@AmandaOffGrid
i am watching this wearing my Cowichan. I've had mine for 14 years and it has been my most favourite piece of clothing for all those years :)!

I am from British Columbia, Canada which is synonymous with the Cowichan sweater. I even knitted one for a boyfriend decades ago. My late father had a Cowichan that I still have; it must be a century old and paper thin but so warm. How wonderful to see Dora Wilson in action. One of my nieces here in NYC is half Shoshone and when she was born twenty four years ago I had a wee Cowichan waiting for her. Thank you Ms. Wilson!

What a rich and very wonderful legacy of knitters. I am a beginner - self taught vey late in life, but I love it and am still learning something new each day. Thank you for sharing.

I just got my first one. Built like a tank! (A very fuzzy, warm, dapper tank!)

My late husband, George, owned his Cowichan sweater for many years. It was his favorite article of clothing. His nephew has it now, and wears it all the time in Saskatchewan. It is now his favorite sweater! It is the best of the best!

Love her voice and calm demeanor, love the artisanal quality of the garments, love the patterns and colours. I have ordered a vintage genuine Cowichan cardigan It wasn't the pattern I originally dreamt of, BUT I wanted a certified genuine one rather than one I wasn't sure about being made from the Cowichan people.

My mother and grandmother made these jackets for everyone in the family when I was young. I’d love to get some of that yarn. Beautiful!

I love sewing and crafting..l even dip my toe in the shallow end of the pool when it comes to crochet and knitting. This is why I keep trying. But in all my years I have never been able to hold up something as beautiful as your sweaters. You are a master of your craft. Bless you for keeping all of us warm and dry with your gorgeous sweaters. I think I better stick to hats and scarves that aren’t too complicated. There is a lady in Whiterock on Marine Drive who has a knitting shop also. She has been kind enough to offer me some help with a cup of tea. She too is just a remarkable woman like yourself. I hope you are teaching your younger generations your gift so they can help fill your store for generations to come. Thank you for your inspiration

back in the mid '60s I spent a summer in Cowichan Bay. I rode my bike up the hill to see if there were any kids I could strike up a friendship with. I didn't see any kids but a couple of ladies were sitting and knitting on the front porch of a house there. I stopped and talked to them, because my mom also was a knitter. But she made Norwegian sweaters. Even back then, when I could barely knit and purl, I was entranced whenever I saw anyone knitting.
