What Dr. Osborne says about removing all grains is true. I was gluten free for over 5 years and still had symptoms until I purchased his book and then removed all grains, corn, dairy, and night shade vegetables. Now I have been symptom free for the most part for over 7 years. However, I have celiac disease because of the genetic gene pattern and eating gluten until I was in my 70’s. Please deal with this now so you don’t end up with my problem of celiac and osteoporosis. You can avoid it.
Thanks for sharing, I was in my mid 60s when diagnosed with celiac disease . I’ve been on a gluten free diet for 10 years, I now find when eating some GF foods and grains, I still feel un-well , corn and diary are now a problem. Thanks Dr Osborne.
@@underated17 In most cases, no I cannot because most contain rice flour for texture and falsely advertise that the product is gluten free. My DNA sensitivity does not differentiate among the different types of gluten and most grains if not all contain some form of gluten along with corn. Gluten is gluten as far as my sensitivity goes so I have to remain grainfree because of that. I had a great product that did not contain rice flour but then that product changed in order to change the moisture content so now I cannot eat that either. Most bread mixes and bread products also contain potato starch which is a problem for me but if that is the only ingredient that is a problem, I can occasionally eat a bread that contains no other problem ingredients. Rice is the big problem for me in these bread products advertised as Glutenfree.
im not sure about dairy, i tend to avoid it because it seems to cause problems but i can have proper greek yoghurt. never understood that but it seems to work for me.
where can you get enough carbs if you are an athlete and do a lot of training. Do you have to consume more energy from the fat then? Is sweet potato ok?
literally my questions exactly. i weight train and am also vegan and celiac. have digestive issues and now im removing all gluten, wheat, grains. don't eat meat or any other animal products. aside from veggies and fruit, the only heaviest carb would be potatoes.. i hope this is something we can eat lmfao
@@question.everything. I have been wanting to go gluten, wheat, Dairy free and meat free for a long time now and I'm trying to actually transition into it and I was just wondering as a vegan yourself that does not eat any gluten or dairy or meat products what do you eat to keep yourself full? Because a vegan can't possibly eat beans for breakfast lunch and dinner every single day. I'm just wondering an an example or an idea of what you eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? Sorry for my long question. I just wanted to get a better idea. Because as a vegan that has all those food restrictions the diet is very limited...
@@kaylabrookes4376 hi kayla! so right now im basically doing plantbased keto/low carb. heres a typical breakdown: breakfast - unsweetened coconut yoghurt (yoso or silk are good dairy free alternatives) + nuts/nut butter, seeds, protein powder (optional), berries OR "nooatmeal" (search up the recipe, but made with coconut/almond flour on the stove, with dairy free milk + nuts + protein powder & any other toppings) lunch - tofu scramble (tofu, peppers, mushrooms etc + daiya cheese + walnuts/pumpkin seeds) dinner - "pasta" made with shirataki noodles (no carbs) OR salad with sauteed veggies + veggie burger then sometimes i'll have a shake or vegan keto protein bar for a snack. i'm not completely keto as i sometimes have bananas & other things but they dont trigger me, im mainly doing it for my gut. anyway, these are just examples. hope it helps you out :)
The best videos in the whole RU-vid! Dr Osborne clarifies things our doctors should have explained to us. But they seem to be lacking the spirit and empathy for the patients. Having suffered all my life of gluten allergy and inflamation now I understand why I have been having some sort of neuropathy. Thank You Dr Osborne. You are sent to us from another dimension to free us from pain and suffering.
I am suffering with severe migraines since last 20 years and doctors couldn't find any cause of it . Recently diagnosed with celiac and I am listening Dr . Osborne regularly now and things are getting clear now why I am suffering from so long .
Removing Night shades, corn, and dairy in addition to gluten (I have the DNA sensitivity) made all the difference in my Glutenfree journey. I have never been big sugar eater but have removed it as well.
I stopped all kinds of grains and seeds and legumes besides nightshades , dairy and eggs. I also can't eat meat or fish. But there are raw organic alkaline fruit and vegetables that are all edible.
@@shantinaturechild6385 - Same here, occasional dairy. Never could digest seeds & legumes very well either, but think it has always been because they usually have trace amounts of gluten. Have small tastes now & then.
@@tootienottoofruitie1726 -Organic tomatoes taste tons better. Even my son says so & he is not a great vegetable fan! I can't stomach those commercial tomatoes either, they are truly tasteless.
No gluten, no dairy, no lectins, no vegies with oxalates, diet according to you blood type, FODMAP list, etc., etc. Really, there's not much food left to eat. :- \
All meat, all fish, all seafood, bonebroth, beef/pork tallow, all wild meat. Herbs as a medicine. Some plants in you personally can tolerantie some. Water with pinch of celtic salt. It's hunger free life actually. And no stress by shopping anymore (buy from farmers once a month! And freeze it). And
Got rid of terrible arthritis in my hands and wrists by switching to mostly grass fed meat, beginning in Jan. '23. Stopped grains and sugar, lessened nuts, quit snacking on most processed food, stopped beer, less fruit and veggies. Now two meals a day is easy, with no eating in between. When pigging out on meat, it's easy to stay full much longer and no cravings. Best diet I've found and I enjoy it very much. Sorry vegetarians. I have zero advice for you other than give it up and eat meat. I'm 65 and am enjoying almost perfect health now. And massive amounts of energy.
