Dude. I have a 95 Celsior and this video is a lifesaver. I can't bring myself to pay for something I believe I can do. This video definitely makes me feel more confident since I now have a good idea of what to expect when I tackle the ECU. I also like the fact you tried our the LS ECU too. Chances are was that it may have had bad caps as well. Either way, thank you for making this video!
I cannot imagine doing anything with a soldering iron on an unopened plastic tarp still wrapped in plastic! LOL. I'd use an old towel or something like that, I think. Anyway, the video was great and helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make it!
Hello from Australia Patrick. It's a satisfying feeling fixing the ECU isn't it? I did my LS400 UCF20R here in Australia. Do you have any experience with the telescopic steering motor and gearing mechanism? My steering column no longer telescopes out but the tilt is fine! Cheers from sunny Australia.
WHEN YOUR WORKING ON THE ECU YOU FIRSTLY DON'T PUT IT ON A STATIC PLASTIC WRAP FROM A DOLLAR STORE TARP YOU NEED A FLAT SURFACE TABLE AND A HIGH HUMID ROOM NOT A LOW HUMID ROOM AND DON'T WALK TO THE ECU AND CHARGE YOURSELF WITH STATIC DISCHARGE WALKING EFFECT, USE A GROUND STRAP OR TOUCH HOUSING NEG FIRST

I mainly do retro game and audio repairs but a local kid brought me his ECU with a cap kit from this German audio place. Talk about some cheap shit capacitor’s. These are literally the bottom of the barrel as far as replacements. They’re literally the cheapest AliExpress type caps you can buy. Looked at the price. $50 😂. There is no more than $3 worth in that packet. Going to replace them but it didn’t come with the big 330uf 35v in the corner. These will fail also.
