This ship is a work of art! The only draw back is that there’s not much one can do with it. It’s a little fragile to be used as a reliable light fighter.

The maneuverability allows it to take on the gladius, I've been in fights before against super experience gludius pilots and won as an 'okay' pilot

A brief lore bit explaining the floating stairs. The Xi’an are a significantly advanced alien race (even more advanced than humans) the Xi’an are essentially masters of gravity based technology. The next Xi’an ship currently in production (the Gatac Railen) will have an entry lift that completely separates from the ship and floats down from the ship on its own. Fun fact: the Xi’an can actually live over 300 years. Due to this, if you anger them, they tend to hold a grudge for a very long time…

@@executedpythondeviljhoftw6480 to my knowledge they don’t, they just float. If you try to hop on top of each stair outside of the “enter ship” animation you will likely fall off (the stairs themselves do not press down under weight, they are rock solid)

@@Jenna_Talia haha, there’s 4 intelligent alien species other than humans in the game. There’s the xi’an obviously. The tevarin which are bird like and almost extinct. The banu which are tall, tree like, and have short life spans. They are master merchants. There’s the vanduul which are a warlike species with the ability to survive in a vacuum. They don’t like humans at all. Finally there’s the kr’thak an unknown species who the xi’an are very hostile towards.

Thanks for the video Goodish. The "blurry" quantum effect is a bug. It can happen in any ship and is not intended. The Khartu-Al has an alien effect jump similar to the others when working properly.

there was missing quantum tunnel, which is bug, blurred space background is normal part of quantum travel kind of like motion blur, but without the tunnel it stands out

I think it does the effect properly when you QT to a different planet, as opposed to a moon. The effect triggers only when the ship hits a certain velocity. When QT'ing to the moons it doesn't have time to accelerate to that velocity before it has to slow down again. Obviously they should lower the threshold.

@@explorer47422 what you are thinking of only happens when you QT around a planet to another spot on the same planet. The bug in the video just happens whenever you QT away from Microtech. Even if he jumped to Hurston it could still trigger this bug

@@papi3025 I'll need to jump in the game double check, but it's not a bug so much as the devs failing to update a game setting. The QT effect should always trigger when the velocity hits a certain threshold, but the S1 Quantum drives, particularly the stock drive on the Khartu'al, are just too slow. Swap it out for a higher grade and the effect triggers once a more.

It's cool as hell, super fun to fly, and changing the gimbals to two fixed S4 cannons make it a beast because it's so nimble, but it's absolutely fragile as hell. A couple hits can destroy over of those cool looking "limbs" and take multiple thrusters with it, and then you're screwed. Seriously, it's nearly impossible to fly this thing in that condition. It wasn't so bad before the changes to shields for small fighters. When the Shields had four faces, you could simply redistribute shield power to cover, or keep the exposed side angled away with you retreat to let shield recharge. But now you have a single bubble shield. Getting hit from any side deletes your total shield hp, and once they're down, you're completely vulnerable. And since the shield is a huge bubble around the ship, with the Khartu-Al's massive front-facing profile, it's extremely tough to dodge incoming fire. And anyway, ballistics and missiles can damage your ship directly through shields. Maybe once armor is actually added to the game it'll be a different story. But for now, this ship is extremely underwhelming, and nobody wanted to like this ship more than me!

I love her, but her engines are uniquely susceptible to the thruster deletion glitch because they’re so big. It’s incredibly easy for one to be damaged in the magic get wrecked way that makes them never come back.

My favourite thing about this ship is the acceleration in space with the after burn. You literally need 1-2 seconds to reach max speed

unfinished indeed, while he was turning it rolled the opposite direction 4:23 , many ships have this issue, cig drives me crazy with that, just matter of little handling setting, i would rather have proper flights at least in state they have it, then hospitals

Xi'an ships do love their transformations. The Gatac Railen (a concept ship) also has a cool transformation for landing mode, which is showcased on the announcement article for the ship. I don't know if there's much on the San'tok-yai (the Khartu-al's bigger brother) but I look forward to seeing what it does when it's in the game.

The khartu'al/scout is amazingly overpowered - fixed size 4s! And given how well it maneovures it doesn't need gimballed weapons. I've found it runs rings around most dogfighter NPC bounty missions

One of the first ships I ever bought many years ago 😂 it was one of the first alien ships that was offered. It's the most maneuverable ship so far, it's engines are the maneuvering jets, it's the only ship like that. The lore is kinda cool too

I hope you tried the QT for another time and could experience it without the blurry bug. It's one of a kind (like all alien ships have their own QT animation). Well, you sound similar to what I was like when I finally could try this babe out at IAE 2951. This ship is pure ASMR to me.

Not sure if anyone has told you .. but the heads up glitch , the commodity price alert and safe zone icon flickering etc .. is a side effect of using alien tech ships. Its why the lady speaking when powering up glitches out as well .. as human tech and alien tech isnt fully compatible but they made it work..

The Khartu sounds like an old truck sputtering , doesn't it? Love it. One of my favorite ships in my fleet when you just want to fly something different. Just don't like the long nose when landing with landing gear up. Hard to see around.

That ship's ladder was inspired by the one leading into 'Max' from the movie 'Flight of the Navigator'. Watch it and you'll see what I mean. It's a great movie and one of my favorites. I like the vectored thrusters on it as well.

It's a weird angry space bug and it's stairs and controls always remind me of the movie Flight of the Navigator. You can own this ship in game but you can only buy it during special events like IAE.