The whole of NZ eat grass fed meat but there’s still arthritis around. I suggest that your other restrictions are the reason you’re feeling better in your joints.
Glad you do so well with meat. I wish I could, I sure stay alot warmer here in Monatna! Without it I'm freezing! But I can't do it at all. Cripples me up no matter what kind it is, even turkey. Inflammation/pain out the roof.
@@drayner2517 Yeah, but what other crap are they eating WITH their meat? that matters. I highly doubt 'the whole of NZ' are on a strict carnivore diet
Stop for a while ( say three to four months ) And then slowly re-introduce the foods one at a time and see if you still react to them . Sometimes if you don’t eat a foods for a few months or a year or two , when you eat them again , you can tolerate them.
I am so grateful to be GF, I don’t need a biopsy to tell me I have celiac disease. I do not eat the processed gf foods, very rarely. The only grain I eat is quinoa, which never affects me. I avoid corn, gluten, and all other grains like the plaque. I have half a teaspoon of sugar in all my coffees, which is still less than most people. I weigh less than 100lbs, and my doctor is concerned that I’m still losing weight not gaining. I have food allergies, eggs, tomatoes and 2 types of nuts, so avoid all. Cheese acts like gluten to me but milk doesn’t, yoghurt I’m still figuring out if i can still eat it. You are right about raw vegetables for me, I have always said that salad or raw vegetables doesn’t for anything for me, there’s no fiber, now I know that my digestive system is still healing after being glutened again. Do you know what I can eat to gain weight?
@@marychen1253 Since I posted this comment, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. Which causes many symptoms along with weight loss. I have since gained weight since I started the meds for Graves’ disease.
@lamprimaronna The kefir needs to come from organic A2 dairy from cows who only have A2 Casein protein which means it has no A1 Casein protein in it at all and is organic grass fed only.
Only wild rice for me. It is actually a marsh grass. (I'm from MN) Much of it is grown in Minnesota, which adopted wild rice as its official state grain. ... Wild rice is dark, nutritious and naturally gluten free. It is often combined with white rice to create the popular long grain and wild rice mix. Unfortunately, ingredients that contain gluten are often added to these mixes. Shalom and blessings from Tacoma
I just found rice that is white and brown but is low glycemic and high protein. Just ordered so can’t vouch yet but it’s called Cahokia and you order directly from the grower
@@patdenman3887 I live in MN and have access to plain wild rice but it can be very expensive. I found some canned wild rice that doesn't have additives. You may want to look for it at your grocery store.
*extremely useful and helpful as Always!* (it's also nice to know that parasites are what can cause cravings for sugar and not necessarily the body itself..if you stop feeding the parasites, they die off and the cravings will go away?) (sorry for informal grammar)
Thanks for the corn warning. I have been sick for 5 days after eating corn. I am sensitive to wheat gluten, but now I realise that I have to give my system a complete rest. Also I need to remove night shade, eggs potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. I feel unhappy because what can I eat. At least I can eat nuts. I don't supplement my diet with processed gluten free stuff because it very expensive.
@amadeagottlieb - Sounds delicious. Are the chickpeas GF though? I finally found some that are in a can. I have waited for years for someone to make more GF beans products! Just haven't been able to find any to buy in bulk. I think the GF people have that market cornered?
@amadeagottlieb - Sounds delicious too! Chicpeas are wonderful & buckwheat also. My dog loves chickpeas. I guess I should have been more specific. If gluten free beans & grains are processed with gluten foods, some people are really sensitive to it anyway. I am one of those people. It has to be tested to below 20 ppms.
@amadeagottlieb - I feel for her. It took me so many years to finally figure out all the safe foods I could eat. But it was worth it now. I hope & pray she will do well & recover.
I hate videos where they tell you only what to avoid but provide not many options on what to eat. vegetable fruit meat there isn't a lot of calories there unless you are over doing the fruit and meat but there is to much sugar in fruit so eat a shit ton of meat and you didn't even mention the harms of these factory farms. Provide them knowledge of high calorie health foods they can eat for now and clarity that once the gut is healed and diverse bacteria is in place organic potatoes can be very nutritious and be eaten daily.
The gluten free section in stores has breads, cakes, buns made with cheap starches loaded with calories from starches. 140 calories in a tiny slice of bread! I flung that loaf back and chose to eat lunch meat with mustard with no bread. Costs me a fortune to make my own bread with coconut and almond flour, chick pea flour etc. Hard to get the energy with a sleeping problem to try to feed myself.
Homemade bread from coconut flour is like 2 times more cheap than the store "gluten free" bread, granted is more expensive than conventional one, but it's more filling so you eat less of it.
I made the mistake of eating quinoa, rice thinking it would be ok. Big mistake, I’m on a roller coaster of inflammation and pain for a week now and don’t know how long before I’ll get better again. It’s horrible.
Sugar: 30 years ago I was extremely unwell with severe allergies. I noticed that in the supermarket as I walked down the aisle with the sugar in, the smell from the sugar was overpoweringly awful. I had never noticed it before, and am not affected by it now. But it just showed me the power of what sugar can really do to you.
Sugar is just death to some people. I used to could not walk down the bread isle either. Now I can & it may be because I have been off gluten as well as sugar a long time.

