Town of Salem 2 *NEW* Marshal Role is Stupidly OP 

Imagine being a pirate dueling someone only for a socialite to come out and make the crus immediately snipe you

This role is Town Chaos alignment lol. People just panic vote to get all the lynchs

PipeTron will never know the arguments that happened in ghost chat that game, I was 12 (Simurgh) and the arsonist was solidly leading the ghosts until coven started dying

First game I played: - I am amne, no one days night one. - Marshal activates on day 2, kills 2 evils and a townie - Marshal gets killed on night 2 - I remembered I was a marshal somehow. - A day or two later, I used Marshal - kills 3 more evil - Eliminated the last evil on the following day.

Really not a fan of ghost votes. Sure it's chaotic but I feel it ruins any of the investigative side of the game in favor of vote spamming.

Just finished a game with 3 socialites. Absolute chaos.

Fun fact: Marshall was a role originally in the mod BetterTOS (and originally it was gonna be in BetterTOS2). It is just as strong there.

I find it wild that everyone didn’t put together the fact that coven were pushing you as TT plus attacked you, like that should have been your argument

I was thinking this while watching the stream, but I think the night chat party should be anonymous to be more balanced. The evils still can't coordinate, but both town and evils can fake eachother out, which I think would be more fun than just expanding vfa

tbh marshal should be a neutral role. its too chaotic to be town that or the time limit for voting should be extended during the marshal ability

Hey pipe, a quick hot fix was there (R.1.1.46) Hey townies! A quick hotfix patch to address some issues in the MEGA patch. Bug fixes: - Fixed a bug where tribunals could cause roles and players to appear in the graveyard that were incorrect, even after the next game in the lobby started. - socialite entertain ability is no longer appear to happen multiple times. - socialite can now correctly use day ability during trial and other day phases. - socialite and marshal potion master reveal potion results fixed. - added marshal to the unique keyword. - socialite and marshal now are correctly sorted in the game guide and scrolls list. - Reordered Doomsayer, Ritualistic, and enchanter menus so the socialite and marshal are in their correct place in the menu. Improvements - removed mention of pestilence from the drink keyword as it is no longer counterattacks role blockers.

I think socialite could be improved by having it able to instead of everyone talking for one night, socialite gets to pick 3 people and themself to chat every night

Still can't believe there was like. Three TT Trappers in a row LOL. This was an incredibly fun stream, thanks for uploading some of it! Some context that I feel should be included here in comments: 6, in this video, got Marshal twice on stream. Both times they were conj'd D2. (Curiously, and I can't remember exactly, I believe had witched someone *into* them, but the game told me *their* role was Marshal. Assuming the other person who claimed witched HAD been my controlled target, I don't know why I got the person they went to's role instead of the witched's role. I wish I had recorded my PoV to confirm that and possibly submit it as a bug.) (edit: ran a custom and sorta confirmed, apparently same thing happens with PM as well and the two roles.)

Hmm. Marshal from the SC2 mafia map (same creator iirc)...will the Neutral Judge pop up as well? Wherein all votes are anonymous when the Judge declares a session, all CHAT is anonymous (Judge is Judge: the rest are Court:) and the Judge's vote counts twice.

I have to wonder if there's an achievement if the marshal gets hung during a tribunal (if the rest of town is evil, and they collectively decide to vote him up). It'd be an incredibly rare occurrence, naturally.

Honestly, I woulda found it pretty hard to trust 11 about 13 being enchanted when conf conj/cl with the necronomicon.

Ghost votes feels strange. I also imagine that the 2 townies you hanged weren't so happy about it.

It was beneficial for dead Coven to vote inno on everyone during the TT hunt to run out of time.

I saw Marshall but thought it was jackal and got more excited than I should (jackal is the most creative role IMO)

Socialite sounds a bit OP particularly with a marshal. You basically can just write down the numbers of everybody in that night chat and freely lynch anyone not in it. Basicly if you dont see 1 2 or 3 chatting you just coordinate to fast vote 1 then 2 then 3 and can be sure they are either evil or AFK. edit nevermind I misunderstood the discription Everybody can chat not just townies. not nearly as bad.

If the evils can't talk in a socialite event then all you have to do is mark off the people that spoke during that time and the people that didn't speak would be the evils the socialite event makes this situation super easy just pointing that out
