hi and thanks for watching, this is solenoid S2 same as solenoid B, if you need to see the location of that shift solenoid S2 (B) this is the link for that video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gs_Aj8Mbuzg.html
My 2002 Automatic Corolla is taking a while (and some throttle) in order to go into gear. It happens when I first start it, but after driving it for a while, it shifts fine. Do you think this could be a faulty solenoid?
when the any of the solenoids fail normaly most of the time the pcm will trigger a trouble code but every body has different case, you should scan it for pending or store codes.
Straigh forward video. Thanks. Im having issues finding the SL solenoid for my 2007 Toyota corolla. Any leads or links. It think 2006 is different from 2007. Thanks
Thanks for your work! I bought a 2005 Corolla for my grand nieces, with 130K. Clean car; it runs perfect. It threw a P0741 trouble code; I cleared it but it came back. Is there a way to know which solenoid is bad? Thanks! I know sometimes you have to lower the valve body, which I am afraid to do. Again, I appreciate your help!
this is number 2, it does not go by part num, the name is solenoid SL but toyota does not go by the name either instead they ask you if you can bring the old one so they can match it. I know it seems very strange but that is how they work with these solenoids.
I can not find that part to save my life! 😩😩 but mine passed the multimeter test but not the battery. I'm not sure if the battery pack i was using is strong enough (though i did see sparks you mentioned). What's the name of that battery tester you were using?
Hi there 👋🎉, i have same code P0741 but my car is Toyota Camry 2004, can it be the same solenoid SL please? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks 🙏
yes if it clicks or makes an operation noise then it is good, it will click every time you apply 12v only if it is connected to the valve body but if it is out of the valve body it will click every time you aply 12v only if you disconect the 12v and let it rest for a least 30 or 50 seconds of a minute and then apply 12v again and it will click, thanks for watching.
18 bolts 48: inch lbs, valve body strainer: bolt A 7 ft-lbs these ones are the 2 on one side of the strainer/filter. bolt B 7 ft-lbs this one is the one that is single on the other side of the strainer. if you have a doubt you can email me n I 'll send you an image.
I have a Toyota Corolla Matrix 2008 and P0741 code was diagnosed. The mechanic asked that i change my oil and filter. After changing those, he cleared the code. I drove the car for about 3days before the code came back again. Now we are stocked with no idea.
a diagnose has to be done to determine what is causing the problem or the trouble code, replacing transmission fluid and filter will not solve the issue with this code.
it is exactly the same procedure, same way to test it, resistence 11-15 ohms at 68F degrees, then apply 12v if it makes an operation noise then it should be good.
I have a 2012 Chevy Express passenger van it's a 5.3 1LT AWD it has 250000 mostly Highway miles. The trans works great, the engine Burns zero oil and consumes no coolant. I'm getting the code PO700 and p0741. Shortly after these codes appeared the van began to accelerate strangely. It did this when I first accelerated and right around 45mpr. it would lose power but then gained it again, it would do this several times before going back to its normal performance. I noticed that my RPMs would go down and then quickly up and down again while it was happening. I know this is all a Telltale sign that it's the torque converter. However there is something else happening that is strange. First when this was happening I turned on my tow/ haul button and all symptoms would go away. The fault codes would go away but then always come back as my vans computer system would run its Diagnostics . For the last two weeks I've been driving my van with the tow/haul button off and the van is performing normally, however the fault codes continue to turn off and on. I have had the torque converter checked by a professional transmission shop and they found that the slippage is minor, in fact they said and I have verified that my type of clutch converter is designed to slip a little bit. They recommend a whole new transmission but I know that it could be other things like a solenoid or the computer. The van is currently running perfectly it has no symptoms.
if the solenoid is deffective it will cause drivability issues but best is to test it, some times the problem is the valve body or wires, you might fix the issue.
sorry no part#, they dont have p# have to bring the one you need to toyota n that is how toyota works with these solenoids, even if you give them the name of the solenoid that appears in the scanner when you scan the vehicle they still ask you to bring the old one, very strange.
I think your test is not very accurate? You will get a mechanical click once but being that it’s not spring or pressure loaded the solenoid will not click again. Just my thoughts.
this ones go by numbers like 1234 but even they all have a number but the dealerstill will ask you to bring the one you need to show it to them, once they see it, they will match it and sell you the right one, if you know exactly which one you need like the number 3 them they will sell you the number 3 even if you dont bring it with you.
best way would be if you email me so I can send you an image of the locatios of the shift solenoids valves, the one you have the code p0741 is DSL solenoid. it is located on one of the corners among the 7 shift solenoids once you have tken off the oil pan.
you have to take it out and bring it to the dealer they dont have a pn, they have some very small printed num but they cant be read and also the dealer does not go by those numbers but they have to see which one you need so they can compare it with the old one.