I thought I had found gold when I found your website. I love your information but it still does not do me any good as I am allergic to nuts, and I do not eat meat, dairy. At this point, I have come to the realization that my body only likes me to eat fruits and veggies. I make bread out of chickpea flour if I want a vegan jackfruit sandwich. If you have any information I can use that I have not seen yet please let me know.

For a while I wondered and was concerned about what was going on and why I seemed to be developing more and more new allergies/sensitivities. Thank you for your videos. Anna Cammarano Yes, isn't it great when we are given such good information. It helps us understand the necessity of certain food lifestyle changes and then make them a little easier to do. The right knowledge has changed the way we eat as a family and thus now the way we feel.
raw salads are actually the only thing I can eat without having a bad reaction. However kale, broccoli, potatoes and cruciferous vegetables cause problems for me. avocados also give me headaches, I think from the tyramine.
I have been dealing with muscle weakness over the past year and a half. When I do work on strength exercises, I seem to get worse instead of better. I’ve been gluten free since 2017 because of other illness issues, but have had occasional slip ups. Even though I was diagnosed with celiac in 2022, I never was strict about cross contamination because I didn’t think that mattered. I’m finally realizing (getting educated) that my flares of skin issues, fatigue, brain fog, loopiness in the head, and muscle weakness is most likely due to these other foods you talk about & cross contamination, especially at restaurants. I just ordered you book. Hopefully it will get me back on track.
95 percent of the gluten free bread is made with rice. I got so tired of it I stopped buying it.Made my own flour w quinoa, sorghum, amaranth, . Can blend that with almond flour when desired.May have to add xanthan gum to help it rise

I'm totally frustrated! My G.I. Confirmed I tested positive for both genetic markers for celiac disease. He gave me a FODMAP list (which says that rice, BBQ sauce & popcorn are OK) & said adios. I went to an art festival & ate BBQ chicken. Today I'm sick sick sick! He didn't offer any info on support groups or other resources. I need help. I'm 55 & have had problems for 44 years. Received my diagnosis just a few days ago! Doctors don't care!

Wait... we don't want to go keto or "get restrictive with your diet" but basically we can eat meat, fats, nuts and seeds, veggies, and some limited fruit (but no sugar, corn, pseudo-grains, dairy, or potatoes)? How is this not basically keto?
Technically keto is no more than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day. You could eat the above foods and not be in ketosis. Ketosis brings you to the next level of feeling good!
Wrong... Grains used to be for the poor and famine foods, when it was all organic! (Found in old textes, archeology and anthropology, I really checked)

I wish I'd known all this when I was initially diagnosed!!!! What an amazing resource! It took me YEARS of experimentation, and elimination to discover that I couldn't have any grains, dairy, corn (and for me soy), anything processed and to REALLY minimize the sugar.
