You owe us, random RU-vid people, NOTHING. It is only your generosity that allows the rest of us to follow along on your restoration journey. Thank you kindly. You two have a unique easy going comforting presence on camera. Your style sets your restoration channel far above most of the others. Those channels are good as well, but yours is outstanding! Your video productions move along at a great pace while not getting stuck at any one spot too long. Your videos mix in a generous amount of "after" pictures/video that displays the finished product. That additional editing effort takes a lot of work on your part and yields an superior viewing experience. Thank you for your quality productions! It doesn't surprise me that you had a few corporations/businesses "donate" their products for you to use. Your glowing recommendation of the individual that did your canvas work made me wish you had named their business as well (If you did I apologize for missing that piece). I may be buying a boat in Port Angeles as well (much smaller) and it likely needs new canvas. -Respectfully
@SeekingSeas

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm happy to see you appreciate the extra effort we put in! We didn't mention him because he went out of business and disappeared from what we could tell. If you'll be in Port Angeles, then we can definitely provide whatever recommendations we have on local businesses. You can email us at contact@seekingseas.com.

She's looking better and better; your hard work is paying off! Good thinking using plywood on the overhead. I did the headliners on these boats and you wouldn't want to mess with the vinyl cloth yourselves- big pain! Love the color schemes; the blue piping on the cushions looks great! I hope you get a chance to do some cruising this summer; you're awfully close to some great places to go. Smooth sailing!

To prevent fires you may want to spray a green ceramic primer that is fire resistant to thousand degrees and it is antimicrobial. I play golf with the owner and founder who sells to the major oil companies.

Definitely invest in a high water alarm that alerts you on your phone when you’re not on the boat, could save your vessel if something happens. As for your heating and cooling situation, forced air isn’t ideal but you can look at a mini split. You’d have to find a good spot to mount the condenser/head pump unit.

Good video ! A Tip for you. Put a Rubber Mat in the center section between the motors where u might have to crawl into underway to save your Knees ! You only get - set of Knees , Please take care of them. The second set is expensive & does not work as good as the first set. Me - a Hvacr service tech of 42 years.

Diesel heaters are the answer. One forward, one aft. You already have the fuel source, you just need some plumbing and and an exhaust.

One of the reason why fire watch is so important on vessels in port….Obviously recreational boats don’t have the same manpower or resources but the door is a big wake up call. This is more than a year ago. Adding in fire / smoke detection would be something to think about. Adding remote monitoring would be a big one for me…. Subscribed guys….Anyone who doesn’t realize the amount of work to keep a boat going or bringing it back….Should see this. You guys are really putting in the sweat equity.

teak foam matt is not good. does not last, usually holds water which can speed up rot depending wherr its placed, i would not use it. i would remove any dead electronics and switches from the helm and fill it all smooth and fiberglass it. then you can paint it whatever color. you can install a porthole in the bow hatch just be sure it wont leak before installing. if you plan on keeping the boat i would get rid of the vacuflush system sooner than later. for heat i would use china diesel parking heaters, they work great and be installed in engine room and ducted. your entire anchor line does not need to be chain, just use around 10ft and the rest a heavy line. get some lead scrap from a local scrap yard and melt it into bricks, put them in the bilge opposite of generator to balance the weight. i had a 27 uni and i loved it. great boats. currently have a 41 hatteras being slowly restored.

🦘🇦🇺 Have you ever thought of putting feature ceiling in the salon & other parts of the boat. Strips of say 4 X 1” gloss or satin timbers with recessed strip LED lighting? That would take your new lighting fixtures to an altogether new level. 🙏

So impressive with Jesse's engineering skills and Hannah's electronic knowledge + skills explaining in a simple uncomplicated way! Excellent reporting! I used to love tinkering when I was younger building small aircraft and understanding how everything worked! A large motor launch abandoned for 40 years is especially impressive. Therefore, it is most satisfying to see that the boat is rising like a phoenix!

I would suggest you look at a diesel hydronic heater. It will be Difficult to heat a boat like yours with forced air unless you have multiple units. Hydronic heaters can also be used to provide hot water. It’s pretty easy to get a custom made hatch. I got 7 windows custom made in 2019 for a very reasonable price from Advantec In BC, but there is a U.S. office as well.

Great to see a video again!! Think you should go with oil radiators, they are alot more power efficiency and stores heat alot longer. Just a quick thing. If there is a fire, and you have to use the emergency hatch, I really dont think its a good place to store life jackets inside the boat so you have to go in there to get them, they should be like in the back of the boat in the compartments you showed in the beginning, or even get some to put in your sleeping area. The burned door, just cut it out and mount a window =)
@rofcay1
@rofcay1 Месяц назад
AGREED ! Think Safety ! I too had to comment, Life Saving gear should be outside on in the rear deck locker. Also, all flammables , spray paint, paint, oil, cleaning products etc...also outside in the other deck storage locker. All flammables outside, in one lock will be easier to control/put out...instead of having flammables random thur-out the boat.(little bombs) Consider leaving the cover off the dock-locker to allow "breathing" Just my 2 cents

About your hatch, you can go as simple as cutting the fiberglass out, and put a piece of lean or acrylic under the lip with some silicone and thru screws and nuts. Or you can even build a small fiberglass ledge , and drop in a piece of safety glass or plastic in with some silaflex 295 uv

The upholstery work on your boat looks great, it certainly isn’t cheap. I only have a 23’ boat, a wrap around bench in the front of my boat, 2 person captains seat, and another two person bench. I was quoted $6300 and $7800, to reupholster and cushion mine. My jaw just about hit the floor. I didn’t get it done, I figured it was nothing to it, so I tried doing one myself, and it looks awful.😂 I look forward to seeing your future projects, especially the exterior flooring, and paint. I’ve seen something similar, or possibly the same stuff as your flooring sample. On a few of the DIY boat RU-vid channel. They also used a light & dark, gray, all 3 colors looked great. BOL
@SeekingSeas
@SeekingSeas Год назад
I hear you! Our first quote was 12k 😵 but the person we ended up going with was $6000 for the canvassing and another $1300 for the upholstery. It's still not cheap, but I think it made a huge difference.
