Thanks for posting. Those instructions are almost useless so your video will help. That bull bar looks pretty cool - I like the angled corners vs. rounded on the usual ones. I think the angles match the current 4Runner better. Suggestion - don't just say you did something (like removing the plastic shielding at the beginning). Show how you did it for us newbs. And do an update video when you put a real switch on it so we can see how you did that, too!

I'm glad the video helped. I'll try to explain everything on detail. It's just hard to do something while recoding. The plastic shield on the bottom was so easy to remove I didn't think it was necessary to explain it, but I'll try to do it as I remove something next time. It's my wife's 4Runner, so as soon as she decides she needs a regular switch, I'll definitely will do a video on that. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. I just put one on my Honda Pilot. The manufacturer instructions arent great, but i feel like most people will figure it out as they move along. I did have to drill through the crossmember and remove the bumper and cut through it during install. Im happy with the looks, but people shouldn't think this will survive a impact a speed.

I agree. It's definitely not for impact purposes, but it sure looks great. We still have ours on and still look great after 2 or 3 years.

Yes it is. There are two hex bolts holding it from both sides.

It came in one piece with nuts and bolts to install, as demonstrated in the video.

According to the link provided under the description, it states that its made with Aluminum. I believe that the angle iron where you screw it on, it's made of iron metal.

It's the Off Road. It came just like that. The only thing that I've done to it, is the front bull guard.

If you're referring to the red light on the switch, I just left it alone. We never noticed it being on. I never went back to replace the switch either like I originally thought about doing. It has been working great after years now, so I thought if it ain't bloke, don't fix it 😂

How much torque you need to remove those 3 bolts on each side? That's what I am struggling with. I can't remove them they are just stuck in. I"ve went up to 50 lbs torque and it still won't budge. Already even broke 1 of my 14mms lol.

I don't know how much torque since torque is usually not calibrated when removing bolts lol. Try using a tube by inserting it at the end of the wrench, ratchet, or whatever you're using to remove the bolts. That usually works great when removing bolts or nuts. Also always remember "lefty loosy, righty tighty" 😆. Sometimes I used to get that confused back in the days.

How good is the led light at night? Any video testing?

It was bright enough for me, but I would try to buy the ones with the canbus decoder already attached to the headlights. I haven't owned this truck since 2019. Other then that, I would put a video out to test the difference. Unfortunately, I can't do that one anymore 😕

I belive that this bumper is just for looks. Not sure if it will protect from anything but I'm not willing to try it out lol. I installed it a while ago and it seems to be holding on its place. I tight it pretty good, so it's still sturdy as when I installed it. The reason I bought this bumper is because the way it looked and matched the body itself. I'm not planning on taking it off-road any time soon, but it does look very cool and nice since the day I installed it. The LEDs still work and I've used those a couple of times. I hope this helps in any way and good luck!

That's a full body on frame chassis. It goes bolted straight to the frame rail. I would say yea, it can take a whack.

I got rear ended while driving it to work (very minor damage), so had to take it to the shop. When it was ready and time for me to pick it up, I told my coworker that I have to leave early so I can pick my turd up. She was like"you have to pick what up?" I started laughing and thought that it didn't sound right. So I explained myself. It was hilarious 😂

I have the same truck as you and got the same bar and the brackets are too far apart and I can't attach the bull bar. Literally I have like a half inch to an inch gap between each side and I can't bolt it on

I'm sorry... I have no idea as to why I'm not getting any notificarons when someone leaves a comment. Mine was very tight. I had to squeeze the bull guard in and force it so that I could put two bolts in. You may have to use some washers to make up for that extra gap and probably get some longer bolts from a hardware store, Lowe's, or Home Depot.

what size are the factory bolts that are backed out out and re used for the mounting brackets? 14mm?

Sorry for the late response. I don't get notified when someone posts on the comments for some reason. I believe that 14mm sounds about right. It's been a long time since I worked on it, and to get to those bolts, it's kind of annoying lol. But 14mm should more likely be the correct size.

According to the title of the Amazon listing, it says that it's suppose to be for a 2010-2020 Toyota 4Runner. I can't say that the bottom of the 2005 looks like the 2010, as I never owned any of the other models.

I'm not sure. The instructions provided were very hard to understand. Imagine them trying to explain on how to install this bull guard on a different type of vehicle. 🤔. The brackets that came with the package mount straight to the main frame, and there isn't really any wiggle room. As a matter of a fact, the bull guard fitted very tight between the brakets. Some frames may be closer or more separated to each other.

It has ugly welds

The only welds that are visible, are on the front cross bar where the LED bar is. The welds on top of the guard, you can't even tell that it was welded as it gets grinded down to make it look smooth. I agree with the welds on the bottom back of the guard are ugly.

@@RandomVlogTime i was looking online for used parts and saw a midly wrecked 4runner. With the heavy duty push bull bar cops use. The 4runner still had the hood and bumper destroyed. The top part of the bar bends back. Reading the comments, if they think its going to protect their property like insurance does giving credit to those that have it then its not. These things are definitely soley to aid in pushing cars out the way not to receive high impacts.
