mid this character is so bad. There is such a thing as going too fast in this game, and boy does Saki reach that level. And she's not even the fastest character either! And for having a good trait, that being a piercing shot, it just does so little damage that, even if you can hit bosses while enemies are passing under them, it barely matters anyway. Let's not forget her Lv1 being actively not good. At least her Lv2 is an alright enemy cleaner, but for anything else it's just not great. 19:12 oops annotation
Really? Curiosity, is that like a pre-patch Saki thing or something, and she got a buff in 1.10? Cause honestly her shot strength felt more... normal here than anything else? Like, it definitely wasn't one of the _stronger_ shots here. But I can point to a number of characters with a weaker shot than her.
I'm not gonna lie, I don't know the full extent of the patch changes, but if Saki got a shot power change like people are saying, it's honestly damn near unnoticeable to me

Something I don’t understand is why beast spirit couldn’t touch flesh enemies and haniwa, they can still shoots laser and danmaku right?, Saki’s ability is to KICK hard so…
Spell card rules might be an influence on this. To my understanding, danmaku battles are more so battles of attrition rather than to death. Perfect Memento in Strict Sense had also stated that danmaku battles can never result in the death of a human, which could also influence the beast matriarch’s plans of taking over the surface. Having flesh allies would allow the matriarchs to overcome these potential limitations from danmaku. Biten, Enoko, and Chiyari might be able to cause physical harm and destruction (which the beast spirits cannot do) without bending the rules of gensokyo.
@@broccoliiandcheese4491But spellcard rules only apply to people in gensyoko as an equalizer to prevent people with powerful abilities from destroying everything. Yokai and others that are not in gensyoko don't have to follow spellcard rules technically(other than the fact that these are bullet hell games so spellcards or not the gameplays gonna be the same)
Ah, beloved piercing lasers... when did you become so useless. Perhaps fittingly an incredibly straightforward character with an incredibly straightforward gameplan in both Story and PvP. Unfortunately, she's not great at doing either of those...
