We visited Androsia, a famous clothing company here in Andros. We stopped and explored many blue holes. The boys were not prepared with swim suits and all, but that didn't stop them. They jumped right in. We are very proud of Chase, who has never jumped from a high cliff or distance. He jumped in so fast for that $5, it was almost worth more.
We are a family of 5 from Texas who sold everything in May of 2019 to buy a boat, and cruise fulltime. We have been all over Florida and the Bahamas. We have seen the highs and lows of boatlife. The government there isn't really a problem re: holding people back. yes, most of the place is government land in one form or another, but there's also squatters' rights. If you're a Bahamian citizen, and you want to build a house, all you have to do is drop a load of cinder blocks pretty much wherever you want (with some restrictions). You've got a somewhat variable timeline on when you're going to continue with the build, but if you build a home there it's yours. There are no property records kept, as there's no property tax. No, the problem with the government is that while it's nice that there's little government interference, there's also little government help. People are used to saying they'll invest in a property if the government throws in some as well, and on Andros that just aint happening. I know, I've tried! They'll smile and shake your hand, but then they'll just walk away and forget you exist (unless you actually spend the money and do it yourself; then they'll show up again for more smiles and handshakes).

Thanks for the video. Andros is huge, for many years it supplied fresh water to many Bahamian islands. Now desalinization has stopped that business. Did you see a resort rebuilt by the Baumler family? The story of the renovation was featured on a TV show called HGTV. Andros is also well-known for lots of no-seeums. Like everywhere in the Bahamas, lots of failed hotels and resorts there. So hard to get to Andros, so little to do, so hard to get supplies and help in Andros, it dooms most hotel ventures.

The network is called HGTV, the show's called Island of Bryan in Canada and, I think, Renovation Island in the States. And it's on South Andros, which is actually a different island only accessible by boat or plane. And there's not "lots" of failed resorts, but there are a few. The place is more designed for a smaller operation; 5 to 30 beds, for the bonefishing crowd. LOTS of places like that, and they're mostly booked solid. Some of them are absolutely gorgeous!

Gas here in Enid Okla is about 3.50 to 4 bucks US! Yur boys are great swimmers and are not scared to jump from that far up! Beautiful place for sure! See ya's next week!! ❣❤❤❤❤❤❣
