George Hussey, Dr. 914, takes you on an exterior and interior tour of the Porsche 944 Cabriolet showing what differentiates it from a regular 944 while also highlighting common problems and features.
This was one exceptional tour of the car. I bought my ‘90 Baltic Blue over Linen cab, the year I turned 50 which was the same year I was promoted to O-6. I’m the third owner, and I just went over 60K “on the clock”. Mine is all original, with none of those issues. (Whew!) I live in western Massachusetts, and she is stored from late November to early May. As now I’m approaching 70, and there are so many clueless idiots on the road, I feel it is just a matter of time before one of them is looking at their godamned Nav Screens or phones, and puts me and my car in their target sights. I am seriously considering selling her….to ease my family’s burden once “I move along”….but if I weren’t, I’d probably get a paint correction, and replace those “clear filmy chip protection pieces” on my lower body. I also considered replacing the original wheels with Fuchs, and considered Lindsey Racing’s control arms / suspension improvements to stiffen the ride. But now, maybe it’s time to simply put her up for auction, and let someone else enjoy her. It’s never been a “bad ass” ride, but it sure has been a helluva lot of fun. And….it is a Porsche. Thanks so much for this detailed overview….especially that transaxle tube. Bravo-Zulu….well worth the time to watch, sir!
