@2:28 Essentially, you need a mandolin and a specific waffle-cutting blade, also known as a "crinkle cutter." When passed over this attachment, the potato is first to cut in one direction and then-after you turn the spud 90 degrees-gets cut it in the opposite direction. This results in a fry that has alternating ridges on each side. It also explains why the ends are only cut on one side with only vertical or horizontal lines.

Just giving a complete honest opinion, when I choose universities I never visited any of the campuses, I feel like the info you get from a campus tour is so surface level that you cannot predict how a university actually is; since you're doing science, the aesthetic/size of the university from the outside really makes little to no difference when compared to looking at the university's research capacity, scholars, professors, types of classes, and of course, if you want to do medicine, the competitiveness of the university. the student life and student body, academics, and opportunities, you simply cannot get from a campus tour as clubs/activities are all "inside". Of course, Western is a great university and hope you enjoy your time there, but just a note that campus tours can be misguiding and that opportunities are much more important in the long run as compared to a pretty campus.

i agree to a certain level, however from personal experience and as a student who's going into queen's physics next year, i wish i lived in canada just to visit the physics department and to see the labs there cause this is the stuff that determines the quality of learning in a science program: the lab work, the strength of the lecturers and the accomplishments of the professors who work in the department.

both super valid and good opinions!! the reason why i felt i wanted to visit the campus first was not necessarily to see all that’s “inside”, although i did actually get to see that. i really went more to catch the vibe of the campus and town to really feel if i could live a balanced life and be comfortable living there for 4+ years!

to be fair the tours dont only talk about buildings and facilities they also talk about all the attractive qualities of the school which would include the opportunities they offer the research capacity and other important things. i went to tours where i learned impressive things about the university i didn’t know before. so it actually can be helpful in that sense.

I too am going into science, and am actually deciding between these three universities! Western- medical science, Queens- Science (just like general sci, i would go into life science second year), and then Mac- life science. I was wondering what decision you've made (if you've made one yet) and how you came to that conclusion
