I wish I watched this before I started my LSD upgrade in my Supra. Good explanation of the concepts and what's actually going on as I step through the procedure. Now it's time to order $150 of shims until I find the right ones.😅
Why can't my Toyota have these threaded adjusters?!??!! Still a very helpful video for me. I'm doing my first diff re-gear/rebuild on my 06 Sequoia. Thanks for posting this 🙏
I have a question, should i ignore the initial torque at the beginning of rotation (pinion only, without the seal)? It is a bit hard to turn only at the beginning when i change the direction of rotation.
Normally that is due to dry bearing. I would soak it in gear oil and turn it a bit more. See if it helps If it doesn't, I bet it will once it gets driven around a bit. The more critical is the number while rotating.
@@paulkelley86 ok, thank you very much =). I tough that if i put oil, the rotation would become slaggy(even more sticky at the beginning). The problem is that i have to do it on a tractor case where is no place for torque instrument, i m doing it by felling... the manual says about the use of a dynamometer with a string wrapped around the gear, but by the feeling that i measured, it was way to tight to turn I will go wit your opinion and hope the bearings will get used to the torque ,,, they are new by the way
