One great detail is that when Andy's mom comes up to his room for yard sale material, she grabs older stuff that Andy doesn't really touch anymore, and deliberately avoids what he still DOES play with. She's a good mother, keeping an eye on which toys Andy still uses.

I love that this movie actually has a mature message about death and extistentialism. Andy growing up from the toys is basically a metaphor for death or losing something or someone purposeful in your life. It's genuinly a terrifying thing to think about and the movie presents it as that through the eyes of Woody. And when the movie is over, he doesn't just forget about it. Andy will grow up and he knows that, but he chooses not to let it bother him, cause he'll enjoy it while it lasts and when all does end, he'll still have his best pal Buzz for infinity and beyond

All three of the main movies had some pretty dark moments. Like, almost everything in Sid's house in Toy Story 1, Woody's nightmare sequence and themes of this movie, the whole climax of the third movie. They get away with it because the characters are toys, but it's legitimately horrifying if you put yourself in their shoes.

Fun Fact: This movie almost didn’t exist because someone accidentally deleted the footage, it was Galyn Susman the technical director of the film who saved it with a copy she had at her home. So Galyn is the true savior of the movie. And her reward was being a producer on the upcoming Lightyear movie. Oh and another fun fact: if it wasn’t for Mr Potato Head, the little green men wouldn’t have saved them from the incinerator at the near end of the third movie.

fun fact: the cleaner IS Geri from the short "Geri's game", they had the body rig left over and reused him for the cleaner. Also in the scene where Woody is boarding the cargo hold of the plane to Japan, the airport worker who says "Hold it, there are a couple more bags coming from the terminal" is a UK TV personality, Andi Peters.

with how the luggage was handled, that airline is gonna have MULTIPLE lawsuits. somebody's luggage was labeled fragile and it got tossed. idk what it was, but it's in pieces now. i think that was the only thing not tampered by the toys so the airline IS irresponsible.

Mind you, the was the first Disney/Pixar movie to have a twist villain, which was novel here but would later become a trope that many accused Disney and Pixar of overusing and misusing in The New '10s. The last good twist was in Wreck it Ralph, where King Candy is revealed to be Turbo.

The "When She Loved Me" scene always made me cry. But in the dvd version you can find a hidden item to click on and it plays that scene but then ends with the car turning back around to run over the box Jesse was in. I remember being so terrified watching it.

Dude I LOVED Toy Story as a kid. I had the first on VHS and the second was on DVD. Although for some reason I never thought to bring the DVD home so it was always left at my grandpa's house. Because of that I never really knew what was shown before or after the credits rolled until I visited a local shop that was nostalgia themed and one of the TVs were playing it, showing that after the credits was the band playing the Woody's Roundup theme in cowboy costumes.

Honestly my favorite part about this movie is the bloopers at the end (which yes i know pixar films had them for awhile) but one was the characters of bugs life thinking they were getting a sequel to only be crushed by Buzz in a bush. What makes it better is in the actual movie you can see them on the branch getting crushed. Like they didn't have to do it, but they did lol

This is my favorite toy story movie of all time! The amount of times I’ve watched it as a kid is insane. The “When she loved me” scene made me cry buckets. I struggle to watch it without bursting into tears. That whole scene of Jessie’s backstory made me vow to always love my toys and stuffed animals. As a kid, I was terrified at the thought of them coming to life for revenge because I forgot about them. That scene gets me every time bruh.

Andy's father was also named Andy-Andy Sr. -and he wrote his name on Woody's boot. The reason Woody is such a rare toy is because he's the only Woody doll that was ever made-just a prototype. Long story short, Andy ends up with a Woody prototype, the absolute only Woody doll in existence (the official line was never manufactured due to a new interest in space toys). So, honestly after looking through google, Woody is only one of a kind unlike Buzz who we see the isles are full of buzzes but there is only one woody doll and the whole collection was only made of only one each and that's it. Which made them super rare.

Fun fact: There's a theory that Andy's mother was Jesse's original owner. Andy is always seen wearing a red hat with white string laced along the side, exactly like Jesse's hat. We also see Jesse's original owner wearing this same hat in the flashbacks. Where would Andy have gotten this vintage Jesse hat from if toys and merchandise surrounding Woody's roundup are so rare? Probably passed down from his mother. Maybe the reason she bought him Woody in the first place was because she remembered her own experience with other toys from the franchise as a child.

Adding this onto another theory that Andy got Woody from his father, Maybe Andy's Mom and Dad got together from their mutual love of Woody's roundup. If Andy's Mom didn't lose Jessie, He would have gotten a cowboy toy handed down from each parent.

The short you are talking about is Geri’s game and yes that is him in the movie! There’s proof of it when he opens one of his drawers and you see the chess pieces. One of my favorite Easter eggs in any movie

YAYYY OMG Toy Story 2 is sooo good and very overlooked by the other movies. I'd honestly say this is the best one. I'm glad more RU-vidrs are reacting to it and coming up with the same conclusion.
